DSC # 103 Oriental

It's time for a new challenge at

 Digitally Sweet Challenges

the Theme is

Oriental

sponsored by  Lacy Sunshine

My DT choice from Lacy Sunshine is "Emily's Kimono". I thought it so pretty.

I couldn't wait to use this, as I love Oriental images.  I haven't made a mistake and left her face white or even made her a Goth, she is "Geisha" so would have have a white face and eyes rimmed with red.  Red is a lucky colour in the Far East so I gave her a red kimono and gold for luxury.  I made the bridge in PS with PS shapes.  I hope I have done her justice.

The gold of her parasol and obi is a DP by Aveziur - Winter Wedding kit.
The cherry blossom is by Summer Driggs - Dance with me kit.
The Japanese text background is "Japanese writing background", which I have had for a long time, - no designer I'm sorry.
The Teapot etc. in the corner is a PS brush by Jonathan S Harris at Deviant Art.
The font is Japanese Style
The gold and red background is a PS shape, coloured in PS.

This is the printed card with layered image and added sparkle.

Teacher Thank you card

Hi Everyone I know I am a little late! with this kind of post, but I haven't posted a card for a while with an Elizabeth Dulemba image and remembered this one.  It was made for a friend's daughter who was leaving her school.  The card was for her English teacher the butterfly book was a perfect image I thought for this.

Thought I would show the others I had to do too.  She wanted 3 for "Special" teachers.  All had to be yellow and blue, the school colours and had to have the school badge too.  Anyhow here are the others.

My DT card for today has this digi "bj_blackwidow" the DP's are by Doodle Boys at Stitchy Bear, it was one of the digis we had to play with and as our friends birthday was coming up, I decided to go with this, he will appreciate the humour behind it.

I had an awful lot of fun painting this image in PS, although her suit is all ready done, I used glitter styles for her cuffs, belt and gun, then coloured her hair and face and added shadows to her and the papers.  Inside I added - "... we'll ban you from going on holiday for your birthday" he and his wife will be in Spain for his birthday!

This is the printed card, the top layers are 3D'd and I decided to put the sentiment over the edge.

Cut Baby card a case

Hi Everyone, I'm here again this week with a card I did after seeing this one HERE I loved it, and, as I had to do a baby card quickly, it meant I didn't have to think what to do.

I already had this file by Scrapcationgetaway blog (but had never used it), so just had to cut it out and follow Bonnie's layout voila! all done.  I decided to cut the deer out in pinky colours from an old Papermania card pack. Then had to try and get the text on the print out to match, I am quite pleased with it all, even though the colours I chose are different to what I had imagined.  The embossing folder is by Cart-Us.

I love chocolate LOL.

Hi Everyone, it's been such a long time since I entered the Meljens challenges, I made a special effort with this one as it is "Splat" and I have seen so many fabulous cards using a "splat" that I just had to make a card with a "splat" I love that word too LOL. I even managed to take the photo of the card outside, after taking it blowing down a few times!

I added some Stickles and 3D Gloss and left it at that. I just hope this is acceptable for the challenge as it is digitally made.  (fingers crossed)

I used the beautiful "Winter Stream" image and sentiments by  Rosiland Solomon at Exclusive Sparkle and Sprinkle.  I wanted to do something different, not too different though - you know me LOL. So I decided to do a pink/lavender Winter scene. My influence for the colours are due to the photos of the sky the other night.

I copied the digi image and altered it to place on the tag, I coloured or slightly changed the colour of items in PS. I also added a muted sun over the mountains. The layout is my own design, hope I've done that OK, I'm not much good at that.

1 image is the Winter Stream digi
2 papers are Winterwonderland kit at Pixel Scrapper and
pink and white dots from Pixelberrypie
3 embellishments
pink gems swirl by Dawn by Designs
pink tag by Gina Jane
pink knotted ribbon by Shelle Primavera

Just want to show you one of my previous attempts of this image, not something I usually do, but I liked this too, hope you do.

This is the printed card, shame you can't see the glittery sparkle it is lovely, although you may just see the icicles or the stream marks of the glitter. It is also on the tag. No sun here today - no sparkle :(

The colours printed are more lavendery and not as bright as on my computer screen, but I am still pleased with it.  Love the image.

Here are the photos that influenced me although a bit brighter, a gorgeous sky.

Son's birthday card

Hi Everyone, hope you are all OK. this Sunday morning.

Today's card is for my son, who will be 38 tomorrow, although to mention age is an anathema to him, so what do I do - of course - mention his age - frequently! I'm a bad Mum. LOL.

I was wondering what to do for him this year, when I had a follower new stamps email and what was it? but "Video Game Guy" just perfect for a chap who spends most of his time on the computer, whether gaming - more than a lot! watching catch up television, researching, reading etc etc. (He has agoraphobia with a few other problems,) As he tells me his computer is his window to the world.

I paper pieced the chair and the guy's top with the DP's and coloured the image in PS, added a texture DP to the floor area and coloured the "wall" area to match the DP's.  Printed it all out and layered the DP's and 3D'd the Guy and the television/monitor.  Added buttons, which now look black instead of the dark blue I thought they were, blast it!  That'll teach me to make something late in the evening, with just a small light on.  I don't think he would notice. Although he does make comments on cards I make, 99% are very positive I'm glad to say.

The image is Bugaboo
The DP's are by Memory Clips from a digi kit Old Sport.
Sentiment is from Create with TLC.

Monkey Business!

Hi Everyone hope you are OK if you have the rain etc. from "Bertha", at the moment we have had nothing but it is clouding over and we expect some issues tomorrow.  Oh! well the summer couldn't last for ever could it?

My card today is a fab fun monkey. I used a ready coloured image for a change then cut out the monkeys and 3D'd them, I also copied a banana from the DP and made them into a group and layered 3 times. I added 3D gloss to the eyes and of course some sparkle with Stickles. The sentiment is also from the set.

The images and DP's were a freebie in the progressive challenge at Deedee's Digis which I was lucky enough to be eligible for.
