Mischief

Hi Everyone, well another lean time in card making or anything else actually. I've tried to keep up with comments, but if I've missed you, my apologies. Anyhow yesterday was not a lean time. I had images on my desk from digital stamps I bought and coloured a few weeks ago and as it was raining (hard). I decided to fill empty time with doing something with these images.

I made an embossing folder and a stencil from horseshoes, well that took a couple of hours, then to put them to good use. I made 4 cards, yep! 4 I am so pleased with them. However I am only going to show you one, so that in lean times I will have something to show you. It has the horseshoes left over from cutting the stencil and ef. The photo isn't good, it was so dark, that even trying to do something in Photoshop to the colours didn't work, but you get the idea hopefully.

Dies TMR #139

Hi Everyone my DT card today is for

https://themaleroomchallengeblog.blogspot.com/

Now this was a challenge for me! I have lots of dies, as have we all? I went through them and saw a bird that I liked and hadn't used, so many haven't been used!  Of course it had to be masculine, and I went through my pads of papers and found this vintage set. Which I felt had a masculine feel, I stamped the bird on part of the paper and layered it. I cut the paper out with a die, then used a digital die to cut the birdcage, adding some leaves after colouring part with a marker and then tying on the the stamped birthday wishes onto the cage. The bird's feet come as a separate die, so I stamped them onto the frame. It's a completely different card to any I have made in the past, with the colours and using so many dies.

Hello

Hi Everyone, I hope you're enjoying the glorious sunshine and warmth. Sorry I've not been bloggin'. No mojo or even wanting to make anything, so I thought I would  share a photo that I had put on FB, for a 10 day "life is good challenge", challenged by one of my nieces. Not even a scrapbook page, just a photo! I saw on Darnell's blog she chose to use the words "melon collie", Yep! I know exactly what she means!

This is of me at 18, just engaged, taken by my now hubby. His old Morris Minor in the background. Don't you LOVE the hair? I loved the dress it had such lovely bright colours, which I still like to wear, colours not the dress, I couldn't fit into it anyway LOL

Fathers Day

Hi Everyone, apart from DT cards I am in the midst of indecision! I have spent all day trying to make a card for hubby on Fathers Day. I think I have looked through everything and discounted them all too. I left it all to do lunch, have a chat with hubby, have a cuppa, make dinner, look at cards on the web and eventually gave up and went with one ready designed and all I had to do is choose the paper! that was not easy either! BUT it's done. Thank you Shirley Young! The only thing I did was make it slightly bigger, because I could!

At last a post on my blog. With the sun shining and so quiet without any wind either. I LOVE these late light nights. Anyhow, here is the card, it's an old design since 2012 and a NBUS! as Darnell would say.

I added some glue and Tonic Pure Sheen glitter, to the gold bits on the paper

A new car!

Hi everyone, I have had nil mojo etc etc. However I was looking at what I could do, I looked through everything, digital, stamps etc and then realised a remarkably generous freebie had been given to newsletter subscribers, with lots of ideas and I saw something I just HAD to do.

It is a vintage car, so I asked hubby what colour vintage car he would like, he suggested maroon, everything from red to pink and even some shades of orange are maroon. LOL. Anyhow I looked through my card stock and there it was maroon! so I teamed it with cream and that was the start of my project, it now proudly stands on a coffee table in my lounge.

TMR - The Sketch

Hi Everyone my DT card today is for
the sketch -

It's been a few days since I added anything here, sorry about that, our son hasn't been well, however, as it's our 54th Anniversary tomorrow, I decided to make hubby a card, we don't usually bother, except for big ones! He tells me he loves me nearly every day so I don't need a card to let me know AW!

I decided to make him one for a change. It will also make him feel guilty LOL. I have been looking through my old digital files and found this kit that I thought suited perfectly, it had hearts and masculine colours. With the sketch, a bit of layering and, a sentiment with help of my Silhouette, a touch of sparkle on the sentiment and heart - card done! Cheers to 54 years. (I was only a baby when we married!) You don't believe me?  Well I never!

Cottages - LOTS!

Hi Everyone, a while ago, I saw a stamp and HAD to buy it straight away. This is the first time I have used it though! I STILL love it and just want to do more and more in lots of different colours and ways, I've never felt like this about a stamp, how silly. I'm not the best colourer, but I did my best with them. I decided to send them as a note card to my 3 brothers and their wives and coloured them to be similar to cottages or houses in their areas of the country.

But first, the one I did for myself, to match the colours of my lounge, which I ended up framing. I told you I loved this stamp. After colouring it, I decided to add a picket fence with a border of flowers, I shortened it to fit, I print and cut it out on my Silhouette. I also framed it with a stone effect embossing folder, then framed it in a frame I found hanging about, as you do!

This was coloured to be in similar colours to the pink Suffolk Cottages, even though they live in the next County, Lincolnshire! SiL likes character cottages.

I hope you have liked my cottages

Scratching

Hi Everyone, my second post for today and it's for the
New challenge at QKR and it's my DT card
We will select two winners each week 1 using QKR Stampede
or Eureka Stamps image and 1 using any image!

We have changed our challenge to the 1st of every month for the Summer,
on a trial basis but, it's still Anything Goes.

Anything Goes every 1st of the month

I saw this donkey and had to use him, he reminds me of me! I have a hearing aid and push it in more if I can't hear! I thought he was doing the same, hang on a minute, shouldn't that be "she was doing the same?" OH! well!

The card came together very quickly without me thinking about it really. I saw the cactus in the image, and took the colours from the "sand" and the cactus. Except I didn't have paper to match, luckily I have some paper templates I can colour in Photoshop, so that's what I did. I then cut the cactus on my Silhouette and coloured them in the same colours.

I have been asked to be a GDT, I was thrilled and said yes,

The Sponsor for the challenge this month is Lily of the Valley and don't we all love their images?
I chose to follow this sketch for the card.

AND I Have to add the latest poem from Gill Reed (my SiL's Sister)

GILL’S CONFUSION

Should I go out, should I stay in?
I’ll think it over with a nice little gin.
The doorstep delivery has been very handy
Some things are missing but they always have brandy.
Should I take part in the new world of sport?
Or stay on the patio with lemon in port?
If I meet with a friend, will I be fine?
Or should I make friends with a bottle of wine?
Should I travel some distance on an instinctive hunch?
Or throw a big party with cocktails and punch?
Should I go to the beach where people are rife?
Or stay home and ponder the Cummings and goings of life?
