Hi Everyone, I had downloaded some beautiful images and wanted to make a card, they are in the Spring challenge of TLC Creates Vintage over on Facebook. Anyhow, I designed a card in Photoshop from them, the challenge is to only use the set of images. I took them into Silhouette and printed them out, then sent them to cut.
I was really disappointed with the result, if it hadn't been for the sizing being wrong for a 6 x 6 card I would have used them, thinking that's how they should be. Thankfully, they were too big. Silly me. So off I go, get the paper, and find that I had used the wrong one on the first printing. I printed them again after adjusting the size, and was quite astounded at the difference it had made, both printed at Standard not High. All printed and cut as separate items, then put together and added to a pink card layer. The sunflower was added with 3D pads.
Here is the difference, I have not edited the colour on either, the "faded" one is misshapen and not attached, due to being brought out of the bin.
Well Faith this turned out so well, a beautiful card, love the paper and that pretty flower, just love it. xx

ReplyDeleteWhat a difference the right paper can make. It is definitely a beautiful card and the colours are so nice on the left side.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous in the end, and wow what a difference in the printing, xoxo
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card. I think learning the difference of papers and cardstocks for printing, inking, colouring etc is one of the hardest things when starting out, when one white paper or card looks pretty much the same as the next but boy do they react differently. Your faded version would have made a great insert with a white die cut on top to write the greeting on
ReplyDeleteSo different and it is a beautiful vibrant card.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful card, Faith! Love the color palette!
