Now for my Welsh cakes, you saw the state of the bakestone here -
here it is in the middle of baking. I seasoned it twice and spread butter to grease it to cook, no stick yippee! I should have rolled them a little thinner than I did. Should have known better!
here they are in the middle of cooking, I haven't got the temperature quite right, so they were cooked on the outside and not in the middle, that's when they get moved to the cooler outside to continue cooking without burning.
The end result, with some sugar added while hot off the bakestone, a little burned, BUT I know what to do next time with the temperature, I think I may have been a little excited to do them LOL. They were accepted and eaten quite quickly and were yummy. After nearly 27 years of not making them, I am very pleased. I also have orders, off hubby and son, to make them again SOON!
Oh, what a marvelously perfect masculine card for an 11 year old! Delightful paper choices. I've never had Welsh cakes but they look so inviting. Maybe you'll invite me over when you make the next batch. I'll get my passport ready. :-D
