Police helmet

Hi Everyone, I'm still in trouble with Blogger, but I have clicked on certain blogs in the email and have been able to go through to them, but not all. I'll keep trying and see what happens.

My card today is for my Godsons's son, who has followed his father into the Police. He has just "Passed Out" so I made this card for him. I looked online for a British "Bobby" hat and was able to download one and take it into my Silhouette and make a background for it to sit on. The helmet shape is out of black card and the background layer is silver mirror card. I loved that the badge was included, so cut that too. Sounds so simple, doesn't it? But it did take me a little while to get the background, as the helmet was in parts. Before adding it to the card with 3D pads, I curved it a little and curved the front down.

I also added and cut the sentiment in Silhouette.  I didn't think there should be any embellishments, although thinking about it now, perhaps handcuffs, OH! Well, too late now, he should have received it by now.

helmet - PNGKEY
sentiment font - Flitte

I also did another card after it. I had been out to The Range and found a few dies that were silly prices, so I bought them! As you do. They are small, so I thought I had better see what they were like on a card, or had I made a silly buy. Well, it turns out I was pleased with the size.

I decided to see what I could do with an all die card, and this is the result. I cut all the flower and the butterfly dies, (they were £1.99) and coloured them simply with marker pens, then die cut a square and coloured with DO's to match the flowers. I cut a couple of butterflies to add as I thought it a little plain, I have real difficulty with CAS cards. Do you think I could have left the butterflies off? I also added a frame around the whole and added a die cut sentiment also.

Flower Dies - Violet Studio Designs (Crafters Companion)
inks - Distress Oxides shaded lilac, tumbled glass, worn lipstick
markers - Spectrum Noir
frame - Sue Wilson, square Noble dies
frame butterflies - Tattered Lace
central square die and sentiment die - forgotten - sorry

Hi Everyone, just a short post. Is anyone having trouble with Bloglovin. I haven't been able to access it for 4 / 5 days. I have contacted them, with no answer.

It just keeps telling me -

Please know I have not been ignoring you, but trying every few hours to see if it is back online, OR is it only me.

The only Blogs I have commented on are the ones that I have with an email link or the ones through "Follow it". I'd appreciate any comments about this, or ways to get back in, I am signed in by the way. I miss your blogs 😒

Just a couple of photos of the garden so you can see piccies as well as my plea!

a new pompom Dahlia for us

this Carnation was a cutting from a bouquet from last year

the top right of the garden, just showing, to the left,  the steps Hubby decided to make a couple of weeks ago. Not bad for an old man ay? hahaha

these were supposed to be outdoor trailing tomatoes! hubby added a shelf underneath the garage window facing onto the garden, we have tomatoes growing, so we'll see if they are "cherry" type or normal when they grow. HOWEVER! the right plant had one of its stems snap in the wind and rain of recent days. It had lots of tomatoes to ripen, too. Boo Hoo.

Post Box

Hi Everyone, a card today being sent over the pond. I thought it would hopefully be British enough? I stamped the image and using a mask I made and cut from the stamped image, then added little odd stamps to make more of a scene, I coloured everything in DI's, the tree was sponged to make it a Summer tree with a  makeup sponge. I 3D'd the main image onto the card base. That simple really. I hope it's liked.

Hi! QKR

Hi Everyone, my post today is for

We will select two winners each of the weeks
1 using QKR Stampede  or Eureka Stamps image
 and 1 using any image!

Anything Goes every 1st & 15th of the month

One of my teammates at QKR, Sioban, uses 2 or more of QKR images on her cards, so today, I thought I would try and put two together and here is my offering. I love the happy Bee and used him a few times, the ladybug is a good match I think? Anyhow, I took them into my Cameo and cut all the layers out, 3 of each, including the sentiment, which is just using a font and cutting it!

I stencilled a background with DO's, coloured the images in Watercolour pencils, then for a bit of shimmer used gold and silver paint to make the bee's wings shine and added gold to the flower petals and the sentiment. I also added glaze to the eyes of the bug and bee. When I made this, the weather was not too good, making it difficult to photograph. I've added another photo showing the layers, you can also see a little of the shine.

floral stencil - not known, it was a gift

Sewing card

Hi Everyone. My card today was one I made for my SiL who is an expert sewer, so I thought this appropriate for her. I also added her face on the control button. I used a wonderful sewing machine by my blog friend Shirley.

I cut the main card and the top shape layer in pearlised card. I embossed the details on navy card, and rubbed over some gold metallic paste. Using the colours of the material for the cotton reels, I cut them out. The scissors were cut into 2 to use mirror card for the bottom. I used the cut shape in the file to cut the material and placed it on the shaped card. The sentiment was cut from the same navy card.

I placed a die cut leaf inside to add a little something with the stamped sentiment, as you can see in the first photo. I added it after I took the photo, as I thought it a little plain.

I have already added this to my FB page, but I thought I would add it here too, as it is so funny, I think! It's a little shaky as I had the camera on a long zoom and couldn't hold it still. They are using the butterfly net over the veg, protecting them from the carrot fly.

Zombie!

Hi Everyone, my card today is a make for a zombie challenge, I had to enter. I have a few zombie images in my files and thought this one is adorable? I've had him since 2008 and this is the first time I've used it. Anyhow, I took him into my Silhouette cut 3 layers out, added a sentiment to a piece of paper digitally and cut that out also, I then embossed the background and added DO's to give it a bit of atmosphere. A fun make for me. I followed the FMS sketch 542.

Monochrome TMR

Hi Everyone my card today is for

My card today was a "forgot to get" order card from my Son, this was the evening before hubby's birthday! Seems I'm on a roll with B&W as in my last post

Anyhow, I had a quick look through my files and found this digital die cut, which I cut with my digital die cutting machine. I had another file that was the HBU2 which I thought could match the first file, so went ahead and cut them out. The "briefs were cut from a double sided paper pad and it was reversed to make the "lining" of the pants, Did I say lining? Who has lining in their briefs, what was I thinking! Must have been the rush.

The sentiments were cut from white card with a black shadow layer. I 3D'd the words and the briefs. Three gems added under Dad and the card was done.  Son was pleased and relieved and Hubby happy too. All's well that ends well ay?

B&W Dad

Hi Everyone, I'm behind showing you this card, I found it amongst a few others I still have to show you. This was for Father's Day, told you I was behind hahaha.

I started by stamping the DAD, then die cutting the letters out with a black card layer added. The sentiment was stamped next and die cut. The car was stamped onto silver mirror card and embossed in silver too. I fussy cut it out. I cut a piece of paper from a pad and laid it onto black card. Simple card and appreciated by my son who requested it and hubby who received it, What more can I want.

Zebra Stripes!

Hi Everyone, I have 2 DT cards today, I hope you will be able to visit each of them, this is for -

Anything Goes but they MUST feature a critter as the main focus
Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter...

My card today was inspired by a quote I came across by accident surfing for something else. I thought it would be good for a celebratory occasion if someone had done something well? A Graduation? Or even attaining a certain age?

Anyhow, I went looking for zebra's in my files and what do you know, I found not only a zebra (a few) but papers also. Off to my Cameo to design the card and cut the zebra and the corner flowers that match the paper.  I cut 3 layers, 3 D'd the zebra, added 3D gloss to his hooves and eye, then after attaching the paper to a layer of black card, I "splotted" some silver ink onto the paper, I also added a little to the centre of the 3 layer cut corner flowers to match. The sentiment was computer generated with a "stripey" font, which I thought suited, and also cut with 3 layers. Although  lots of stripes, I quite like it.

Imperious Lion? QKR

Hi Everyone my one of 2 DT cards today is for the challenge at QKR. Our challenge is on the 1st and 15th of every month, so you have 2 chances every month to enter the challenge.
We will select two winners each of the weeks
1 using QKR Stampede  or Eureka Stamps image
 and 1 using any image!

Anything Goes every 1st & 15th of the month

I saw this wonderful and imperious lion and had to have him, my son's birthday is in August and I decided to use this "Leo" for him. I've been kind to him this year, I haven't added his age! He really doesn't like to be reminded he's 46 and is middle-aged, he says he's still a teenager? I CAN be good sometimes.

I took the image into Silhouette to cut 3 layers of him, and 2 of him in a white background, which I tried to shade with different colours, although it wasn't too successful I decided to go with it. He is coloured with Distress inks. I added the sentiment and cut 3 layers of that also.

I decided on papers to match the background and as the Leo personality is outgoing, so should the paper be. The design papers were also cut out on the Silhouette. I cut 3 layers of circles and attached them before added 3 D glaze to them. The white background was dry embossed for texture and 3D'd onto the main card.
