Hi Everyone, my DT post for today is for
After looking through my Christmas stamps, I decided to use the Christmas Roses and the oval leaves from the same set, stamped and embossed in gold. I then coloured both in DI's. The robin was found in my bits box, already coloured, and he was just what I wanted for this male card. Both sat on my desk for weeks, with me wondering how to use them. I found a sketch online that helped me place them, so off to my dies. I cut the oval and dry embossed it. I added the same green as the leaves to wipe over the embossing. I flipped it and placed the oval to enable the flowers to show.
The flowers were added with 3D pads onto the leaves, and they were then 3D'd onto the oval. The Robin also had 3D pads added and then placed onto the oval. I wasn't sure which sentiment to choose, but this popped out to me. It was stamped and embossed in gold. The flowers, leaves, and sentiment were then painted over with a gold shimmer pen. Next, I used gold paint to splatter onto the whole card. It's a lovely effect in real life.

I must admit that the embossed oval looks beautiful with the sweet Robin and flowers. I also love splatters, as you may know Faith, haha, everything gets splatters here, haha. This is a gorgeous card. xx
ReplyDeleteA lovely little scene and the embossed oval is the perfect background.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Christmas card, love the floral border and little Robin-we have two visit our garden every day so they must be a pair as they are very territorial.

What perfect splatters. you have used the oval and flower spray to great effect. The robin looks very happy sitting on his handle xx
ReplyDeleteIt’s a lovely design Faith, we have a little robin who is a regular visitor to our garden until the pigeons scare him off. I love the splatter effect too. Hope you are OK xx
ReplyDeleteDo love a Robin at any time of year but especially Christmas. We're lucky to have a couple of pairs, living well apart from each others territories.

so beautiful a card
ReplyDeleteOoh what a gorgeous Christmas card Faith. Love the little Robin sitting on the spade handle and all the dimension in this card. xxx
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely Christmas card, Faith! Little bird perched on the handle is such a sweet addition to the scene.
ReplyDeleteI don't usually emboss on the mat for the image but I really like this! I guess I'll have to give it a try. Hope you are doing okay. Take care friend.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Faith. Splatters are always good.
ReplyDeleteYou have pulled off a very difficult theme for a male card...while the men in my family are farmers and gardeners and surround themselves with flowers they wouldn't appreciate a full on floral card - only as accents - so your design works very well and love the embossed panel x
ReplyDeleteSo elegant, Faithie. I know it will be treasured. xox
ReplyDeleteWhat an absolutely beautiful card!
ReplyDeleteOh, what a truly beautiful card! The colors are so lovely, and the bird is absolutely stunning.
ReplyDeleteYour card is so beautiful with the bird on top the shovel handle! Gorgeous pink flowers, too!
