Faux painting in Photoshop

Hi Everyone and my lovely new follower, thank you for joining me.

This post is very picture heavy, you have been warned, but I hope you will understand what I have done.

I have been asked to make a tutorial of painting in Photoshop, I use CS6. In a way I don't paint in Photoshop and this will explain what I do. I am not saying it's correct or you will have a work of art at the end of it, but, I hope it will make it easier and less frightening. This suits me with my digis, I do include other tools and paint sometimes, but this is to get you started.

Here goes. I would love to have any comments that helps or I can change, you can also see this tutorial HERE.

PLEASE do not copy or post any of this to any other web page or blog. I have spent many hours putting this together. Send people here instead - Thank you.

  2. Faith, thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to do this! I have always wanted to know how you get such even coloring and highlights but Photoshop overwhelms me unless I have a step by step tutorial. I can try the different tools to see what they do, but it seems each tool has another dozen settings, and infinite combos of those settings, so it makes me afraid to change something in case I never figure out how to get it back to its default settings! I can't wait to try this!!! Thanks again :-)

  9. Hi Faith oh I wish I had your photoshop talent it scares the pants off me I have tried and tried to use it but no joy. Plus my PC doesn't have the space for it with all my digital bits and pieces (even with an EHD) so it slows me right down.
you make it look so easy such a clear and helpful tutorial you should do more.
Hope you have a great weekend
