Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for We Love Stamping. This month, we
would love to see your cards with the theme from Brenda - A long post on Florals.
So many Floral stamps, what to choose? Most of my stamps are from a subscription magazine, that has helped me in my use of stamps.
I selected a bouquet of flowers stamp, but decided to add a mask and make it a round shape, with blue DI. I then cut it with a square die. Next I splashed some gold ink onto the base card, let it dry and added the square die florals. I didn't know where I was going, but decided to stamp separate flowers, colour them and fussy cut them, and add them to the left upper corner. Then I stamped the sentiment, which just about fit into the lower right corner. Next I stamped the bow and added that too. I'm not too sure about the flowers on the top, one minute I think I made a mistake in adding them, then I like them, they're added now so will have to be OK.
I can't show the insert as it has already been posted.
I hope to see your Fabulous Florals in the challenge.
Don't forget, we now require At least one stamped element on entries. Those of you like us, who love to stamp, we would still love you to enter your fully stamped entry.
Tulips would be my first guess Faith, gorgeous colour.
ReplyDeleteThe gold embossing on your floral card adds a real touch of luxury along with the fresh summer colours (not the word summer - it's coming they say!).

What a pretty card you've made Faith. Love the circle idea, and heat embossing always ups the appeal on a handmade card.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't have recognised the flowers as tulips. Bet they looked lovely in full bloom.

Beautiful floral card, Faithie!
ReplyDeleteNever would have guessed tulip except for the variegated color.
Nowadays with all the cross-propagating to get new species, I don't doubt it.

A beautiful floral card and a lovely layout. I think your tulips are the variety known as Parrot tulips.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful floral card Faith - and I would not have guessed tulip - I was leaning more towards an anemone, as you said it had been stepped on...

ReplyDeleteGorgeous card for WLS birthday;-))m
ReplyDeleteIt's always a delightful challenge to choose from a plethora of floral stamps, especially those from subscription magazines that offer a variety of options. Your creative process of masking, shaping, and splashing gold ink adds depth and character to the card, and the stamped sentiment and bow bring everything together beautifully, despite any initial uncertainties about the flower placement.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful floral card Faith, love the colours and painting of them with distress inks..

Beautifully coloured flowers Faith and love the gold ink splatter on the background, and a pretty bow to finish. Not sure I would have spotted that they are tulips, but they must be the really crinkly edged type and they do look lovely fully open like that, which gives then a totally different look and such a pretty deep pink too. x
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous floral display on your card Faith, will definitely make someone smile! Wow I never would have guess tulips!!
ReplyDeleteAw, they are so beautiful never would have guessed they are tulips. I love the colour. As for our card, it is so beautifully coloured and the splash (literally) of gold is a perfect touch.
