Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for
A great challenge ay? I had too many options, so decided to go CAS.
I haven't a clue how this card came about, as it started as something else, then I saw the bee, Ah! stripes! I have a dots embossing folder, dots and stripes, of course! And so it began. I used some scrap card and stamped the bee, then coloured it and used sparkle ink for the wings and 3D glaze for his eyes. I fussy cut it. The scrap card was even big enough to cut a square, which I embossed with the EF.
The sentiment was stamped onto another piece of scrap, with a stamp I was very lucky to win in the #455 Snippets Playground Challenge, I even got a glass of champagne in the treehouse! Then noticed even the sentiment has dots.
I needed something to "ground" the dots square, so I embossed a square die (with stitched dots) into the card. The dots square was placed inside it and the bee and sentiment was 3D'd onto it. A few more dots than stripes, but I think it's OK, seeing as the stripes are more prominent?
bee stamp - QKR Stampede
inks - Distress Ink, mustard seed, fossilised amber, tumbled glass
sparkle pen - Crafters Companion
3D glaze - Nuvo
sentiment stamp - Woodware
sentiment die - Tonic
dots embossing folder - Cuttlebug
square die - Tonic
outer die embossed - Sue Wilson Noble Square die
I'll play at Snippets Playground
these are the snippet pieces of card I used
A smart new look blog (hopefully I didn't miss before and it's been there ages!).
ReplyDeleteToday's card is real fun and so striking with all the white space, makes the focal elements really pop.

My kind of card Faith, I love CAS design, this one is stunning, and that little Bee is adorable he really is. xx
ReplyDeleteLove the design of this Faith. If it’s not too daft a question, how do you emboss a die into your card ? I like that a lot but don’t understand how to do it without cutting out the due ☺️

ReplyDeleteI love your fabulous card, what a cute little bee, it's a great design too, Kate x
ReplyDeleteIt's great, love the embossed frame. It came together really well xx
ReplyDeleteWow, such fabulous CAS!!! Love so much the way you layered the embossed square on the outer embossed squares and the bee is so cute!
ReplyDeleteSo, so pretty. Think the stripes a red there OK, just love it.
ReplyDeleteLovely design Faith, I have that embossing folder and I think it gets used more than anything else because I think it looks so effective even though it is just dots ! The little bee is so cute too xx
ReplyDeleteGenius, Faithie! Love the little bee and the sentiment is perfect, as is your arrangement of snippets. I'm strangely into using my snippets to make something out of right now. My brain and body have both been taken over by the horrible summer heat and drought here, so I'm just going with it as long as it interests me to take my mind off the weather. XOX
ReplyDeleteWhat a great cas card Faith.
ReplyDeleteA great take on the challenge it looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteOh what a great fun card, this little guy would bring a smile to anyone's face ... I'm just dotty about him!

ReplyDeleteSuper adorable! The embossed square with the bee is definitely the "bee's knees!"
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely bee card and the perfect sentiment to go with it too! Loving the embossing.
ReplyDeleteI am SO sorry Faith, but we have a Christmas theme for the current Snippets Playground challenge, and we only allow 1 entry per challenge, so I have had to remove this entry. I think all those champagne bubbles up in the treehouse went to your head! xxx
You have used the dots and stripes theme perfectly on this fun design, Faith. That little bee is just too cute!
ReplyDeleteThis is super cute and in Faith. I was so focussed on the mini dots that I nearly missed the stripes that you’ve also cleverly got on your card! X
ReplyDeleteA lovely CAS card Faith! Love the embossed background and that little bee is a cutie! Congratulations on your win at The Snippets Playground :) Vicky x
ReplyDeletePS Photographing the cards is the hardest part in my opinion!!

ReplyDeleteYour bee looks like he should read the sentiment as it looks a little sad, sad but cute. Love the Casness on this beauty definitely, less is more with that pop of colour.
