Blue Robins?

Hi Everyone, my first Christmas card of the year, came about entirely by accident, I was looking for a colour combination for me to stamp on, saw this colour combo at the challenge and thought yep! go with that. The colours were added onto acetate, watercolour card placed on it but, it turned out not as I would have hoped. Well it was my first try! Then thought how about a die to cut the colours out, I chose a die which really is so inappropriate for the colours, but I decided to go ahead and this is what happened! Must have been storm Ciara affecting me LOL.
Robin die - Cut & Make mini die
Distress Inks -
Broken china, Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans
stamps - Magazine Freebies
navy card - stash

Christmas Card Throwdown
You can slip by this, it's picture heavy!

In the middle of the storm I looked out of the conservatory and saw these pigeons looking so forlorn, as if they are saying to the one sitting under the birdhouse roof - "C'mon it's our turn to be out of the storm!" They sat there for at least 20 minutes like that. Sorry about the not too clear piccies, blame the heavy rain and being taken through the window.

I hope you were all safe and sound in the Storm.

Our Daffs held up quite well.

  1. I know that view of Porthcawl so well Faith, thanks for sharing it x.
I think your non traditional Christmas card is wonderful and those little robins are adorable (and maybe so cold with the storm, they have turned blue....LOL x). Always good to try something new Faith and the water colour effect is so pretty and so is your card x.
Sorry about those pigeons and well done to the strong daffodils x.

  3. Your robins are so cute in blue! Maybe they turned blue from the cold. That storm is quite impressive! Stay warm and safe inside!

  4. in card making, we can use any color our hearts desire! Love those blue birds! Love the photos of the birds from your window too - how patiently they sit and wait their turn. They all look well fed, that's for sure! Wasn't aware of the storms you had, but the photos are amazing! Glad all ended on a good note.

  5. As I love non traditional colors, Faith, I love your card!!! Yes!!! The robins are beautiful! And the pigeons, too, but I am sorry that they stayed in rain. Your daffodils are still gorgeous, my friend. As for the storm, I did not see that on greek TV but I learnt it in the blogging world. I am glad you are safe, sweety, and let's hope that this storm will not happen again. Kisses!

  7. Beautiful card, Faith! The joy of being a creator is that we can make anything in any colour! I love your blue Robins! I also love seeing the photos you share. Those pigeons really don't look very happy but the daffodils do! :o)

  8. I love the simplicity of this design Faith, it looks stunning and the blue robins look fabulous. Great photos too, we now have snow now but at least the wind has abated a bit. Keep warm !!

  9. Aw, bless your chilly robins Faith, so cute - and those chilly puff ball pigeons too! Looks like your coastline took a real battering. Isn't it amazing how huge strong looking trees will topple in a storm but fragile little daffs can make it through! Lesson for life right there! Vicky x

  10. Love the colours and simplicity of this card. You can never start Christmas cards too early!

My chickens survived the wind, however we don't tend to get snow here in Norfolk and on Monday it snowed. The chickens sulked by the coop as they did not understand what the evil white stuff sticking to the ground was.

Eventually the two 'Danger Ninjas' Rose and Violet ventured across the garden to have a much need peck at the cauliflower hanging from one of the trees. It was so funny to watch.

    Much love Colette xxx

  13. Hey--first, thanks for participating in the 3 blues color theme challenge for 52 CCT blog!!! Weather-wise my hubby and I just survived a blast of snow, ice, and wind chills around -20* F, but it's to only the past 2 days with temp starting to climb into the 20s and low 30s tomorrow! Surprised to see that you have blooming daffodils--so enjoy them! And your blue robins :) Becca/DT

  14. I love plan B cards! I make a lot of those. Your robins are beautiful, if they do look a bit chilly! I really like your diagonal panel too, it makes a really interesting shape. Thanks for playing along with the 52CCT this week.

  15. Your "plan b" came out beautiful Faith! I love your blue robins, and I love the diagonal piece they are on. A fun, nontraditional card that I am so loving! That is exactly what it looks like the pigeons on the ground are saying to the one in the house! lol Boy that looks like a nasty storm, hope all were safe and no injuries or loss of life with this storm. Your sea photo's are scary looking, thus why I don't live by the beach! lol Hugs, Brenda
