Hi Everyone, I hope you're all getting your vaccines! We have been told here in Wales we are behind with the roll out! Grr I won't say anymore!
Awfully wet day here, hence dreadful photo that had to be taken 3 times in different areas to try and get something like the colours that it actually is. After putting it under artificial light and a white background I got it, but now it's a very wishy washy background, so I added a black "stroke" to the edge in PS.
I have this fabulous set of stamps I bought, I haven't used them, as although I love the images, I didn't know what to do with them, you clever stampers would have done masses with them. I have been dilly dallying with them for months! yep! literally. I'd take them out and put them back, when this week I told myself off and went for it. I'm actually quite pleased with what I did, I know I should have done more with them, although I did actually use 4 of the set of 9 and one of them 3 times. Whoop whoop. - smiley face. I used my new colours of DO's, then stamped over them and coloured the stamps on top with Di's. Not something you should do I suppose, but it's turned out OK?
stamps - Chocolate Baroque , Sticks & Stones
DO's - Frayed Burlap, Carved Pumpkin, Peeled Paint
DI's - Tea Dye, Hickory Smoke, Forest Moss, Gathered Twigs
textured card - Cross Stitch embossed - Outlet shop
We have storm Christoph coming in, so it will be getting an awful lot wetter, inches of rain are expected from tomorrow, thankfully we live at the top of a hill. I hope not too many people will be affected. It's adding to an already sodden ground.
Enough from me today. Keep safe everyone.
Wow, what a beautiful scene you have created with your new stamps and DO's Faith!! I love how it turned out, it is soft, but yet rugged. The colors are fabulous and I am so loving how ever you stamped/colored this scene. Well done! You definitely did better than I would have been able to do. Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteA very lovely soft serene scene you created! Looks like you had a lot of fun with your new stamps! Lovely images and beautiful background! Our weather here has been chilly and damp in NW Ohio. We did get a bit of snow today, which made things look pretty! Take care and have a good week!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love the scene and how you colored it, and the crisp white border around the edges make it look so elegant! Very nice!
ReplyDeleteYour card is so beautiful, Faith! The coloring is just perfect!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful scene Faith I love the soft colours. I gave up on stamping some time ago as I used to make such a mess ! Hope you get your jab soon, we were very fortunate to get ours so early and no side effects at all. Pouring with rain here this morning so no walking today I think xx
ReplyDeleteI love this, its just beautifully done and the soft colours are perfect to make the images pop.xx
ReplyDeleteHello Faith Simply a lovely scene and yes it did turn out OK!

Awesome result Faith! You nailed it with this gorgeous scene. Your coloring is just stunning.
ReplyDeleteI think you've done a grand job there Faith. Very atmospheric. No reason why you can't mix DIs and DOs - you just have to remember that DIs are transparent dye inks and DOs are opaque hybrid pigments. One layers and the other covers over! xxx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Faith! Lovely scene~
ReplyDeleteOoh, I love the mood you created with this lovely scene, Faith and the earthy colours are perfect for it. I know what you mean about scene stamps though - I have a few sets that I bought after seeing them demonstrated at shows but when I get them home, I can't figure out how to use them lol!
ReplyDeleteHope you are well.
Hugs

You did a good job with the new stamps and I really like how this turned out! Good luck with all that rain coming your way. Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors & lovely card, Faith! We'd get our vaccines if they offered them to us, but not available yet. So frustrating & scary! Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful scenery, Faith. Loving the atmosphere too. I know sometimes you buy a stamp set you really love and once you have it, you just look at it.
ReplyDeleteStormy weather we have too brrrrr!

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning Faith, beautifully coloured with DI, super design too.
ReplyDeleteI have this stamp and have never thought of using it as a focal point in a card, thanks for the inspiration, Kate x
Well, Faith, whatever you did, it's beautiful and take it from this Texas girl, pretty realistic! Brava! Have you had your vaccine? I wish! With my arthritis's, they tell me hold off, not enough info yet on autoimmune diseases. 2 weeks ago, oh no problemo, then people began dying and getting reactions. 11 months next week of home isolation. I'm starting to feel trapped some days. Honey too and he gets out for us. Loooonnnng Siiigggghhh. Hugs xoxo
ReplyDeleteBeautiful scene love the stamps and inky background-we are just off to get our jabs

ReplyDeleteWow! Stunning card!
ReplyDeleteFaith, I can't imagine why you dilly-dallied so long but it obviously resulted in inking splendor. Gorgeous card, my friend, and your color choices are magnificent!
ReplyDeleteFaith, this is such a special card! Your colouring of the beautiful images makes for such a pleasant and unique card. TYFS today! Stay dry and safe! ~Ali (Nova Scotia, Canada)
