Hello Everyone, it was my birthday on Saturday, too near to that big 80, where did the time go? On a shopping trip, to a store, a few miles away, after a couple of years of not visiting. I saw packs of prepacked, 6 small chocolate chip muffins, just a mouthful size, for a £1.00, that I thought would go well for a birthday gift from me for my walking group. A sort of slice of my birthday cake for them.
Of course, I go to my Silhouette for cutting, but I had to hunt in my files for a box to fit, I couldn't find something suitable, so decided to make a design fit. It didn't take long. A paper pad bought recently, although, I told myself I wasn't going to buy anything this year. I HAD too, it was so pretty and only £2.99 for 24 sheets of double sided paper 250gsm. A bargain!
Anyhow, the box and the different shaped lid, which was narrow at the back and dipped to the front, a lovely shape, were cut and glued together. The cake inserted, and then I thought I would add a little something to the lid. I die cut a flower and coloured it with markers. Attached to the top, all done. None of them are crafters, so I hope they like them. I will give them to the group tomorrow, great with a cuppa and chat after our walk.
I want to thank the ladies who sent me beautiful birthday cards, I'm so happy you thought of me. Thank you.
Here are the templates, such a pretty shaped lid. I hope I've not done wrong in putting them here, they are freebies, from Simply Cards & Papercraft #250 on the website. Perhaps you can size them to suit too?
Onto comments on Blogs. I was in the middle of commenting, OK, I was a bit behind as some of you know, but, after quite a number of comments, I got a message saying - I had come to the end of my allowance for that day. Or words to that effect. Anyone else come across it?
Happy belated birthday Faith - hope you had a great day. I would have loved to send you a card if i had known!! These little cake boxes are so sweet .. I'm sure your walking group will be thrilled with them.
ReplyDeleteI have never come across the maximum comments situation, but I'm sure I've read where someone else said the same thing. Sorry can't help!

ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Birthday Faith, I'm sorry I missed it on time. What a thoughtful gift to share with your friends in making those cute little treat boxes filled with tiny bite-sized cakes. I often get that message Faith, most often when I've missed a day challenge commenting and it prevents me continuing. I have found though that if you leave it for a few hours you can usually carry on.
ReplyDeleteOnto your goody boxes, what a lovely idea, I'm sure they will be well recieved.

You're always so creative making things work and what a wonderful result this time! Lucky group of ladies! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. And yes, I've gotten some sort of message in the past when I tried to do a lot of commenting. These days, I accept that I'm not going to keep up and don't spend so much time on my computer. Life is short and there's cardmaking to be done--haha!

Happy belated birthday lovely Faith! I hope you had the best day and were spoilt rotten! Loving your pretty boxes and thanks for sharing the design. Of course you had to buy that paper pad - £2.99 is a small price to pay for that amount of pleasure! And it's considerably cheaper than a yacht!! Vicky x
ReplyDeleteHi Faith - sending belated birthday wishes your way.
ReplyDeleteYour cute little boxes are delightful and I bet they (and their contents) went down well and were much appreciated.
Never seen or heard of the commenting message you mentioned, so can't help.

Good news, Faith! I missed your birthday, but I also forgot how old you are!! LOL Happiest of birthdays, hope you celebrate all year round. And a big thank you for your praise and support on my blog. I do feel less anxious about the clutter, happier with knowing the donations are going to a budding new crafter, and and glad to have increased my stash of cards! Just finished another batch, as well as finishing decluttering my 12x12 papers.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a belated Happy Birthday Faith, and hope you had a lovely day. Your little cake boxed are so pretty and a sweet little chocolate chip muffin in each. I see you have had an answer to your commenting message, but must admit I have never had that message, but perhaps I haven't done a large enough amount at one time. x
