Thank You card

Hi Everyone, I'm hoping you have better weather than us today, we have had rain, although it stopped dried up and came down again, and it's quite chilly too, a real Autumnal day in this part of Wales.

I had a “Thank You” card to make for a lovely blog friend who helped me out with an image she stamped and sent to me for birthdays due next year. It was perfect for the men it goes to. Many thanks, you know who are you are.

I inked an embossing folder and, and as it had a heart die cut centre design, I put it at an angle, it wasn't as successful inking as I wanted. This is the best, the third time of trying.

I had seen the sentiment stamp and bought it a while ago, because I thought it conveyed the thanks beautifully, in the lovely, twirly, special design.

The embossing folder was inked with DO's matching the gold, I hoped, and as I said, placed onto the card diagonally, then I stamped and embossed the sentiment in gold, isn't it gorgeous? I added the layer to gold mirror card and then onto the base card. Quite simple, I wish it had been that simple to do, how do you ladies get such perfect inking on your embossing folder?

embossing folder - Magazine freebie SC&P
ink pad -  Distress Oxide mustard seed
sentiment stamp - Inkylicious
embossing powder - Altenew Antique gold

  2. THis is just gorgeous and so elegant with all the gold! I love that colored and embossed panel, but like you - I've failed every time I've made an attempt to color an embossed panel! If you find the secret, let me know :) I love this!

  4. I know what you mean about getting good clean ink transfer with an embossing folder. I have trouble too, but I think your looks pretty good to me. Sometimes we just want things to be perfect and of course they never are. Love the white and gold too xx

  6. I don't get perfect ink on my embossing folders or at least it looks like I do until I actually emboss and then it's rubbish so I avoid it. Yours looks amazing, perfect and so beautiful in gold. Thanks so much for stopping by and for your kind words.

  7. Goodness me this is so elegant Faith, beautifully done and your friend is sure to love it. We had a funny old day yesterday, warmish, cloudish and a chilly wind, neither one thing or the other. Looks like the rain is here for today.

  8. Gorgeous card, Faithie! Well done!
I usually end up having to ink my folder and emboss the image more than once because I always have low spots on the embossing folder where the ink doesn't transfer to the card stock. Next time, I might emboss then put the closed folder under a heavy book on a glass mat or something like that and let it sit for awhile, before even checking it. The Lavinia Stamps lady always preaches to leave your stamp on what you are stamping for a good long while to let all the ink transfer, so maybe the same principle applies to embossing folders, eh? Worth a try. XOXOX

  9. Faithie, I forgot to add because it just occurred to me, lol. I just realize that the video I watched a long time ago, the lady inked her folder, put the cardstock down over the inking, closed the folder, then ran it through like that, upside down or the raised portion down (the front of the folder). I never do that, so maybe that's the problem. And when I put it under the book, I'm gonna put it front side down as well. Perhaps the back of the folder pushes the paper up against the inked front better that way????? XOX

  19. What a gorgeous card Faith - love your embossing, but I can understand your frustration - I inked an embossing folder the other day, and needed to place a flower very strategically ;)
Your thank you stamp is exquisite
