Here is another card I did with the same metallic card, I had a call from my SiL, who lives close, could I make a card in the next half hour for her Grandson. He is a half-marathon (soon to be a full marathon) runner. I had nothing suitable, so went onto the web and found this image. I added it to my Cameo and print and cut the runner, I didn't 3D him, just added him onto the printed card background. I felt it added a little detail. She was pleased, and he liked it, that's all I need.
I hope everyone is OK with the temperatures plummeting in the UK. Keep warm wherever you are in the World, apart from Australia that is! I know your Summer is starting, enjoy the early warmth.
I've been caught out like that Faith and isn't it difficult to line up those letters, but they are very elegant cards.
ReplyDeleteLove what you made for the runner, very fitting. My athlete son (half and full marathons team GB) has a fracture of the hip, A&E sent him away and said he could always get a private MRI if he wanted to be sure as it would be weeks on the NHS. So that's what he did, what's it coming to one wonders.

Dry stylish CAS Christmas card design Faith .. yes I bet it was fiddly to line up those letters but the result was well worth it. Very cool and funky birthday card for a runner .. how clever you are digitally designing that. I have been chatting with one or two crafting buddies about upgrading my ancient and small die cutting machine and I’m debating between a larger manual or an e,e tropic one; but I think I have discounted the digital route as I wouldn’t know where to start !! Xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and so elegant Faith, I think they were worth the time and trouble you went to. The marathon runner is amazing, what a fabulous image.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have ever been so cold in my own home, its awful, trying to keep the heating off as much as I can but my word, I find myself longing for open fires, if I could I would get mine done quick smart. Hope your warm and well.xx
Beautiful card and love the embossed background-weird how these quick cards end up taking more time!Fabulous colourful image you found for the runner card-white over with frost here this morning and freezing!!!

Very elegant Christmas card, and I can image how shining it is IRL.
ReplyDeleteWonderful personalized Birthday card for your neighbour's son, love so much the multicolour silhouette!
Love both of these cards! Beautiful Christmas cards even if they were time-consuming. And you are such a good person to be able to create 'on the fly' when asked! Lucky you have so many great resources!
ReplyDeleteI have that die set too and didn't use it for my cards this year, don't know why really. Love the simplicity of this one. Your neighbours will love it. I don't think I could ever make a card in half an hour however hard I tried. I spend far too long humming and harring about what to do! I don't like the cold, but at least the sun has shone today. Hope it doesn't snow xx
ReplyDeleteHi Faithie, such pretty cards! The holiday one looks to me you've used an embossing folder and matching letter dies? Yes, without my fine-tip glue bottle and my tweezers, would never be able to line up the Noel. Then, a quick press with kitchen roll to pick up the excess glue, which is very tricky with metallic card! You are indeed brave, I would have just avoided the whole thing, heehee. And a half-hour notice on the runner card? No could do here! haha I'm not the computer whiz you are! I might could come up with a rhyming sentiment in that time... Please stay warm and cozy over there! We're having to trim back our lantana and wandering jew AGAIN on the back porch. They seem to think it's Spring! XOX
ReplyDeleteHi Faith your Christmas card is so elegant and stylish and love the embossed background. Love the runner card, fabulous design, Kate x
ReplyDeleteLove your Noel card Faith, it was weel worth the work and time you put into it. What a diamond you are producing a gorgeous marathon card so quickly.

Gorgeous Christmas card Faith! I love the design and embossing. I can see why this is a easy but not easy card. If the Noel letters would have been connected it would have been much easier. lol Oh well, you did a great job and it is a lovely card. I also love the card you made for your SIL's grandson, it is perfect for a marathon runner, love the sentiment...again perfect! Keeping warm here with my little space heater. lol I can't imagine having summer right now and winter in July. Isn't funny at what we are used to?! I'm used to a cold Christmas but think I could enjoy a warm Christmas once in a while. lol Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteLove the clean and simple (Nothing is ever simple I know) Christmas card! So classing with the embossing on it and I like the one with the metallic too. The birthday card is outstanding and he's going to love it. GREAT sentiment for it for a runner too!

ReplyDeleteYour letter pressing really shows off the lettering. A beautiful design. Well done on coming up with an impressive card and greeting at short notice, it looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteYou have been busy, I adore the card you made for your neighbours. Love the embossing and the matallic cards.

It's 20 here in Greece today but miserable not a glimpse of the sun but shouldn't complain considering the awful weather you are having in the UK. Two fabulous makes the first one is beautifully CAS so stylish and the second is amazing love the image and of course, your sentiment as always is just perfect.

This is a great technique and I never think to do it but it does look so elegant and the added 'Noel' in that pretty metallic card and with the little sprig of berries is perfect for a crisp and clean look Faith. x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful CAS Christmas card and I love that graphic runner card!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards. I love the simplicity of the Noel but it really pops with the background embossing. The runner one is great and I will be using that image myself this year for sure.
ReplyDeleteDoing some catch up blog reading. Sorry I don't get here more often, but I do appreciate all the sweet comments you leave me, Faith! The BD card is genius--love it! I've gotten fooled a couple times thinking a word die was one piece. I know individual letters can be used in different ways, but I'm lazy & prefer one piece words--haha! You made beautiful cards using the metallic cardstock!
