Happy Beanz Day?

Hi Everyone, the card I have today is for the challenge at QKR. Our challenge is on the 1st and 15th of every month, so you have 2 chances every month to enter the challenge.

We will select two winners each of the weeks
1 using QKR Stampede  or Eureka Stamps image
 and 1 using any image!

Anything Goes every 1st & 15th of the month

My Niece will be 57 in a couple of weeks and I decided to use this wonderful bunny with a gorgeous bow to send her. I am in the middle of wanting cut background shapes for my cards, looking through my dies and files for them, I came across this one from 2015, by my blog friend Shirley, it's supposed to be landscape, but I decided to have it portrait. Off to my digital die cutting machine to print and cut the bunny and sentiment, then to cut the card with cut out flowers.

I coloured the bunny with Distress Inks and water colour pencils adding a "curl" to the fur? (I wish I was a better colourist!) to match the paper, that I have had in my "little" left over bits box, which I added to the card after cutting. I added 3D glaze to her eye, nose and the numbers, that I was able to add in Photoshop. I edged the sentiment with ink. I made up the sentiment, it came to mind with the advertising slogan and the 57!  Yep! you know by now, I have strange thinking, putting my cards together!

Distress Inks - Tumbled Glass, Worn Lipstick, Hickory Smoke
shadows - Nuvo Brilliantly Vibrant Watercolour Pencils
digital paper - Magazine freebie
sentiment - computer generated

  8. Happy belated birthday Faith! I hope you had a really lovely evening with your beloved brothers and their wives and your hubby's sister. This is the stuff that makes us human isn't it - we can face all kinds of adversity with those we love around us. The card you posted is just gorgeous and looks like a beautiful sunny day. We've had a few of those lately but I'm really looking forward to a real bit of warmth! Hugs, Vicky x

  11. Beautiful pink and blue colors and the cut file with the bunny makes it so Spring-y. I have to admit, I Googled the sentiment slogan as I'd never heard it before. Definitely a UK slogan, it appears that particular product/brand has been much more popular over there. We've historically always had Boston baked beans, but it was a regional favorite. I grew up very occasionally eating pork and beans, with really the only baked beans served as bbq baked beans with bbq for many years. Nowadays you're more liable to get pinto beans on a bbq plate. The most popular brand here has always been Bush's and they have a gazillion varieties. Down here where I live though, Ranch Style Beans have the clear top spot. It's like bbq beans. I can't ever really remember eating navy beans in a tomato soup-like sauce, so this is truly a UK food but made by an American company. I find that fascinating! So thank you, I learned something new. It's a brilliant sentiment for your card -- we are very familiar with the Heinz 57 slogan for both their ketchup and steak sauce. Hope you are having a good week, xoxo

  18. You are just to clever Faith! I love this bunny first off and what do you mean you wish you were a better colorist?!! Your coloring looking amazing! I love how you placed the age in the bunnies paws. Too cute! I also love the flower paper and the flower lacy die cut panel. But it is the sentiment that finishes this card off brilliantly even if I might not understand it. lol Big hugs, Brenda

  19. This is such a cute bunny image, but he appears to have had a bit too much of the spirits by his expression :) What a fun card, and I love how you incorporated the 57 between his paws to make it a special birthday for your niece! NJ!
