I have had 10 family cards to do, mostly men! This is one of them, he works abroad for a car manufacturer, so didn't want it high for postage costs. I was wanting to enter the Scrapbook.com card challenge so used the sketch to make the card, you may know by now, that I go searching my files for something and maybe it will change my thought process and this was one of them.
I found a digital kit with this fab car in it, (isn't it a lovely colour and shape?). One of the papers was a grill, which sent me thinking of my dies, so cut one and placed it on top of one of the papers and then used the other papers to make the shape of the sketch.
I layered the papers onto the same navy card I had cut the die from. it made it easier to keep the papers straight LOL. 3D'd the card and added pearl drops to the die cut.

I think this is fantastic, Faith! How creative and clever. Love the blue combo and your talent at turning papers and dies into a design so perfect for a masculine card.

Oh my gosh I LOVE that car! Smiles.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great card, and I think it the image is perfect for a CAS style card too.xx
It's awesome. It has that wonderful car to tickle the masculine fancy, but I like the way you've added some richness with the pearls (I'm thinking of those old cars from back in the 20's that I see on tv). The papers look so sleek & metallic too, keeping with your car theme. That is one pretty die! Your guy will really love this...your searching paid off in a great card. TFS & Hope your Easter was pleasant. Hugs
ReplyDeleteJust saw your question about the yellow pollen (and hope you get my earlier comment!) The pollen comes from all the things that are blooming just now, and we'll have it for a while. It's all over everything outside, looks like yellow dust, and gets tracked inside on the floors too. (Ugh). If the doors are open, then the kitchen counters feel gritty because it coats them as well, so when you wipe off, the yellow is on whatever you used to wipe it off. It's just something we deal with to enjoy all the lovely blooming trees. Hugs
ReplyDeletePerfect male card and love the die cut on the side border! Thanks so much for joining us this time at the Suzy Bee's Bloomin Challenge, Elizabeth (DT)
