Blue Tulips!

Hi Everyone,
WHOOOOPPPPEEEEEEEEEE
Congratulations to my fellow Welshman
 Geraint Thomas
on winning the Tour de France.

I have been trying to catch up on challenges I usually enjoy and this is for one of them. The Outlawz Progressive challenge. The sponsor is Andrea Norris at Sheepski Designs who gave this wonderful image of Tulips for us to use. I was wondering what to do, as I wanted to make it in the shortest time possible, - it didn't happen!

I added everything to the front of the card, went to open it and found I had added it upside down! I really didn't want to do it all again, so cut the back off the ready made card, I got another, but folding the front in half, thankfully an easel was made to rescue everything. Whew! But that meant doing more for the insert, oh! well the best laid plans and all that, in the end I'm quite pleased with it. AND I made my first ribbon folded roses/flowers!

don't you just think the "folds" in the background paper look real?

ribbon - Dovecraft

  9. Sometimes our 'mistakes' lead to the most beautiful cards, Faith, and this is certainly one of them! I love how the tulips are 'colored' and your color combo is magnificent. So glad you got this one done. :-D

  12. A stunning card, Faith! Gorgeous tulips. What a great idea to turn it into an easel card! I did the same thing with a leaving card for work. I wasn't half so inventive, but it didn't go in the bin. Lovely to see Geraint winning, and what a humble chap. Can't wait to see his reaction when he returns home
