Spring Bloom popup card

Hi Everyone, another card I forgot to post, this was for hubby's Sister. The story behind this was, that after her 2020 birthday, she gave me a centre popup card, that had been given her. She thought I could take it apart and use it on another card? She said she loved it, but as it was a good idea, I could use it. I said I had a couple of patterns the same.

Last November 2021, for her birthday I made this card for her. I know it looks Spring like, but my original thought of the card was sunflowers and leaves, I cut and added dies together onto the centre first and then whilst doing the front to match thought, OH! this looks too Spring like, too late, I had lots of other cards for family at the time, including Christmas, so she was given it. She was thrilled and loved the bright sunny card she said. She put it centre stage. So it was all OK after all.

I added the stamped verse onto the back, I forgot to photograph the back,
 probably because I don't usually?

25th Anniversary

Hi everyone, another card I had done but not posted, seems there are quite a few, so look out.

This card was for my Goddaughter and her husband. I had forgotten with one thing and another and had to do it quickly. Anyhow, as it had to be done quickly I knew I had something I could do in my files so, I went and cut it out with my Silhouette adding the 25 onto the heart shape. I had done one similar, though I can't find it now! I stamped the sentiment and the hearts, then added the cut silver card onto the heart shape white card, I decided to add a silver button gem. I had to deliver it by hand to get it to them in time. Photo quality is not good as it was dark and raining!

stamps - Magazine freebies
birds heart - Craft Bundles
gems - stash

We have the floor in the cupboard still drying out and waiting for the bedroom carpet fitter, the bed base is being replaced! Waiting for that to be delivered. So still in a mess, although not as it was, thankfully. I'm not particularly house proud, but hate mess. I hope we'll be sorted with it all completed in a couple of weeks. Keep your fingers crossed.

I saw a quote recently, which I though appropriate for me at the moment.

Home - Breathe!
focus on what matters.

Retro Elegance?

Hello Everyone, what a week we have had! We decorated our bedroom before our new bed came, then Hubby found a water leak under the fridge, which thankfully had gone backwards into the wall and into a cupboard, not into the kitchen, although it had gone under the hall tiles and they were ruined and had to come up. Again thankfully, they were the original tiles when the house was built and were under our main flooring. However it meant the flooring up and newspaper on the floor for days, to soak up any excess water. The cupboard floor was in a much worse state, so that will take a time to dry! All "stuff" from there now resides in my craft room!

Then, we had a new bed ordered, it came, but the base was damaged and now we have to wait for another. We are waiting for a carpet to be fitted, but the fitter is on holiday. To say we are in a mess is an understatement. OH! well it could have been so much worse, we thought at first the leak meant we would have to dig up the floor in the hall, until hubby found the leak in the kitchen! The plumber fixed it in no time, although it had been leaking for a long while, considering the cupboard.

I have a wonderful Guardian Angel, she gives me different things to think about sometimes. Then says OK, it won't be as bad as you think. Bless her, yep! she is a she! Although it could be someone like Clarence (in the film A Wonderful Life).

Anyhow, my card is one I forgot to post, it was for my lovely SiL. I thought it suited her.  It was her ahem! 81st birthday card! She, like me would remember this fashion. I have had this image since 2012 and haven't got a clue from where, so if anyone knows, I can update the info here.

Rugby card

 Hello Everyone

My card today was made for our GNephew, a fanatical Rugby player and a certified Referee of our National game. I decided to make a fun Rugby card for him but, had to find inspiration on the web, I was in a definite lack of mojo phase. I blame the rain we were having when I made it!

In Photoshop, I made the simple rugby posts and added the Welsh Rugby ball shape adding a Welsh flag to it and colouring it to look like a rugby ball.  A touch of grass with PS brushes. The sentiment was computer generated with the images.  again it was something I saw on a card on the web, changed slightly. All printed and layered onto red card, I also 3D'd the ball.

Hi Everyone here I am with my DT card for today

This is for the challenge at QKR. Our challenge is on the 1st and 15th of every month, so you have 2 chances every month to enter the challenge.

We will select two winners each of the weeks
1 using QKR Stampede  or Eureka Stamps image
 and 1 using any image!

Anything Goes every 1st & 15th of the month

I nearly forgot to post this, until a friend came to visit and wanted to see how my die cutting machine worked, I was in the middle of showing her and came across this card and remembered I hadn't done a post for it. It must be the SUN, we haven't had any for weeks and then the last couple of days have been frosty and very cold, but very sunny, perfect Winter days. AND! the nights are drawing out, Spring is on the way, says she hopefully, funny how the sun affects me.

My card today is shaped and for a Winter birthday. I thought this delightful snowman deserved the snowflake. I made it using my digital die cutting machine again and cut the giant snowflake into a 6x6 card size. I adjusted the snowman image to fit the centre, the papers were used to add to the extra layer snowflakes, included in the design. I print and cut the papers in the snowflake shape and the Snowman circle. I coloured him with inks, to match the paper, he was attached to the centre of the snowflake after inking the edges, to outline the circle. The Hot chocolate image was included in the paper design kit and I added the birthday sentiment and cut and printed both, also added an offset layer behind them. I added Nuvo Glaze to his nose and used a Quickie Glue pen to add silver glitter snowflakes! I stamped a sentiment inside and forgot to take a piccie! Another memory fail!

The snowflake was a design I had in 2011, however it's still available as a freebie in Shirley's blog, linked below. The happy Sledding Snowman is linked also.

Sympathy card

One of the ladies in the Craft group, lost her husband of 70 years recently and I made this card for her.

The stamp, I thought, was perfect for the card. It is part of a set of 3, I used one other here I stamped it onto textured card, also stamping the sentiment. I coloured part of the flower in Distress ink. I then die cut the image and layered it onto it onto die cut dark blue card. Both then attached to the card, keeping the monochrome colouring, I also added a dark blue bow.

I have to admit to liking it, so I made a couple more. I was glad I had, as sadly they were all used within days of the first one.

70th birthday

Hi Everyone, my card today was for our, now retired, Illustrious Leader of The Male Room. It was so sad to have Jane step down to do other things and hopefully enjoy "old age". I shall miss her.

I stamped and embossed, in silver, the floral image and coloured it in Distress Inks, I decided to go pale, as it was a Winter birthday. I then stamped it again and fussy cut the flower shape, which I added onto the opposite side, with a die cut 70 added to it. A few dots of silver Stickles and 3D glaze onto the 70, the addition of a stamped sentiment on a die cut shape.

inks - Distress Inks
number die - lost it's packet (sorry, could be First Edition)
sentiment stamp and die - Julie Hickey
Stickles - silver

hopefully you can see the embossing clearer in this photo

Jane is also a collector of ATC's, so as a Team, it was decided to send her an ATC also. This is the first time I have made an ATC, I hope she likes it.

I stamped the Post Box, text and sentiment. I stencilled the clouds and the Post Box. I shaded around the edge of the ATC, then placed it into an embossing folder of a Post Card, inking over it to bring out the details.

Teenager TMR

Hi Everyone, my post for today is for -

I had a card for my GNephew to make, he is slightly over the teen years, but I think this card is suitable for those techie kids who love their games.

I cut the shaped card and the controls with my digital die cutting machine. I stenciled a circuit board onto the main card, in varying depth of ink. I wanted it to seem as if you could see through the control panel? Oh! well, can't help my thinking! 😉  I stamped the sentiment, then inked the edge with Distress Inks, adding the cut images to the card and clear glaze to the buttons.

Gamer card - Birds Cards
stamp - magazine freebie
stencil - Funky Fossil stencils
clear glaze - Nuvo Crystal Glaze
cutting machine - Silhouette Cameo

I made an insert in Photoshop adding the sentiment, it was printed and then to my cutting machine to cut the shape out.
the perfect sentiment came from Craft U Print sentiments.

QKR Santa, belated birthday?

Hi Everyone here I am with one of my 2 DT cards for today

This is for the challenge at QKR. Our challenge is on the 1st and 15th of every month, so you have 2 chances every month to enter the challenge.

We will select two winners each of the weeks
1 using QKR Stampede  or Eureka Stamps image
 and 1 using any image!

Anything Goes every 1st & 15th of the month

Something VERY different, all because I made a mistake in timing of my DT image and posting it. It got me thinking and this is the result!

I sent the image to print and cut in my die cutting machine, then I coloured the image in DI's, added clear glaze and clear sparkle pen, layered the 3 layers together and then to the card. I had already added a background paper and mirror card die cut squares. I chose the star paper and background as they could be used for birthdays even though they are for Christmas. The sentiment is something that came into my mind when I saw he was "tied up" in the lights. I hope it gives you a smile this New Years Day.
After it had all been put together, I realised that I had used "local" English and it should be "all tied up", never mind, it will go to someone local, as I always remember the family birthdays. I have them come up on my 'puter calendar, so I can't forget hahaha

Critter Crazy Challenge Celebration

Hi Everyone, I have 2 DT cards today, this is for -

our new named blog

although the rules are slightly different, we still have the same challenge
Anything Goes but they MUST feature a critter as the main focus
Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter...

I was going through my files and came across this celebration Teddy. He seemed perfect for today's card, it will go to my brother whose birthday is on the 5th January.

Anyhow, I did my usual print and cut in my die cutting machine, usual 3 layers, no kerfuffle cutting out by hand for me! I stamped the background, added clear glaze, I love that stuff. I used DI's to colour around him too. Added a holographic layer so he has sparkle and shine.
