Books

Hi Everyone, had time on my hands and rather than do the ironing! UGH! I decided to make another scrapbook page for the digital blog challenge at Digitally Made. I saw this quote recently and made a note of it, that's what started the story on my page.

A lot of things we read about and experience can give our lives excitement, danger, love and hate, just by turning a page, don't you just love reading?

This page contains a lot of digital papers, elements and masks, so rather than list them, if you like the look of an image or paper, let me know and I will tell you where it's from and who by.

A Perfect Pear!

Hi Everyone, today's card is for a challenge that I was told about, the theme being "Fruit". I had SO many choices, but in the end went for an image I love. I MAY even do another, it made such a change of subject.

Trees and apples!

Hi Everyone, today's card is for the Dragon's Lair FB progressive challenge, we had this lovely scene to play with, I added another image. I think the trees could be used as a background quite often.

dp's and sentiment - Dawn by Design

As this is a "garden card?" I decided to show you a plant we have that has such a fabulous name to show off it's fabulous show of flowers.

It's a "Salvia" who's name is "Hot Lips", isn't that a wonderful name. It's a wonderful plant too, flowers from now until the frost and stays about 3 feet high with pruning in March. I've done a closeup to show the "lips"

Thankful Heart

Hi Everyone, I have just realised that this is my 1001 post, incredible, I can't believe it, it's one of those things I do without thinking of numbers. I want to thank you for your support and seeming to enjoy what I post. AND I just realised that this is a Thank You card, well I never, coincidences continue to happen.

Anyhow onto my card today which is for the Outlawz sketch challenge

Baby card

Hi Everyone, my card today was done on a whim, I saw the image and decided to make a card with it, sadly no babies around us at the moment.  I haven't used Elizabeth's Dulemba's images for ages and they deserve a post.

This is another of my scheduled posts, as I can't find a reason for the random non access to the design area of my blog and DT blogs. So when I can access my blog dashboard I keep it open all day, so that any project I may do, I can make a post with it. Anyhow on to my card.

Fireworks

Hi Everyone, my card today was delayed as I couldn't get into the design area again, so annoying. Anyhow, I made this for

http://themaleroomchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/

background digital paper - Marisa Lerin Pixelscrapper
with a gradient overlay in PS
I made the sentiment in PS
fireworks - are the BIG kind, the kind that go with a BIG BANG!
I cut them out with the Cameo, then twisted some brown packing paper I had, to make it look (hopefully) like the big  expensive fireworks. (In my mind)
I added silver card cut offs, which I lined with Spectrum Noir markers, added them to the "fireworks" and added a star button.
Stunning makes again from my Teamies, go have a looky.

Make a wish

Hello Everyone, if you're in the UK, hope you're coping with the heat, which we are not used too, very unusual to have 30C at 4pm, which it was yesterday, still we know it won't last LOL.

On to my card today, which had me struggling for some reason. Then a spark ignited and here it is. It's for the Outlawz Sketch challenge. It's not a good photo as I took it quite late, apologies for that.

I have used numerous designers for the various elements and papers, if there are any you particularly like, please email me and I will let you know the designer.

Country Scene

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for

Anything Goes Challenge
you can use any image.

I chose this image as, to me, it is an English river scene, so lush and green, where you can go for a river boat ride and enjoy the the peace and beautiful countryside. Are you transported to it? My card is very simple, but I really like it.

I added a digital frame and let the roses fall over it

Beauty

Hi Everyone, my post today is for the Outlawz Progressive challenge and we have the most beautiful image from Andrea at Sheepski Designs.

I wanted this image to be light and floaty, don't ask me why, I'm quite the opposite, I wanted her to merge with the background and I think I got there in the end.

After finding paper I liked from a mini digital kit, I followed the colours of it, colouring it digitally, then added a gradient overlay, I added the elements from the kit, PS brushed a shadow effect to the image all in PS. Because I think she's beautiful, I added the word "beauty" then printed it out.

I used grey and red card which luckily matched the image, then die cut into the card and cut an edge from the same die to add to the bottom, now I'm not sure if I should have done that, oh! well it's done now.

Blooming Tag

Hi Everyone, my card today is for the Outlawz sketch challenge and this week it was a Tag, my mind went wild, a tag card, a tag for numerous occasions, add a tag to a card? that's what I went with, but to what card, I hadn't used my Cameo for a few days or so, so decided to have a look at what I have, found this pretty cut file and then went for images in my files to match. This is the outcome and I'm quite pleased with it, I even used a "real" stamp! can you believe it?

Card cut file - Shirley's Cards
to which I cut in half and placed over green card, I added mirror gems
and yellow centres to the flowers with Spectrum Noir pens.
tag dp and images - Carin Grobe Designs

Off The Edge TMR

Hello Everyone, my post today is for the
http://themaleroomchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/
I decided to make a card for Father's Day for my hubby and use an image I've not used before. I also did something I've not done before, that was to part cut a die. (Off the edge) I did it 4 times, before it was right, well you have to don't you LOL. After I managed to get the image cut out, I added another circle to layer it on, 3D'd the girl, glossed the water and bubbles, added Dovecraft 3D pearl effects. I then added the insert, I know hubby will enjoy the joke.

Please go and see what my wonderful teamies have done, they are all so VERY imaginative .

Cuppa tea

Hi Everyone, my card today is for the Outlawz sketch challenge, I've got in just in time again. I have decided to try and use items that I haven't used or haven't used for a while, I have so many digital stamps and papers, that should be used, so here is a start.

tea pots and name papers - Marisa Lerin @ Pixelscrapper

I thought I would show you our garden, hope I don't bore you with these photos. They were taken over the weekend, when it was cloudy, but still looked lovely I think. Hubby has worked a lot of hours and there isn't a weed to be seen. BUT the washing line is there ready for me to hang out when the rain stops LOL.

Clematis, roses, aqualegia and sweet peas to grow up the frame

fabulous flowers this year on the Physocarpus

Acer tree, runner beans with tagetes in front, Rhododendron going over, orange Azeala, Fatsia Japonica, Pieris, Sedum, Spirea, Solomons Seal, and a few others.

Another view of the border into the garden, so lush this year

I love this combination of the Kniphofia, the orange rose, which I don't know the name of and the pieris. Lots still to come here.

This is the orange rose with a strong beautiful perfume.

This is a David Austin Old Rose, with a heady perfume, and I've forgotten the name!

Hippie Birthday

Hi Everyone, while I am able to get into Blogger, I am scheduling a post or 2!

My card for you today, just in time for a friend of ours, is something that came to me after seeing the sentiment, all I had to do is get an image and voilĂ .  This was that easy! UNTIL it came to colouring, then it was what colours to choose.

I found some digi paper and went with the colours from that, which I think are very 60's / 70's and yes, I am old enough to remember them LOL, I am a frustrated hippie, Mum wouldn't allow me to be like that, I always had to be "classic" style, now I have problems in what style I am, even at my age. I do have a couple of what is called gypsy skirts, that's the closest I get to "hippie" style.

Anyhow here are the details of my card.

Moo Thanks

Hi Everyone, after trying 20 times and even shutting down, I eventually got into the dashboard, I must have a setting wrong somewhere as it's so random that it happens.

Anyhow, my card today I have to admit to loving, because I have a thing for cows. I expect it's from living a few doors away from a farm when we were young and cows coming into the garden and munching Mum's flowers. I remember one evening Mum, whilst she was ironing, screaming in shock, she hadn't expected 2 big eyes looking into the window at her, until she realised it was a cow.

I did spend a long while colouring her and decided she would be a Jersey Cow, because they are beautiful creatures and this is one beautiful cow. (Although we grew up with Holstein cows, black and white.)
