Wedding Card

Hi Everyone, Deedee is sponsoring a challenge at Fan-tastic Tuesday and I have made a card using Two Hearts by Deedee's Digis, such delicate papers and beautiful heart images. I decided to use the flowered heart to match the papers I used.

I laid it all out in Photoshop, you could use Windows too I suppose.

I sized the paper I wanted to use, then I added two DP's, the one with rings as a background sheet and the flower one as the main DP. I added the flower heart and copied the flowers off it and included it on the layout. Also placed 2 shapes one larger than the other. I printed the green layer too, to match the green in the image. A bit of Stickles and Perle Pen to add the "pearls". I used 2 sheets of paper for this. Hearts, sentiment shape and digi ribbon fussy cut.

After this card, mojo was still going strong, I used the plain heart image as a digi stamp. In PS I clipped the paper to the hearts to match the background DP, then added the second DP and flowers which went through and around the hearts. Two completely different cards.

Quiet moments

Hi Everyone, a nice restful card today, I made it for my Niece's husband as he is working in China and I thought he should enjoy the peaceful moments before my Niece and their daughter join him LOL. That's why I chose this sentiment, I am wicked!

Deedee's digis is sponsoring the challenge over at Suzy Bee's Bloomin' Challenge  "Add a Sentiment" The image is from the Deedee's Digi kit Lazy Days. For this card instead of using Deedee's ready coloured image I decided to colour it myself in PS (of course.) I'm not clever like you ladies who use such things as pencils or pens LOL. I paper pieced the hammock with the DP included in the kit, which I also used below the image. I used my new Tonic rectangle dies to cut the image and the blue card behind the image. Inspiration for the sketch is, with many thanks, from Cotnob Oh! yes the garden twine represents the hammock rope - I know I'm a bit of an eccentric!

I made the image bigger for the insert and added a verse found on a verse blog, but can't remember where - sorry.

13th birthday card

Hi Everyone, I have a 13th birthday card for you today, I made it for my Great Niece. I got this image a long time ago from Colouring Pages, it's a fab image by Precious Moments.  I decided to go all out with colour, wouldn't you say? LOL.

I laid it all out and coloured it in PS , then printed it out and fussy cut around the image, bunting and butterfly, then cut the 13 and it's background with my Cricut. The digi paper and elements are by Dream4EverDesigns at PixelScrapper

sponsored by  Limited Runs

Today for my card I am using Fence - Butterfly by Limited Runs by our Sponsor this week.

It seems like I am doing lots of different things recently and using "stuff" I haven't used before, today I am using 2 cut files by Krewella Kreations. the first is the gate and the second is the flower included in a card file, both cut on my Cricut. Coloured in PS. I added a freebie tree PS "brush" to write the sentiment on.

I haven't a clue how this came about, but it just did!  Sorry about the photos, with the breeze and the light they just happened, like the card I suppose LOL.

Belated birthday card.

Hi Everyone, I missed a birthday last week so had to make a belated one, I have had this image,  Nell on a Bike, from Beccy for quite a while, I can't remember using it before, but it seemed somehow right for this, me thinking she looks like me LOL. I used the ready coloured image as it matched some digi paper I had downloaded a few days earlier - meant to be or what - I used a sketch to get me going and added "I'm Late" as I thought it better than Belated to suit this image, don't you love her?

Pearl Anniversary card & box

Hi Everyone, my elder brother and his wife have just celebrated their Pearl (30th) Wedding Anniversary.

I wanted to make something completely different to what I usually make, to do this I started by looking through my files and saw a digi rosette and realised I had cut files, never used. That's a start, look for paper and saw this - a card made LOL.

I used Pink Petticoat Elegance digi paper, the rosette is a file by Lettering Delights, the silver is embossed with a Tattered Lace border die, the pearls are from The Range, the sentiment was done in PS. I couldn't think of how else to place it, without retracting from the rosette, but think it looks OK. I cut a heart with 30 in the middle, placed a pearl for the inside. Sometime in the past I saw some cards where the "empty space" had been filled with embossed lines so did it on this one. some pearls on top of them voila!

For the box I placed the PP paper and added the pearls to the flowers as for the card, I made a tag in PS with a flower which to me matched the paper.

Ugly Sweaters?

Hi Everyone, my work today is entitled Ugly Sweaters, but, not by me but Deedee at Deedee's Digis. She is sponsoring the Challenge at "Sparkles Christmas Challenge" which is "Use mostly green and must be a Christmas card"

So my choice to make a card was from the Ugly Sweaters kit, I decided to colour the sweaters from the "Outline" images in the kit. The trouble was I couldn't make up my mind which image to use or even the design of the cards, mojo overdrive???? so decided to do 3. I think you could say they are different, from the size of the digis to the design, just goes to show how versatile digi's are. I used all the sentiments in the kit too. I also decided to add a "knit" effect too in PS.

first card used Tattered Lace embossing border folder, image is fussy cut and laid on top of embossed layer.
second card used Cuttlebug D'vine Swirl embossing folder, image 3D layered with green ribbon and paper cut and matched to background colour, background DP Shabby Princess
third card used Crafts-Too Christmas trees embossing folder with centre cut out, images 3D layered and added confetti.
I used a knit background from Elines Babies at Cuddly Buddly, I altered it to black and white and then used it as an overlay in PS to make the knitted effect.

It's time for a new challenge at

 Digitally Sweet Challenges

the Theme is

Anything Goes but NOT a card or layout.

sponsored by  Bugaboo Digi Stamps

You know I like to do digital first for DSC, after all it is a Digital Challenge blog. However I wanted to do a door hanger for my son and didn't have a digi layout to be able to post it.

Let me tell you the story of the hanger first - our adult son, as most of you will know, now lives with us after becoming ill. We of course knock before entering his room, one day he said "if you have a cuppa Mum, you don't need to knock!" So that's why I made this as a bit of fun, with the perfect image of the teabag from Bugaboo. Son did have a laugh at this and displays it on his door!

The perfect image for this was of course Bugaboo's "Spoon". The paper is digital and I had the pattern tutorial from here.
I placed both DP on half vertically of the A4 size layout and added the image and sentiment "block! underneath one of the papers. Only 1 page printed, no waste paper! I printed it out border-less on 170gr paper and added it to brown 250gr card, this made it quite substantial (for the use of it bashing up against the door frame each time the door is opened LOL.) I added a brown circle around the circle shape. The pocket is for mail, OK! so I have to fold the letters LOL.

The DP is from a combo kit "Flyawaywithme" at Sweet Shoppe Designs

Easter card

Hi everyone, Deedee's Digis are sponsoring a challenge at Crafty Gals Corner  the theme is "EASTER". I'm here today with my Easter card, that was simple-ish to make, but I unashamedly LOVE it. I used Deedee's kit "Our Risen Lord".

For the main image I used a line drawing included in the beautiful kit, which also had the sentiment I used. I coloured the drawing in PS, I duplicated the image and added shadows to both layers, also added shadows and highlights to the clouds. Now I suppose you are wondering how I did the watercolour background. I  suppose I cheated just a little, well I am a digi girl aren't I? OK mostly hybrid! The background is a freebie kit of watercolour DP's from Digilicious. It had the right shape of spread to go over the crosses and I thought it the perfect choice. (Being a bit! modest today?)

Something a bit different for me

Hi Everyone, my "something different" is using my new Tonic circle dies and using layers with them, do you remember this? it was "all the rage" a while ago, me? I'm always way after the fashion, so here she is, my layered circles Octopus Mom and Baby by Stamping Boutique. I try and enter the Facebook challenge and this month it has to be Green. I have had this image a long while, and decided it was about time I used it. The DP paper is by ScrapitDesigns, with a second sheet given an overlay of shells by Gina Jane, I embossed the top layer with another new toy, Bubbles folder by Scruffy Little Cat. The shells were fussy cut, both also by Gina Jane. Hair and baby glittered and a scalloped circle cut with my Cricut. The cut border is by Birds Cards. Here she is at last -

Layouts ONLY - "Make me Smile"

sponsored by   Scrappiness Designs

Using the wonderful "Make Me Smile" digi kit by Scrappiness Designs, my layout to make You smile, is hubby in his rightful place in the kitchen! Bless him, he's making me a mid morning cuppa, it's when we sit down after doing little chores, - when you are retired they are all "little chores", plenty of time to get them done, so done little by little LOL. This photo was taken a week after he had had "his facelift" as he calls it, his eye muscles were pulled tighter and attached to his eye socket, to stop the tears he was troubled with each time he went outside and especially in a breeze. Explained that in case you thought he looked tired (of waiting on me) LOL.

I followed a Scrapbook sketch layout by Megan Turnidge, just realised I didn't add "the title" duh!

New Pastures

Hi Everyone, did you think I was off to new pastures with my heading today? Nope, it's the name of the digi kit from Deedee's that I used for my leaping, jumping sheep.  Deedee is sponsoring a challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More there is an Inspiration photo - on the right.
Hence this card. I love this little sheep and the fence, both supplied with beautiful sentiments, but me being me, decided to add my own. I designed it in PS. I added the sheep and copied it 3 times and deleted part of it twice, to enable me to layer the image, I printed it out and fussy cut it. The fence is also fussy cut. I added a little shine to her nose and eyes with Anita's 3D clear gloss.

On Track

Hi Everyone, This super little train is the Digi of the Month at Deedee's Digis

"If you are new to our "Digi of the Month" challenges, it's not too late to join in the fun! This is a monthly progressive freebie challenge. You can purchase this month's featured set for just $1.25 in our shop, or get it for FREE with any $10 purchase of Deedee's Digis products."

I just had to play with it. So many ways to use it too, with the different carriages included in the kit. I went on line to see if there were any sentiments to suit a train and found this sentiment, which I though suited Deedee's image so perfectly. I could have used one of the beautiful sentiments Deedee has in this kit, but just wanted to different. I cased this card by Cotnob as it also seemed to suit what I wanted.

Top Hat

Deedee's digis is sponsoring the challenge at Suzy Bee's Bloomin' Challenge Shaped Cards, so I went to see what Deedee had that I could use and saw this top hat in the "Distinguished Gentleman" kit, I used 2 outline images in the kit. reversed one of them then joined them, clipped an ombre DP to the shape in PS, added another to the band then printed it and fussy cut it. I cut into the shape slightly by the head band so the ribbon could sit in it. It works as a rocker card :)

It just shows that you don't have to use a male centred kit as a male card LOL.

Sailing by!

Hi Everyone, a VERY cold, very windy, sunny day here today. Perfect washing day, I love seeing clothes drying and blown about in the wind, am I sad or no? LOL.

My card today is for another Great nephew, he loves sailing so that's my theme for him this year. Search brought up these papers in my files, so glad it did, isn't the yellow a different colour to usual for sailing cards, however it's from a Pirate kit, so perhaps not so unusual!

Happy St David's Day

Hi Everyone, a little late in the day to be wishing you a Happy St David's Day, but I was caught up in another book, only a little sob this time LOL.

Here's a card I did yesterday from a new cutting file by Paper Garden Products.  I matched the shape to a DP from her Hearts & Flowers kit I used a lilac card to add the printed and cut paper, although I like it, I think maybe a darker colour could have shown the pretty design up better. I added a pale Sharpie to the heart shape around the card and added stitching with a darker Sharpie. This came together very quickly, even the sentiment shape is included and a choice of sentiments. I added 3 of my new Tattered Lace flowers and of course some bling.
