Hi Everyone an old technique today, but still interesting and great to do.
This is the first card I showed the class. I had bought some table napkins as I loved them. I showed them how to strip them to the one layer and glue the layer to a card, layer it again onto a background card and add a sentiment. They didn't make it, it was just something to let them know they could achieve something easy. They were interested thankfully.
You all know how to do it, so I will just let you know how I did it - pull apart the three layers of the napkin gently, glue the top layer to a piece of card, then layer onto the background layer card and attach it to the main card, add a sentiment - card done.
It's something I think they can do, so I will try them with it at a later stage, maybe with Christmas table napkins?
This is so pretty, and a technique I haven't done since I first learned to make cards! I'm sure your students will enjoy making one of their own too! Stay cool!
ReplyDeleteLooks lovely.

Gorgeous card Faith. An old technique but still fabulous. I'm sure your students will love giving it a try. Thanks for your lovely comments. xx
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty. Since I am still a newbie to the crafting world, I have never done this. May need to try it out.

So beautiful Faith and much better as a card than a scrunched up napkin, Kate x
ReplyDeleteThis is really lovely Faith I haven't done this technique in ages! hugs Sue x
ReplyDeleteWell done! That's a keeper! Had forgotten about that one. Really lovely, Faith!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card. Anesha
ReplyDeleteLove it! I've seen the technique done many, many times with lots of different napkin patterns, but I've never tried it! We don't have anywhere to purchase patterned napkins in this area and I never think to buy any when we're out and about in the next county, lol! Maybe one day...
ReplyDeleteLooks lovely Faith, something else I’ve never tried xx
ReplyDeleteIts gorgeous Faith.xx
ReplyDeleteA beautiful card Faith, a lovely napkin - it is perfect for a card.

I did this technique a long time ago - it does look lovely on your card. You just need to find the right napkin - and you have!
ReplyDeleteThere are so many beautiful designs aren't there and it seems a shame that they usually just get used at mealtimes and thrown away. This is a beautiful one and you've used just the right section here Faith. Vicky x
ReplyDeleteWould you believe that I've never done this before with napkins?! But I have some that I want to give it a go sometime. I think it is great that your group was interested in it and I think it will be great to do with them in the future! Love this one, a beautiful card from a napkin, who would ever know?! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card!! There are so many lovely napkins out there with pretty images!! What a fun pretty card, well done!!
ReplyDeleteReally lovely card, Faith! I have seen the technique before, but have never tried it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty napkin card Faith...It is something I have never tried x.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! I haven't done decoupage in years, but I loved saving special event napkins this way. Such a great idea to create a card~
ReplyDeleteI love your card and nicely explained! Gosh, I have so many napkins I could make a million cards, seems like. Yet I never do this technique. Hmmm... xoxo
ReplyDeleteI learned that technique for decorating candles, but need to try it for a card! This is lovely, Faith!
