Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping. This month, we would love to see your cards with the theme SPRING.
My birthday being in Spring, I love the season, to see the bulbs coming up, the leaves on the trees in their lime green (mostly) appearing, just lovely, and the sun coming out for longer, apart from the rain that is!
Anyhow, my card today has a hyacinth, we had some come and go in the garden, such joy to see them and enjoy the delicious perfume.
I embossed and coloured the background hyacinth, then die cut a frame to 3D over it. I don't have DL size dies, so I used the double cutting technique to get the die size to fit. Then stamped the sentiment with the DI to match the flower, and clear embossed it. The hyacinth was stamped and coloured in the same colours as the embossed hyacinth. I quite liked this card, but it was too thick to post, however our neighbour had her birthday a few days after I made it, and it went to her.
Don't forget, we will now require At least one stamped element on the front of all entries. Those of you like us, who love to stamp, we would still love you to enter your fully stamped entry.
I just want to add, THANK YOU, for the lovely messages and support from you lovely ladies, through this difficult time we are having, it really is so kind of you all, and much appreciated. I realise that many of you are going through difficult times too, many more serious than mine, and I hope you your coping mechanism is better than mine, at this time. I suppose I'm what many people will call a wimp at the moment. God give you strength to carry the load you have. I pray he helps us too.
Think it's been a good year for Hyacinth's as I've seen some beauties. Those on your card are lovely in the soft pinks.

I absolutely love this card Faith, the whole design and colours are so pretty, and your colouring on the embossed hyacinth is superb. I’m interested in your comment about the double cutting technique for your frame dies .. not heard of that and I think I’ll need to look into it.

Stunning card Faith, I love hyacinths- just wish the weather was a bit more spring like xx
ReplyDeleteHi. I am sorry you are having such a tough time right now. I hope you get sorted out soon and find your mojo again.
ReplyDeleteI love the hyacinth card. They are one of my favourite flowers but they don't do so well out here.Great choice of colour too.
You asked how I made my stencils for my Christmas card. Years ago I bought some 'Silhouette stencil material' which is just fairly stiff but thin mylar. It is sold for cutting with my Cameo but it took a lot of passes to finally cut right through it. I am going to try again when my new laser cutter arrives. Kate x
Best wishes and prayers for you, Faith. Your card is an absolutely delight, love so much that you paired the beautiful hyacinth stamp with the biggest of the EF! Gorgeous colouring and that sentiment is wonderful too!

What a stunner of a card Faith! I adore hyacinths and can almost smell the fragrance of this one! You are clever to adapt your dies to the slimline format. It's the sort of thing I try and get myself into all sorts of shennanigans!
ReplyDeleteMay God give you strength and comfort you as you soldier on through your difficult times. You are in my prayers Faith. Hugs, Vicky xxx
Hi Faith: This is really pretty. I like the layering and the lovely colors.
ReplyDeleteThanks also for visiting my blog today. Your comments are always appreciated. Thanks so much. You're such a sweetheart, and you have the gift of encouragement.
We all go through life's valleys. Sometimes, it's a quick journey through the valley. Other times, we feel like we're stuck in the valley. But PRAISE GOD He is always there for us through it all. I completely trust that God will give you strength, joy and help you need to get through your valley. Simply talk to Him and ASK of Him. He will listen and answer every time. This is a great opportunity to draw closer to God and to watch Him draw closer to you as well. Keep Him in the center of it all, and you'll be just fine. Our family is going through a valley right now as well, and it gets overwhelming for sure. But PRAISE GOD that He is faithful and will always provide what we need.
Hugs to you, my sweet crafty friend. I appreciate you and look forward to seeing more of your wonderful art again soon.
