Hi Everyone, my card today is for my Great, Great Niece, who was 7 years earlier this month. She is a real little lady, so I thought I would do a very pink card for her, after finding a lovely paper pad in my stash.
I used a celebration number, cut with my Silhouette, it's the same alphabet as this card. I think it looks so different cut in a colour. A back layer was cut for the 7 in silver mirror card. Her name, Dorothy, was also added inside the top of the 7.
I then hand cut 2 layers of different card to back the number, the lower layer has stars on it, although they can't be readily seen, the stars match the star on the number. I punched the corners to round them for a softer feel, I thought.
The next layer has some pretty bows. I thought I would add a bow to the 7 to tie it all together. I love the 3 layer design of the bow, with cut centres to the top layer.
Sparkle pen was added to the number, which shows up in real life, but the camera doesn't pick it up. She is always thrilled with her cards and on a visit in August, was delighted to see where I make my cards for her and her siblings.
Fab pink number card Faith … perfect for the recipient and occasion xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet card. I was fortunate enough to meet one set of my GP's and they taught me so much. Thank you for sharing. WakeyL

ReplyDeleteIts so nice that she gets to play with her Great grandfather, I remember my Great grandmother well, but the rest had sadly passed. xx
Your card really is very sweet and certainly girly and very suitable for a little lady, in this case Dorothy.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful pink, girly card Faith.
ReplyDeleteYour brother is amazingly fit - only 86 years between the pair of them! xxx
What a fun pink number birthday card! Love all those little pink bows, too!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous girly card for Dorothy and lovely photo of Iris and your brother. I think having a 'great' family member is still quite rare, none in my family.
ReplyDeleteSweet and feminine card for your little great great niece, you rock that Silhouette for sure~! And your brother is amazing, with a full head of hair too. My Dad was active and spry at 88 but he'd never have been able to do that, lol. I had one great grandmother still alive when I was born and I visited her, there's pictures, but I don't really have any memories other than the nursing home smelled funny (haha). I think I was 8 when she passed. XOX
ReplyDeleteA very girly card so I think she will love it!! like how you put her name in the 7! Clever lady!!
ReplyDeleteThat truly is a very sweet and precious card for your great great niece. I am amazed that her great grandfather can still get down on his knees to play with her younger sister at his age too. I'm 80 and haven't been able to get down on my knees for about ten years now LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat as lovely card Faith - ans also what a doll the wee girls is! Happy days.
