Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping. This month, we would love to see Romance.
Who has trouble making a Romance card? Me! I actually made 7, and they all ended up in the bin. I had this vision of a rabbit amongst leaves and flowers, so I stamped and cut a mask, took the mask off after stamping and it was a mess! I redid it, nope another in the bin.
Then I tried again, forgetting what was in my mind, turned out OK, then I dropped ink on the rabbit! Another in the bin, I tried again. I made a mess of fussy cutting.
I decided maybe it was the rabbit stamp that didn't want to be used. Next a different rabbit was stamped and die cut 3 times, all failures. I was on the point of giving up again, I decided to try one more time, then it turned out OK. I could carry on.
I stamped and die cut the sentiment, dragging the ink to colour the hearts. Then a heart was die cut, and although I wanted CAS, I felt it needed more, so I die cut a flower stem and left it white. All put together and attached to the card with 3D pads, then a small pompom was added, well, I had to. Whew, 4 hours later!
I had planned to do so much more, such as comments to catch up on, more DT cards. Oh! Well, here's the card.
bunny, sentiment and hearts - Uniko Stamps
die cut heart - Sissix
ink - Distress Inks, hickory smoke, candied apple
red card - Jellybean
flower stem die - Craft Making Magic
Don't forget, we will now require At least one stamped element on entries. Those of you like us, who love to stamp, we would still love you to enter your fully stamped entry.
Think we all have days like that Faith, but it all came together beautifully in the end.

A lovely card Faith after all your failed attempts! Sometimes what we see in our heads just doesn’t translate into real cards!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous romantic card Faith. I love the addition of a bit of texture with the die cut flower behind the heart. I’m a bit like you .. very often I have multiple goes at something before I’m satisfied, I’m sure we should be less hard on ourselves xx❤️

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Faith and worth the effort-trouble is when you visualise something it never turns out how you want!Love the little rabbit and die-cut stems.

Sorry it took so many tries, but the end result here is a really cute card! Who wouldn't love that cute little bunny on the big red heart!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry that my theme caused you such trouble. I know how infuriating it can be when nothing comes together. I am glad you persevered because your finished card looks great xx
ReplyDeleteI rarely have a clear image in my mind when I begin a card, only a vague feel and some details, so I follow the events (and rarely put something in the bin, as I change my mind and search a way to recycle the failed thing in another way!:D)
ReplyDeleteThis works only for me, I suppose! LOL :D
However your card came out so pretty after all the troubles!! That bunny is so cute and love the extra dimension you given with the white flowers!
Such a sweet hare leaping across the pretty red heart, and love the white die cut flower stem in the background and a lovely sentiment too Faith. x

ReplyDeleteFaith, I stopped by to thank you for stopping by my blog so often to leave sweet comments. I really appreciate them. I didn't realize that I'd find a kindred spirit when I read your post. I've had similar bad mojo card making days... so your sharing made me grimace, moan, and finally chuckle as you described all of the tough breaks that you encountered while trying to be creative. So many of us feel your pain because we've done the same. But I commend you for not giving up. Your finished card is wonderful! Thanks again for your kind words on my post. I look forward to seeing you stop by! Kathy A aka myasperations

You have described my card making days perfectly I usually have several attempts before I'm happy with my card and at least three end up in the bin. I'ts so frustrating but it's part of the game you did a great job not giving up as the result is perfect and beautifully CAS.
