Hi Everyone, hope you're all well, and getting used to darker nights.
My card today was for my Niece's Grandson, who is 4 this week, how time flies. I didn't know what to do for him, so decided on this friendly monster digital stamp, which I coloured in Photoshop, to match the colourful paper from a digital kit I chose. I took the oval, monster, greeting, a star shape from the same digi kit as the paper, onto which I added the greeting and age, into Silhouette to print and cut them, using 3 layers of each.
Next, I added a stitched border to the background paper and printed it out to size. All the layers were glued together, then attached to the background paper, which was attached to the base card. I then added 3d glaze to the number, sparkle pen to the parcel ribbon and the buttons on the bottom.
Time has been of the essence these last few weeks, so a card that could be put together quickly without much thought was good for me. I find digital kits so handy to do this. What is your quickest way to make a card?
Hi Faith, this is a wonderful, colourful card for a child. great image and so much colour, such fun.
ReplyDeleteI really don't mind the darker nights, they seem fitting at this time of year, its not like we can go sit out in the storms is it, haha, so I can cope with it just fine, until after Christmas, then, its where oh where is Spring :)) xx
How cute is this little monster? I love what you're able to do with digital images and papers, this is just perfect for a little one!
ReplyDeleteI think it's perfect for a little lad Faith, the seems to love3 colours at that age and the friendly monster will make him smile.

Fabulous colourful card and p.paper-love the cute monster-perfect for a 4yrs old.I have made quick cards which almost make themselves-but get asked for something specific and mojo takes a hike.I was asked for a Golden Wedding anniversary card for one of Johns oldest friends-so one from him to give his wife and obviously one from us-overthinking went into overdrive and pinterest didn't help up to now I have 6 half finished cards !!!

Such a fun, vibrant card Faith, the little one is bound to love it. My quickest way for cards is always with my Silhouette but I do use digikits sometimes too xx
ReplyDeleteFab fun and Happy card for a small boy … you are so clever with the Silhouette I haven’t got a clue about anything like that … which may explain why there is no such thing as a “quick card” from me lol! I’m so slow it’s embarrassing … I can spend 2 hours making a CAS card lol!

Just adorable, Faithie! The monster is perfect for a boy, I used him for my great nephew's card last year and it was a hit. You've done a fab coloring job and great backing papers as well. About the time change, I was just getting used to the sunrise coming later and now it's earlier, makes me think they wait too long to do the time change. I really wish they'd decide on one and just stick to it year round. It's not nice to fool with Mother Nature! LOL XOX
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet and colourful card for this four year old Faith..just adore that cute monster with his parcel layered onto the bright yellow oval, and the sweet rainbow effect on the stars for the sentiment and number, and the stitching and buttons look so effect as part of the bright rainbow coloured background. Great to be able to cut it on your Silhouette too. I was looking at the Cameo recently, but am not sure that I would use it that much as I don't do much digital crafting and would need to be convinced it would be worthwhile, especially as I don't have a lot of space for crafting. x
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely fun card. Just perfect for a 4 year old. making cards and being quick just don't go together for me xx
ReplyDeleteLove your monster card!! It is so colorful and fun!!

That has to be the cutest monster ever Faith - and the most colourful! I think it will go down a treat with your niece's grandson! I think stencils are my go-to for a quick card at the moment - the layered stencils are brilliant! Vicky x
ReplyDeleteThe dark nights have definite plus and minus points Faith! I love your cute card, perfect for a 4 year old. When I was selling cards they where 99% digital or I would never have gotten them done. But, I gave my cutting machine to my daughter so had to hand cut everything which took a bit of time!!
