Technology - wired?

Hi Everyone, I suspect you are questioning or even thinking what ever she is on about in that heading LOL, well! my card today is for the
Would you like to be part of the SPECtacular Male Room Design Team?  Well we're looking to add a few new team mates at the moment. If you'd like to be considered simply create a project - card, scrapbook page, tag, art journal page, ATC, canvas or 3D -  for this new challenge and add DT after your name when you link up.
My card today is certainly technology, it's about computers and is for my God-daughters husband, whose job is associated with them, hope he likes it. Just a couple of days before I was making this card I had these papers from Pixelscrapper, which were just perfect for the theme of the challenge, I know it's a bit busy, but I really wanted to use them with the elements.

To make it more "techie" I used wire which I couldn't get straight - aarrggh! I joined it to the "chips"by glue gun then added NuvoCrystal Drops to make it look like they were soldered on. I layered the papers onto silver mirror card. The sentiments were also in the same digital pack.
The insert verse was from the web and all front and insert were designed in Photoshop, so technology used to create it too LOL.

October time

Hi Everyone, a card today for the Outlawz sketch challenge, that actually took me nearly 3 days to make, because I wouldn't give up on the cutting with my Cameo. In the end I had too, frustratingly so. If any of you have a solution, I would be grateful in case it happens again.

I dragged images into the design area, traced it all then send to print and cut, all that happened when I sent to cut was, it said it had finished cutting - without actually moving! It would cut if I took the images off??? No problem with anything else! I tried it all ways.

Anyhow, I changed what I wanted to cut and instead cut them out by hand. I added 3D gloss to the acorns and the cup, with a small brush, as it was a largish area, I'm surprised it worked, I thought it may have line marks, I will do it this way again.

BABY card

Hi Everyone, my card today is for a friend of mine who requested an adoption baby card. I had made a few before and was tempted to repeat one of them, then looking through the web discovered the most wonderful image and HAD to go with it. The baby is 10 months old, so it suits perfectly, then what to add to the front? after my own experience, I decided to use a wonderful and so true sentiment, I hope they all like it.

Phantom birthday card

Hi Everyone, my card today is for my #5 Niece who was 50 on the 18th, she is a massive fan of Phantom of the Opera and her birthday was spent in London, with a luxury meal and stay at an expensive hotel and at the Theatre watching it for the umpteenth time :) As I increased the size of the piano, I also had to make a special envelope, just in time to catch the post, so forgot to show the envelope.

rose - cut from Tonic flip-flop die

I thought I would share the deluge we had Saturday afternoon, after a glorious sunny morning, this happened and lasted 4 hours, luckily the drains held out and the road wasn't flooded. We have had a LOT of rain recently, but I think this was the heaviest.

you can see the water on the road like a stream

This is next doors roof, you can see the force of the rain on the tiles.

13 year old birthday

Hi Everyone another simple card from me today, I was late getting this done for my GNiece and had to get it done and in the post. Don't you hate when that happens? I have all birthdays on my desktop so there is no excuse, I don't know what happened this time.

Anyhow, I cut the 13 card shape and the numbers out in the Cameo, coloured the image in PS and cut it out on the Cameo. It's an A5 size. Embossed the numbers and that's all it was. Told you it was quick LOL
Image - Art by Miran
birthday die cut  with metallic paper - Tonic
embossing folder - Embossalicious
glitter - Nuvo pure sheen silver

I thought I would add a wall here, for you to pick up if you want, it's a wall being rebuilt locally and I thought it had wonderful texture, I may use it in something soon and you can too, IF you would like to lift it.

Close to this wall is this disused "Water Viaduct" associated with the Iron Industry, now a local public pathway, with wonderful views...

...with a river underneath that has a house by it, that Richard Burton the actor and who married Elizabeth Taylor lived, his house on the right, with an extension (now). Here's a link with more about them.

Wedding cards

Hi Everyone, my post today included 2 cards, why? you may ask, because a friend of mine asked if I would make cards for herself and her Mother for her Daughter's Wedding Day.

I had recently bought a car die which I thought looked so elegant, not knowing that the order would be within days of me buying it.

wedding car die - Sweet Dixie
flower corner die - Sue Wlson
oval pin dot dies - Tattered Lace
embossing folder - Embossolicious
the text was sketched on both cards by the Cameo with dark grey and silver pens,

silver card from stash

as it was for the same couple I wanted something completely different.
dp - The Lovely Studio (used to be Pink Petticoat)

Masking!

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for
OH! NOT good for me, BUT this is a challenge and I'm up for it. I should have gone with PS masking so much easier LOL.

I have a limited amount of  "real" stamps, am I satisfied NO! this took me way out of my comfort zone. Firstly I stamped at least 10 times to get anywhere what I wanted, using the lids of inks to stamp from, as I don't have a stamp block!

I used water colour pencils for the images, added 3D gloss to the lamp and windows, some silver glitter pen on his bobble, even all that didn't turn out right, but I had left it to the last minute and HAD to go with it. I did TRY though! I have an awful lot of practicing to do with colouring and stamping, not my favourite thing to do. I LOVE these fabulous gnomes and the little house.

All Stamps - freebie in magazine by Apple Blossom Stamps,

Dragon girl

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for

Anything Goes Challenge
you can use any image.

I used an image which was introduced in June of this year and of course he had to be a Welsh "RED" Dragon, I coloured it in PS, found a quote on the internet, which I think maybe refers to me LOL. I added 3D gloss to his horns, teeth and his eye. I'm glad to say it looks good in real life, although the gems look blue in the photo, they are in fact purple to match his scales.

you can see the 3D gloss clearer in this photo

25th Anniversary vase and box

Hi Everyone, I have had lots of celebration cards to make this last couple of weeks and this is another, one made for my baby Brother and SiL, who's Silver Anniversary is today, we will be away for a couple of days near Taunton, celebrating the renewal of their vows with lots of family and friends, I hope I've got this post scheduled correctly LOL.

They didn't want presents just donations to the Motor Neuron Disease Charity, the illness our elder brother died of 3 years ago. I decided to make a little something for them anyway.

The Big Box I made was for their present, which is a "hurricane" vase, you can now see by the shape, why it wouldn't go into the box I made. Anyhow, my "Bruvva" had sent me a cartoon image of themselves done earlier this year, so why not use it I thought?
I copied it into the design area of the Silhouette, traced it and cut it out of vinyl, then etched it with Armour paste to get the image, frame and 25 onto the vase. I didn't want it too obvious, I hope they like it. I have also done a card - of course, which will be I shall show you in a few days.

It's difficult to photo, but I hope you can see enough to give you an idea of what I did.

this is the box I had to redo to get the size correct.
I'm afraid a boring square one.

The cut file bow is from a Crafters Companion CD "A Walk in the Countryside"
paper - The Range
sentiment - sketched and cut on the Cameo
corner die - Tonic
bling from stash
vase as above

Christmas lights!

Hi Everyone, my card today is for the Limited Runs progressive challenge and if you share the FB post you get the image free or you can buy it for a $1.

Onto my card, I looked for quotes on Christmas lights on the web and came across one, that really made me smile, so I HAD to use it, this is my take on the card I saw. Even the LR Christmas light image seemed to have a smiley face. This quote may not apply with LED lights, but it certainly did on older lights, such a nuisance to have to replace each one, before finding the broken one. Ah! the good old days LOL.

Christmas light and Emu - Limited Runs
I coloured them in PS and duplicated the
Christmas light image a "few" times and added shadows onto the snow
then 3D'd the images
background - Sharon Grant @ Pixelscrapper,
I changed the colour of the background to blue
snow effect - Winter Sparkleland @ ScrapOrchard
Stickles Frosted Lace over the snow on the tree and star on lights.

Christmas Robin

Hi Everyone, you won't believe this post! Because I did something I had never done - colour a die cut AND splattered watercolour pencils!

I'd better start from the beginning, I saw the sketch at the Outlawz and it gave me an idea to use a die I bought a few weeks ago. I then searched in my files for some papers and came across a robin paper in a digi kit, I had forgotten about.

I laid it all out in PS then thought I can't colour the robin in PS! no problem I'll cut it out of different colour cards. I had earlier used a clear stamp (yep! me  did some "real" stamping on a trial basis) and, had some water colour pencils on my desk, so why not colour the die cut in pencils, well it was worth a try. This is the result and I'm over the moon with my Robin! I also coloured the poinsettia with watercolours and then splattered the circle with water and the pencils.

I put it all together and realised I hadn't added the scallop circle in the sketch, so Cameo to the rescue, I cut a scalloped circle and cut the centre out of it, then added it to the already finished card!
