I didn't even work on a card. BUT, I also did some reading that filled my time outside in the sun, we are so lucky, I think of people in a flat /apartment with no outside space, my heart goes out to them one and all. Hubby decided to clean the fascias of our bungalow, I was so sorry I couldn't help, my Kindle was too heavy to put down. Bless him.
My card today is one I just tried out as a quick time waster and I'm happy enough with it to share with you.
stamps - magazine freebies - Simply Cards & Papercraft
stamped with Distress inks, the ink spread around a little
sequins - stash
I have a joke for you today, that was sent to me, it's anonymous, so can't give credit I'm sorry, but I thought it too good not to show you.
EDIT
I have had a comment added where the author has read my blog and has asked for her poem to be acknowledged, I am VERY happy to announce that the poem is by Jaybee. Jan Beaumont Auckland, NZ. I have no link apart from this one. However I can thank her for the wonderful poem that I have posted below. Wonderful writing and putting into words so many of us have felt.
Thank you Jaybee
I'm normally a social girlI love to meet my matesBut lately with the virus hereWe can't go out the gates. You see, we are the 'oldies' nowWe need to stay insideIf they haven't seen us for a whileThey'll think we've upped and diedThey'll never know the things we didBefore we got this oldThere wasn't any FacebookSo not everything was told.We may seem, sweet old ladies,Who would never be uncouthBut we grew up in the 60s -If you only knew the truth! There was sex and drugs and rock 'n rollThe pill and miniskirtsWe smoked, we drank, we partiedAnd were quite outrageous flirts. Then we settled down, got marriedAnd turned into someone's mum,Somebody's wife, then nana,Who on earth did we become? We didn't mind the change of paceBecause our lives were fullBut to bury us before we're deadIs like a red rag to a bull!So here you find me stuck insideFor 4 weeks, maybe moreI finally found myself againThen I had to close the door!It didn't really bother meI'd while away the hourI'd bake for all the familyBut I've got no bloody flour! Now Netflix is just wonderfulI like a gutsy thrillerI'm swooning over IdrisOr some random sexy killer. At least I've got a stash of boozeFor when I'm being idleThere's wine and whiskey, even ginIf I'm feeling suicidal! So let's all drink to lockdownTo recovery and healthAnd hope this bloody virusDoesn't decimate our wealth. We'll all get through the crisisAnd be back to join our matesJust hoping I'm not far too wideTo fit through the flaming gates!Anon

Gorgeous card Faith. I love the clean and simple look. I can sympathise with hubby, as I was up a ladder cleaning the conservatory over the weekend. Today I'm crafting though! Love the poem, made me chuckle. Keep well! xx Colette

ReplyDeleteI have seen this poem credited to Pam Ayres....sounds like her when you read it. ..
Pretty CAS card! Funny poem & it is weird to be in the high risk group due to age! Still think I'm younger--until I try to do things--haha! Take care!

Thanks for sharing the poem!
ReplyDeleteI love your card! The CAS design is very well executed and your project presents as light and cheery, just what we need in this moment of time
I will try to get caught up on your past projects. The time between Purim and Pesach is crazy and stays that way until Pesach is over. I always get behind during this time of year.
Stay safe and thanks for the kind comments! I appreciate it!

Oh Faith, never mind the poem - and that was very funny - but what made me burst out laughing was 'I was so sorry I couldn't help but my Kindle was too heavy to put down'! Such a wicked sense of humour you have! I love your beautiful one layer card. I think you must have been inspired by sitting in your garden. Sounds like you had a nice Easter :) Hugs, Vicky x
ReplyDeleteLove, love, LOVE the simple design on that card, Faith, and the poem is far too true! Lol So glad you shared it.
ReplyDeleteLovely card, Faith! I also grew up in the 60s and so I could really relate to that poem! Laughed so hard at some of it! Thanks for sharing that!
ReplyDeleteLovely clean and simple design, Faith! That poem is quite funny! Thanks for sharing. 😆
