Bird-Day

Hi Everyone, a card made for my one of my Nieces, I had made one card with this image here. I decided to try it again, but with different colours this time. The colouring was Okish, then I had a couple of splashes, which I was able to hide with the tiny butterfly and the grass behind the stone, then the sentiment went awry, I was able to redo it, but not as the one layer I hoped for oh! well. Hopefully she won't notice!

Snowdrops

Hi Everyone, I hope you are all keeping well and safe.

Today I have a card I made for our neighbour. I love this stamp and luckily it has dies to match.  Very simple, I seem to be only able to stamp in CAS fashion at present. I used the flower dies, although there was a die for the group of snowdrops too.

I'm not sure about the rules for saying which magazine these free stamps and dies are from.  It's just that sometimes if you love something a lot, you may be able to have a backdated copy? If anyone knows, please let me know. Thank you.
Seems I can let you know what the magazine is :)

I thought I would show you a couple of piccies from the garden atm, the sun was really bright and beautiful when I took them a couple of days ago, no snowdrops sadly, ours have disappeared, MAYBE with the help of hubby whilst digging?

A little fun amongst the worry

Hi Everyone, I hope you are all safe and well and if you are crafting yourselves silly LOL.  I suppose I've got a little bit of panic, there is so much on the news it has, as hubby says, begun to frighten me a little and I'm not one for panic usually,  I hope you can get what you require, but stay safe whilst getting them

and don't forget about that metre!

Anyhow my card today is a little "panic" and another for joy. I was only going to do one, I printed out 2 images in case something went wrong, I was pleased with the result of the first, so decided to carry on with the second to see if it would be OK, surprisingly it was, so I made a second card.

Grandfather's house

Hi Everyone aren't we lucky to have a hobby that keeps us indoors in these confusing and worrying times.

My project today is for

This suited me down to the ground as I have recently copied down a LOT of my Grandfather's writings, with over 200 poems and 3 "books" of his life, it has taken a lot of hours over the last 18 months and I have a lot still to do. I have been doing talks to groups about them and they have been very well received. I have 3 "talks" all with great emotion in them. One of his son as POW on the Burma Railway with the Japanese, the second of him going to work down the coal mines at 10 years old and the 3rd building of his house. He starts on why he moved to the village and the tragedy that made him move.

So I decided to use part of his story as my DT project with this digital Scrapbook page. Digital? so I can send it to other members of the family who don't know the story.

I hope you enjoy the story if you can read it? Don't forget you can enlarge it by holding down the ctrl key and using pushing the mouse wheel forward, do it in reverse to put it back as it was, you may see a popup box asking you to "reset" just click that if you want to reset it as it was.

Pop up elephant?

Hi Everyone, Well what a world we are in at the moment, one of my nieces is a podiatrist and has just rung me so very worried about her business and her livelihood. There are many people in business that are or will be affected by this virus. Such worries for every business - except the toilet roll industry whose products are getting very hard to buy and last Friday were the only shelves empty in our local supermarket. Well! I had to find a little humour? in all the bad news.

Onto why you are here. I was asked by my neighbour if I would make a card for her Great Grandson for his first birthday, however he was being Christened on the same day and she wanted to add a photo to the card and didn't want it religious.

After lots of talks and her coming in to choose the elephant she wanted, out of the quite a "few" I have in my files, she chose this one, which actually turned out the best she could have chosen, as it has an svg cut file to use with my Cameo.

Anyhow, I put it all together in Photoshop, then instead of printing it out as I would normally, I transferred the picture to the Cameo and made shapes to match. I also used print and cut trees, as they were so pretty. On the blue card background I used the foil pen and had Cameo to write the sentiments in silver foil. Cutting the elephant out was quite easy, but I had to add a photo on it too. I had recently seen this tutorial by Verity Biddlecombe and thought I would try it on the elephant. I'm thrilled to say it worked and my neighbour was thrilled with the card.

Floral border

Hi Everyone, sorry to have been awol, but it was my birthday on Monday and from Sunday on it has been a little hectic. Anyone would think it was a special birthday! LOL. I also want to thank you all for the comments on my last card, it's been very well received and I am so grateful to you all.

Anyhow, my SiL has asked me to make a few cards for her, my BiL has dementia and she can't get out when we wants too. I have had some new Distress inks and I'm loving them, why has it taken me so long to join the party I wonder? I decided to look through my digital stamps, as I had done a couple of successful colouring on them. I found this image and decided to try a CAS card, hoping I could do quite a few the same for her and quickly. I printed, coloured them, added the pearls, die cut the layer and added it 3D'd to the card.

Here is the result.

Team Colours

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for
Team colours is the challenge, but I don't follow any teams unless it's Wales in the 6 Nation Rugby Series, and as I had already done red and green for St David's Day I decided to use The Ospreys Rugby Club. I always take in interest in them though. They are not too far away from us.
Mask on Black

Their colours are Black and White so that's what I used and here is my card.
I painted through the stencil and the car with Distress Ink, it could have been a bit darker, but I didn't want to lose details on the car. I cut the car out with a die. I added silver gel pen to the "chrome" parts of the car, hopefully you can see it in the second photo.

Serenading Turtle

Hi Everyone, my card today is from a win I had for image winner at QKR I was thrilled to bits as the elephant is fabulous, anyway one of my choices was this turtle and snail, I just could see the turtle singing Happy birthday so I had to have him and colour them straight away. I even added a pale blue around the image as I've seen others do, not sure if it's successful though. They seemed to stand out better without it. He will go to a Great Nephew this month.

I used watercolour card, printed the digital stamp image, coloured with Ranger Distress Inks.  I cut the image out with a die and also the background paper copying the sketch, but placing the cut piece back into the space.

The sentiment is computer generated with an added music staff behind it. fussy cut 3 layers.
Distress inks - I'm sorry I forgot to record what colours I used :(

A Dragon or Crocodile?

Happy St David's Day
Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus
pronounced
 'Deethe goo-eel Dew-ee happ-iss'

My card today was a freebie image from Beccy and is named as a crocodile, but, I saw a baby dragon, so that's what he is. AND, as it's St David's Day the Patron Saint of Wales, I made him for this day.

There are a lot of links in this today, I hope it will help you know a little more of this beautiful land, I call home. I hope you enjoy the music too.

It's a CAS card, very simple I know, but it's just for me to put up today. I used the colours of the Welsh flag and as our Dragon is Red, that's what all dragons are to me (even if he is supposed to be a crocodile LOL)

When I was a child and for many years after, we had a half school day on St David's Day. The morning was filled with all things Welsh, girls wearing Welsh costumes with a daffodil (our national flower) attached, (that's where my blog name came from) and as boys didn't have a national costume in those days, they wore one of the national emblems which was a leek, the bigger the better LOL. We sang traditional Welsh songs, in Welsh, traditional dances and had Welsh cakes and cawl for lunch. I'm ashamed to say I don't speak Welsh, but can read it and understand a lot. I am very proud of being Welsh though. Could you guess?

I did a blog post here you can see me in costume!

Here is one of the songs I still remember, well, part of it LOL We always sang it in Welsh and it was always fun when we did, it got faster and faster until we couldn't sing it anymore..
copied off  Wikipedia  here it is being sung
Oes gafr eto?
Oes heb ei godro?
Ar y creigiau geirwon
Mae’r hen afr yn crwydro.
Gafr wen, wen, wen.
Ie finwen, finwen, finwen.
Foel gynffonwen, foel gynffonwen,
Ystlys wen a chynffon wen, wen, wen.
Gafr ddu, ddu, ddu.
Ie finddu, finddu, finddu.
Foel gynffonddu, foel gynffonddu,
Ystlys ddu a chynffon ddu, ddu, ddu.
Gafr goch, goch, goch.
Ie fingoch, fingoch, fingoch.
Foel gynffongoch, foel gynffongoch,
Ystlys goch a chynffon goch, goch, goch.
Gafr las, las, las.
Ie finlas, finlas, fin las.
Foel gynffonlas, foel gynffonlas,
Ystlys las a chynffon las, las, las.
And, traditionally, in the last verse
the goat is always pink...
Gafr binc, binc, binc.
Ie fin binc, fin binc, fin binc.
Foel gynffonbinc, foel gynffonbinc,
Ystlys binc a chynffon binc, binc, binc.
Is there another goat?
That's not been milked?
On the craggy rocks
The old goat is wandering.
A white, white, white goat,
Yes white lipped, white lipped, white lipped,
A bald white tail, a bald white tail
A white flank and tail, white, white, white.
A black, black, black goat,
Yes black lipped, black lipped, black lipped,
A bald black tail, a bald black tail.
A black flank and tail, black, black, black.
A red, red, red goat,
Yes red lipped, red lipped, red lipped,
A bald red tail, a bald red tail.
A red flank and tail, red, red, red.
A blue, blue, blue goat,
Yes blue lipped, blue lipped, blue lipped,
A bald blue tail, a bald blue tail.
A blue flank and tail, blue, blue, blue.
A pink, pink, pink goat,
Yes pink lipped, pink lipped, pink lipped,
A bald pink tail, a bald pink tail.
A pink flank and tail, pink, pink, pink.
Here is another of my personal favourites Calon Lan, this time you can here it being sung.

I hope you enjoyed my St David's Day celebration and the music too.
