Hi Everyone, a lot of things going on which has meant a pause in posting apart from my DT cards, we still have our cupboard drying out, so still things out of it in my craft room! We had a call to let us know the cover on our our faulty divan has been discontinued and we had to choose a new one, making it another 4 or more weeks before we have, hopefully, a perfect? replacement. A few other things added to the stress, but, it can't last forever can it? As they say, things are sent to try us!
However I have made a card for my Horsey Niece. I make her a card with a horse image every year, this is her 59th birthday, so I thought this image suited her perfectly, you know, struggles come about to do things at her age. hahaha
I took the image into my die cutting machine, with the tree, leaves and fence, I cut them all out of plain white card with 2 layers of each and coloured them with Distress inks, the horse is white, as hers is!
After colouring them, I passed the tree through a wood embossing folder. I printed a dp background, onto which I had added a sentiment, that I thought suited the scene. I placed them all to the background and used silver gel pen around the barrel step, then I added a marker pen shadow underneath the horse. I hope she will be pleased with it.
EDIT, Storm Eunice is pretty horrendous, our neighbour has lost his shed roof, we have been lucky so far, just our patio chairs have gone walkabout a bit, but not too bad.
Sorry to hear about your kerfuffle hun! Hope you're sorted soon. Love this card, reminds me of the rare occasions I've tried to get on a horse, lol. Xx

ReplyDeleteStay safe and warm Faith and yes things will get better in more ways than one x. Very windy, Baltic and heavy showers/hail but no snow my end x.

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful image, and one I know well when having riding lessons in my late 50s, not the most elegant of looks. Anyhoo, I'm sure your niece will love it.

ReplyDeleteHi Faith, what a cute and funny card. It's great to see you at Outlawz. So sorry the divan is being held again. I heard about the storm over there. It wasn't until I began making art friends across the pond did I even realize you get a bad storm almost every year. I never associated that with UK. But it actually makes sense, you being an island in the ocean and all. Hope everything blows over safely and hurry up with that divan! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThis card is just perfect for any horse lover and I had a good chuckle as soon as I saw it! LOL Fun creation and your niece will love it I'm sure. Sorry about the issues you're having but hopefully it will all be sorted out soon! These things teach us a whole new level of patience don't they? Do have a good weekend anyway!
ReplyDeleteAnother saying we have Faith is, "Don't sweat the small stuff". lol Sounds like you guys have a lot on your plate and I hope it settles down soon for you guys. I am so in love with this card Faith!!! I get your Horsey Niece loved it too! Your coloring with DI's impresses me so much, I would have thought this was a precolored image had I not read that you colored it! The scene is fabulous, but it is the gal getting on the horse that has me cracking up. lol Yep, the struggle is real I'm sure, it would be for me at 62! lol Great job Faith....again, I just love this card! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteSo sorry and hoping things get straightened out soon for you, Faith.
ReplyDeleteI know it could be worse, but when you are dealing with any mess at the time, it's just not a good time.
I had to giggle when I saw your fun card for your niece :-)
This is such a fun card! Great coloring! Loving the background scene too.
ReplyDeleteHi Faith- love this fun card and your sense of humour.
ReplyDeleteEunice’s tantrum was very violent here at one point and she’s still blowing a hooley today. Had to get temp roof repair but at least it’s watertight again and the roofers are back tomorrow to complete the work. Small probs compared to some. Hope the storm didn’t cause you anymore problems.
Hugs, Sarn xxx
Oh goodness, Faith! You are dealing with rather a lot of nuisances right now.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you could spend some happy time crafting this fun card for your Horsey Niece! I gave me a chuckle!
I hope things get straightened out soon for you! Your card for your niece is too cute and fun! Great coloring and a beautiful scene! I’m sure she will love it!
