Sad news.

This is from Deedee's blog today.

Shop Closing December 31

My dear crafty friends,

This last year has been a very challenging one for my family, and it has become increasingly difficult for me to keep up with running a business around the twists and turns of life. Although I'm sad to do it, I have decided to close Deedee's Digis so that I can better focus my attention where it needs to be -- on my family.

So that we can honor our sponsorship commitments, the shop will remain open through December 31, and we will continue to share inspiration here until then. If there are digi sets that you've been wanting, please do order them before December 31. Also, if you have prize codes that you've been holding on to, please be sure to use them ASAP, as I will not be able to honor them after December 31. All of our digi sets are, and will remain, on 75% discount through the closing, so you should be able to get a lot for even a little.

Normally we would have a new Digi of the Month challenge to share with you today, but because we are closing, we have decided not to have one this month. Those who played in last month's challenge, however, should have received a special set, as promised, in your email.

I thank you all for the last six, wonderful years of being able to share digis with you. Although I won't be running the shop anymore, I do hope to continue crafting. You can find my long-neglected personal blog at http://stampingsunshine.blogspot.com/, where I hope to soon be able to share my personal craft projects again, if you are interested in keeping up. Who knows...as much as I love to draw, I might just have a little treat to share there with you now and again, too. ;-)

I wish you and yours a very happy holiday season, and everything good in the new year!

Hugs!

Art by Miran Guest spot

Hi Everyone, I am so thrilled and proud to say I have been chosen as
Guest Designer at Art by Miran

Here is my card for the challenge, I loved this image "Snowman Kissed" which I won for being chosen as a GD.  I don't know why, but the colours grey and pink came into my mind for this beautiful pair.

I laid it all out in Photoshop, printed my papers and cut them into shape. I cut the sentiment out with a Tonic oval die and coloured my image with Spectrum Noir markers, I am still getting used to colouring by hand, and hope I have given Mi Ran's image justice. I cut the image out with a Tonic circle die and added snow effect to the little circles around the image.

Christmas Cross

Hi Everyone, here is a DT card for Deedee's Digis who is sponsoring a challenge at Crafting by Designs with the theme "Getting Ready For Christmas."

I have had this particular kit "Seasonal Crosses" from Deedee a little while but I haven't used it and I don't know why, it really is lovely and for all year around. I used the sentiment from the Wise Men kit.

The image makes a quick card if you want and I made it quick with a simple embossing background, a navy card layer, some glitter glue and a pearl drop, quick and easy, although I'm happy it's quite effective.

Polar Pals

Hi Everyone, I have a DT post for Deedee's Digis today, this is for the SSW2 Sketch Challenge that Deedee is sponsoring. However before we go to my card and the info, Deedee has a wonderful sale on, now is your chance to grab plenty of images, she is being VERY generous in her offer.

Now onto my card, this was a great sketch to work with and I had great papers and images to work with from Deedee. I laid it out and coloured the bear and seal in PS, (I used the outline images in the kit) then saved it all as a png file and had my Cameo to print and cut the images. I then 3D'd the bear and seal. I am LOVING that feature. I think the most difficult thing I had to do on this card was get the 4 squares straight when glueing them down. LOL

Comments!

Hi Everyone, after MANY MANY hours of changing so many settings on my blog I have now reverted to plain ole Blogger, This will mean that you will now be able to comment without joining any other site or blog.  Shame is I have lost ALL comments for the last 10 days. I can put up with that as long as you can all comment now.

Thank you for your patience. It's taken me a long while but I am there.

In case any of you have had the same trouble I am posting a "help" answer from the Google Help forum. I haven't included my replies as I thought this is the information most of you would want if you were in this position.

Hi +Daffodil Cards you need to sign in to Blogger, click your blog name, open the Google+ settings on the left menu, then de-select the option to "Use Google+ comments on this blog". If that doesn't work, the best place to get assistance is the official Blogger help forum: productforums.google.com/forum/#!forum/blogger

+Daffodil Cards you need to have a Google+ Profile connected to Blogger to be able to change that setting. So be sure you are using Google+ with your Blogger account. Once you have disabled Google+ comments, you can then delete your Google+ Profile.

Swinging Snowman

Hi Everyone a quick post of a quickly done card that I made for the Outlawz sketch challenge. I am always struggling to get this done, time goes so very quickly when your having fun doesn't it?

Anyhow, my card was mad with a ready coloured image from Dearie Dolls, I love her work, I don't use them enough. I made the bottom shape in my Cameo and shortened a part of a file from Shirley's Cards, even the photo was taken in a hurry at night, at least it shows the OTT sparkle.

Cardinal birds

Hi Everyone, I was lucky enough to have the digi of the Cardinal birds from Javacardlineart, it's a bird that doesn't come to the UK, so I'm afraid I didn't really have any real knowledge of its colours, I knew it was red and that's all. I looked it up on the web and copied the colours and this is my offering, I also saw that it eats berries and I had just the right paper from Paper Garden Projects.

I coloured the birds in PS and placed elements from PGP's Holiday Home Digital kit behind them, I added DP from the kit and the leaves and berries and circled them in the wreath also from the kit, then finished the sketch layout with DP's and more elements from the kit. I print and cut on the Cameo and layered it all on silver mirror card. I added Tonic Glitter on the berries and mirror gems. I made 3 of them at the same time, I'll send these to cousins in Ohio and Florida, who will know the birds.

Christmas card

Hi everyone, I am so glad to be back creating for Paper Garden Projects, Cathy has been out of designing for a little while and is now back with the most beautiful papers and elements for Christmas, I couldn't wait to get my hands on them, although they aren't just for Christmas! If you go to the link you can even get a wonderful freebie she has there.

Here is my card I laid it out in PS and print and cut on my Cameo, there is a choice in the kit of a border around the elements or not, depending on what you want it for. I used the flowers with the border, to use with the Cameo. I added gems to the berries and the flowers, even the sentiment is included. I am so excited about these papers and elements, they really are beautiful.

Model and butterflies

Hi Everyone, a card, to share with you, for my Great Niece, she is 19, when I saw this image by Javalineart I just knew it could be used for her.

I laid everything out and coloured it in PS following the sketch. I also embossed the leaf shape and the diagonal paper across the centre. After printing it all out and layering, I added glitter glue and butterfly dies and a few gems. Then embossed the greeting on the side and went over it with blue metal gilding wax, I have had it for years and didn't know what to do with it until recently! LOL.

I also cut the edge of the blue layer with decorative scissors, something that has been lurking in the back of a cupboard for a long long while.

I chose the colours when I read that topaz and yellow was the November stone colours.

Santa and his cup!

Hi Everyone, a second post today as I have a card from a new (to me) designer HN. I was introduced to him by Hetty who wrote on her blog.

In Monika Reeck's Etsy shop you find some wonderful
coffee images for only a few dollars. The images are drawn
by her Indonisian friend HN and he can do so much more
with these dollars in his country. Please take a look and see if you can
support him by buying a digital stamp.
Have you never used digital stamps?
Well HERE you find some more explanation what to
do with these digital images.

Anyhow here is one of the digis it is "Santa with a cup of coffee". I love this "modern" Santa, he could be anyone's Dad - oops! sorry Santa, I only meant he was dressed up as you!

I laid it all out and coloured it in PS following the sketch. I changed the colour of the quote to match the papers. I used my Cameo to print & cut the centre pieces, then 3D'd them. Some sparkle voila!

Telephone girl

HI Everyone. here is a card that I have made for 2 challenges. I coloured the image with Spectrum Noir, then cut it down to go into the centre of the telephone image. She could be a wallpaper for the phone I thought. I followed the sketch and laid it all out in PS, I printed the phone and other papers and added black paper as a background layer, added 3D gloss to the phone button and 3 pearl drops and a sentiment.

My colouring still has much to be desired, but maybe it's the paper I am using. I can't use anything heavier than 220 grm weight as my printer won't take it, so if anyone has any ideas it would be appreciated.

Penguin Skier

Hi Everyone, I think I am back to normal! with my pain and my blog, except I can't get notification of my comments in my emails, hopefully that will be sorted soon, but I have a few cards I need to blog first. Here is a card I did for the Outlawz sketch challenge.

I used images I have had for an awfully long time and are no longer available, they are such fun, I decided to revisit them for this Christmas card. I laid it out in PS following the sketch, saved a copy of the main images and saved as a png file to send to my Cameo, I'm finding I am doing that a lot. Then printed the background and added the diamond shape and the images as 3D. I added glitter glue, shame it doesn't show up in the photo. I made up the sign lettering, I suspect you realised that LOL.

Jumper Christmas

Hi Everyone, a DT card for Deedee's Digis who is sponsoring a challenge at Cupcake Inspiration Challenge the colours are so delicate I was wondering what I could do and then decided to do a Christmas card, to add to my low stock.
The Inspiration colours are unusual for a Christmas card but what the heck. I am pleased with the result as Deedee's Ugly Jumpers are great to make an unusual card, especially as included in the kit is a plain jumper so you could add what you want to the front of the jumper, (a name?).
I laid it out and used the overlay style in PS, for the sentiment on the coral layer and the star on the yellow layer, I used the third colour to surround the jumper image. I coloured the image on the jumper in the same colours and added a die branch and glitter dust over them and the stars and 3D gloss over the duck image.  Although it looks simple, I used quite a few kits of Deedee's to make it.

Photos added for the last few posts

Hi Everyone I have added photos again to some recent posts, but still can't get the rest to appear. I am so upset, I have 5 years of photos gone! UNLESS I redo EVERY post. It would take me a long long time. Seems Friday the 13th hit me this time, it doesn't usually!

I will redo my scheduled posts, by adding the photos and will try and add a photo to previous posts occasionally. It seems to be working when I add the photos I had there before.

I hope you will hang in there with me! Thanks for all your support

I haven't had a good week, on Wednesday 10pm,  I was taken into A&E with excruciating pain in my groin, painkillers and gas and air going to the hospital in the ambulance relieved it a bit, but I couldn't move my leg. To cut a long story short I left the hospital at 5pm on Thursday only because Occupational Therapists helped me to walk hesitantly - with a zimmer, which I had to bring home to help me walk.

The Consultant didn't know what the reason for my pain, initially it was thought a hip dislocation, but after an X ray, my hip shows slight arthritis only. I have to have an MRI to check out the reason, as the Dr said, "nothing hides with an MRI", hubby thought I should have stayed in, (which they wanted) as it would have been done the next day, however I wanted to get home and I knew there was an acute bed shortage and there would be more people in need of it. Anyhow, I am on a pain relief regime and able to walk, however I still can't raise my leg.

Bodies are strange engines aren't they, great when their running and look out if there is a screw loose! and as you know I have a screw loose LOL.

It was so funny being treated as an OLD lady! The OT girls asked if I has aids at home!!!! toilet raiser, bars in the shower, bars at the door, I have not and don't want them! At least they were happy that I lived in a bungalow and I had someone living with me for support. I really didn't think old age would come before my 70th birthday. AND a zimmer!!!!!!!!!!!!!! at least I don't need it now, the pain regime has allowed me to walk.

Flower circle # 2

Hi Everyone, I used this image HERE and even was showcased at The Outlawz  sketch challenge for it. However I really liked the image so decided to hand colour, yes I know shock horror -  me hand colour!!!  I decided to post it again as it looked so different, isn't it funny how different colours change images so much.

I used similar colours in Spectrum Noirs to the digi image. I even coloured the background of the image. I used a simple sketch as I wanted it to stand out. I cut the circle out with my Tonic circle die and added the sentiment layered onto pink card and a purple ribbon.

The beautiful floral is from Create with TLC.

Will keep you informed!

Hi Everyone, it seems that my changing to Google+ on my blog has deleted anything that has no http link! at least that's what I understand to be the problem.

I shall continue to play for a LITTLE while and if if can't find a solution I will have to abandon my blog and see what where else I can go to. Aaaaaarrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhh!

Am I angry? You bet!

Teen birthday

Hi Everyone, here is another card for the young boys we have around us, (even though live a couple of hours from us) their birthdays seem to all be at the end of the year, I have more to come LOL.

Anyhow onto the card. Quite simple, well a teen boy, doesn't want too much, most of the time LOL.

I searched through my files for ideas on what to use and the first suitable thing I came across was this fabulous image by Kenny K. I then went to my saved sketches and came across this Mojo sketch which I thought would make a nice change of shape to use, I also turned it on it's head. Now onto papers! I used a few designers for this. I also decided to look for an Alpha instead of using a font and came across this 7 to which I added teen. I am really pleased with it, hope he is! you know what teens are like LOL.

Grateful

Hi Everyone, Deedee's Digis is sponsoring a challenge at Tuesday Throwdown with the theme being "Thank You".

My DT card is CAS style, I printed Deedee's paper out and embossed it with my Thank You embossing folder, then added the beautiful pumpkin candle and used one of her sentiments.
I saw the card by Paula Pascual on the Sissix blog and loved the simplicity of the design. I haven't added anything else, I didn't think it needed it.

Snow cat?

Hi Everyone, I really enjoyed putting this together, AND it's hand coloured with my Spectrum Noirs, I print and cut the image on the Cameo, then coloured it, loved doing that :)

I have used the background a few times, it just so handy and goes with lots of images, the trees are PS Christmas Tree Brushes. adding a bit of silver Stickles and 3D gloss for his specs.

Christmas Snowman

Hi Everyone my DT post for Deedee's Digis is for the Send a Smile 4 Kids which Deedee is sponsoring, the theme is Happy Holiday for kids.

I decided to do a shaped card again as I quite like the fact I don't have to cut it out, my Print and Cut feature on the Cameo does that, whew! I had seen quite a lot of snow globe cards over the years so decided to make one up in Photoshop, using the ready coloured image in the kit, and transfer it to the Cameo - job done, Oh! if only it was that easy LOL. Oh! no, took me a few times, before I got it right, oh! well!

Anyhow here it is, late finishing and bad light meant this had to be taken indoors.

Different!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Everyone, today I have something so different for me. This image is on the Freebie Progressive challenge at Outlawz and not an image I would normally choose, but hey! it's a challenge isn't it and I was up for it?

When I started colouring it (in PS) he reminded me of a Pirate in the film "Pirates of the Caribbean", so that is the theme I went with.

Then started looking at him more and saw that he is a very sorry and sad soul, could be something to do how people look at him with the markings on his face? There are a lot of people going around with tattoos on their faces these days and have that same sad look on their faces. Just my thoughts again! However as the sentiment says, "fearlessly be yourself" isn't it something some of us are afraid to be, I know a couple of people who are going through life not comfortable being who they are.  Gosh this image has brought the philosophical side of me, how strange!

Anyhow let's get back to the card, as I said I went with the Pirate theme and when doing a search through my files I came across this sentiment and thought it suited him so well. Then thought he could be on a poster so went with a wall background. I printed and fussy cut all the images, added gold Stickles and 3D gloss to his feather ornaments in his hair, I 3D'd the images.

This image set my mind working in all angles. For that I have to thank SLS lines digi stamps for setting me thinking how people actually feel instead of how they look.

Sherlock

Hi Everyone, a birthday card today for a Great Nephew, I have a few of them coming up! this is the second, but as I wanted to enter the Outlawz challenge, it was done first. All laid out in PS and printed, shape and sentiment print and cut on my Cameo, sentiment is my own, it seemed natural!!! I had to add 3D gloss to the magnifying glass didn't I?

I thought I would show you our garden from the top instead of from the bungalow as I usually do. The photos were taken last week while hubby was mowing the lawn, he thought it might be the last cut before the Winter Hahaha he had to do it again yesterday, that's because of all this mild weather, (it was 21C yesterday) we are having, I hope it will seem that the Winter is shorter.
