Hi Everyone, we woke to snow this morning a rare occurrence for us, so it was as the poet J.P Priestly said -
" The first fall of snow is not only an event, it is a magical event. You go to bed in one kind of world and wake up in another quite different."
It certainly was for us, first thing before I did anything, it was out with the camera and step outside in my nightie and -2C to take photos of the garden and the beautiful site before me, crazy? Yep! but so glad I did, as before lunch, half had melted and gone, there is still a layering of about 2 inches in most parts and the road is covered. I'm hoping hubby can still go get his vaccination on Tuesday.
Of course it had to be recorded and I did, by using just 2 photos. I made a digital scrapbook page, I had the template in my files and I thought it so apt, not only for the snow, but Covid circumstances too.
I know quite a few of you have had snow and probably more than us, but this is my record of our snow. Looking at the mountain that is in front of us and our garden. It seems as if my header predicted it for us!
Thank goodness someone else loves to see the snow, its so magical and I still get excited about it. Its stuck here which has never happened for years and its a beautiful sight it really is..:)
ReplyDeleteI love the page you made Faith its captured it all beautifully.xx
A super layout Faith, fabulous photographs - I think I would have taken them through the window though!
ReplyDeleteWe only had a light sprinkling of snow here, it was a chilly walk with the dogs.

Snow always looks so peaceful to me, especially right after it falls, when it is still untouched! You've made a beautiful layout with the photos Faith. The colors really work so nicely together.
ReplyDeleteA very beautiful scrapbook page! Very brave of you to venture out in yuor nightie! We didn't get it until yesterday lunchtime onwards but then it froze overnight and it was minus 3 this morning. I've decided to leave the shopping until tomorrow
ReplyDeleteLove the pics although I agree with Pauline I would have taken them through the window too-had minus temperatures for a few days here but just frost no snow!We both had our covid jabs on Thurs

A beautiful scrapbooking page, Faith. What a lovely view you have of the mountain. We had snow too, but most of it was gone by lunchtime. xx
ReplyDeleteOh, such a lovely layout! Beautiful photos of the snow and mountains! Wonderful color and great design, too! We are due for some snow and ice this evening into tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love this scrapbook page Faith!! The photo's are so mystical and magical! Your sentiments are perfect for the snow and for the current events for sure. I also agree with the quote, as you can go to bed in one kind of world and wake up in another. So true. It is snowing here now, just starting as I let Maverick out to potty and I saw some flakes starting. Right about the time they said it would start, 8 pm. I just got home from the pharmacy and grocery store, so glad it waited for me to get home. lol Hope hubby got his shot in spite of the snow. My brother and sister used to go out barefooted when it snowed and would run around the house and then back inside! So, no you aren't crazy out there in your nighty! lol Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteThis is such a nice page. I've just started scrapbooking again - back to my roots. With my first grandbaby now 2 months old, I want to create for him. I love the simplicity and focus of your design. I'm going to try to copy this design. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteYour layout is awesome! So glad you got to document the snow fall! We've had several snows this season and it's so beautiful. I love snow. Enjoy - and stay safe!

ReplyDeleteTotally love your pictures & layout, Faith! Lucky to have some snow as it does make the world look beautiful. Hope your hubby got his vaccine & hope we can get it soon! Thanks for the condolences. You know how hard it is to loose a sibling.
ReplyDeleteA great layout Faith really does justice to your photos, not sure I would been brave enough to go out there in my nightie though xx
ReplyDeleteVery nice scrapbook page - great photos thanks for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous page Faith and the wording just sums up 2020. Lovely photos too. The snow is always gorgeous to look out at, and it does look like a magical world.
ReplyDeleteHope your Hubby manages to get for his vaccination, Kate x
This is such an inspiring page Faith! The thing that stops me from scrapbooking is getting the photos printed and sized - and I don't even have a printer any more!! Maybe I should get going with some digital layouts. I totally know that feeling of something magical having happened when it snows overnight. I didn't go out in my nightie (don't want to scare the neighbours!) but I got ready in a rush like a child. Eva too - she couldn't wait! Vicky x
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful page Faith. Loving the colours and your stitched lettering. We did get one morning of snow then just freezing cold weather which left it all crunchy and slippery! Was finally glad to get some rain today to clear the ground!!
ReplyDeleteGreat to capture the snow Faith and to record it. The colours and the photos on your layout are fabulous x. All sorts of weather up our way x.
ReplyDeleteyour garden looks so pretty covered in snow! the layout is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteFaith, what a perfect digi layout for your photos. Your garden looks like a magical frozen fairyland, so pretty. I did not realize you live so close to mountain ranges, are those the Highlands or the Gambrian? I forgot what city you live nearby. So happy you got some magic and hope hubby gets his shot! XOX
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun page with great photos. Loving those big letters and colors too!
ReplyDeleteSuch magical pictures. The first snow is always so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYour scrapbook page is wonderful.
Adorable kids and a beautiful scrapbook page!
ReplyDeleteI love 'seeing' snow - I just don't want to live where any of it is going to fall into my garden. lol Lovely photos, my friend, and I hope nothing got frost bitten when you were out in the elements in your nightgown. :-D
