I didn't have a clue apart from using a drinks can again, but I saw this card by Karen and an idea hit me. Whether it is successful is up to you!
I cut pages from hubby's tools magazine, he loves it and has to have the new one every time it comes out. As it's quite new I had to select pages he wouldn't look at again. Well it is for a male card after all LOL.
I then cut them into strips and weaved them together. they were so light I put a strip of double sided tape in an L shape on my glass mat to hold them in place while weaving. I glued them to card to give substance then die cut them and embossed it.
I'm not a CAS style Gal, so went looking for background paper to add the card , then realised the car was too fussy to add a busy background, I wondered what do you stampers and painters do? You add paint splatters, so that's what I did - but digitally! Maybe even this is too much? I added an edge to the printed piece with Spectrum Noir Markers.

paints platters - Blue Flower Art at Digichick
I had some left over pieces from this card, so used them to frame the car.
As I had some drinks can cut left from another card I die cut the sentiment. I think I can truly say this is a recycled card.
Faith, that is very creative - LOVE IT!!!

ReplyDeleteWow, what patience it must have taken to weave these strips of paper! This is a fabulous masculine card Faith! I love how you made the paint splats, they look so real and I would have thought you did them with ink and not the computer! Love that car and love that you used the soda can for the sentiment. Yes, a recycled card for sure! Love, love, love! Hugs, Brenda
