A Cameo

Hi Everyone, my DT offering for the Morgan's Art World  challenge,
which today is "Anything Goes".

I have used the fabulous FB September freebie image of the month at Morgan's Art World,
which is available at the start of each month for free,
you can get it in the shop now here

I also used a freebie digital kit by Indigo Designs, with masks to frame the image,
which I coloured in PS. I thought she deserved to be dramatic, so,
I added red background to match the roses in her hair and
added a black grunge background.
Apart from the 3D butterfly it is a one layer image,
I layered it onto a black paper layer and
added a few sequins to give her some glitter?

Leaves

Hi Everyone the challenge at

Although there is a vast amount of things I could do have done,
I decided to make a card for a friend of ours who has a few things
going on in his life that have caused him a lot of worry.

I saw that Paulette at Create at TLC  had the perfect sentiment that he needs.
I cut a frame from Lettering Delights on the Cameo
Papers and elements are by Janet Scott at Pixelscrapper
I paper pieced one of her leaf shapes with 3 different papers
then 3D'd the leaves
Added her velvet ribbon element 3D'd and placed a real ribbon on top
and used a marker for the edge.

Car Christmas card.

Hi Everyone, I saw these at Gingers House and thought that's ME!

After an awful week of inaction, laziness and no mojo, I just had to get a card done for the Outlawz Sketch challenge, after all I was featured in last weeks showcase for this card.

We have a wedding of my Great Niece in 3 weeks and I haven't anything to wear to it, no present for couple, I need my hair cut and can't be bothered to do any of it! SO this card is a major event LOL.

Anyhow my card -
I followed the sketch, which unbelievably was quite difficult
for me this week, Told you no mojo, even with the fab sketch.
The digital paper is by ADB Designs at Digital Scrapbook Studio
The tag image is also by ADB Designs
Die is Tattered Lace Venetian
printed out and layered onto red card
gold stretch rope bow
Tonic Red glitter on some of the berries in the car.
AND at least I have another Christmas card done.

Spotlight Technique ?

Hi Everyone a card with a, new for me, technique I tried,
but not like you clever people, but in PS.
with a pattern by Marisa Lerin at Pixelscrapper
The sentiment is a free download from Desert Diva
I selected a circle shape and made a mask of the shape then painted inside the circle.
I printed it out on cross hatched paper, making it an interesting texture effect.
I 3D'd the sentiment and added little squares
which are off cuts from a die I used ages ago.
I suppose by my digital try at this effect, I am daring to be different.

I really didn't couldn't see the point of scrapbook pages
UNTIL I made a couple of digital pages,
now I am seeing photos for what they can be, and I'm loving it.
Here is a scrap page I did with photos of my recent camera walk.
Template is by Jilbert Beginnings
The papers, flowers and berries elements are Dawn by Design.

Card and scrapbook page

Hello Everyone, I wanted to make a card for someone who is quite ill and thought I
would send a card to let her know a lot of people are thinking of, and praying for her.
As it's an overseas card, I didn't want it too layered, to reduce the postage.

I used a Silhouette nesting stitched fancy labels file, from the Silhouette shop
I used the 2 smallest and put the image by Booland Designs
into the smallest, then print and cut.
the "stitches" didn't cut all the way through,
so instead of cutting them again,
I decided to add Uniball silver glitter pen to "join" them up.
Quite a plain card for me, but love the stitched cut file.

I thought I would show you my layout I did of my Great Niece,
I have already posted it on the Dragon's Lair Facebook Fan page,
the papers and elements are a freebie if you post your layout in the
Monthly Fan Group Challenge.

I coloured her digitally, placed her on apple background paper by Janet Scott
used an apple background and apple pin by Just So Scrappy
Sentiment from Create with TLC
gingham ribbon Docrafts
layered onto pearl paper.
The insert uses the same paper and a recipe I got HERE

Medieval card and die storage!

Hi Everyone, the card today is one I have been wanting to make for AGES! but the detail put me off colouring, however once I started it flew and wasn't half as bad as I thought.

The image Gerient and Enid is by Morgan's Artworld.
I followed the colours of a digital kit by Paty Grief,
the papers are from the kit,
image coloured in CS6,
EF folders by Tattered Lace,
label is a PS shape fussy cut.
font is Old English.

I HAVE to show you my die storage, that I ordered and received last week.
This is what I used to use, until I noticed a couple were starting to lose shape!

The MDF files I ordered from HERE hold 10 A4 magnetic sheets,
hubby helped me, yep! no choice!!
he added No Nails glue to the sheets and added them each side of the pull out of the holder.
They are inside the Ikea unit I have at my side, just lean down slightly and voila a die to hand.
I know I don't have as many as most of you, however after all the gluing of the magnetic sheets,
(the file holder came complete in a large box) and clearing up,
everything was so tidy and in it's place, with a few slide outs empty,
ready for dies (I will desperately need at a later date,) I was overjoyed.

Anyhow a week later, I went to cut out the squares on this card,
leaned down to get my Tonic layering square dies, I couldn't find them!!!!! aaaarrrrrrggggggghhhhhhh, where are they?
Then remembered I hadn't got enough magnetic sheets to put them on
so I had put them - WHERE!
After an hourish of looking - with hubby!

I concluded he had put them into the bin with the odd small magnetic sheets,
which he thought I didn't need!
The rubbish went out LAST WEEK!
Which meant my layering Tonic Square, Circle, Rectangle, Oval and
My Favourite things pierced square dies had all disappeared! I could cry!

Anyhow he made up for it by saying to order more,
I have ordered pin dot dies in case I DO find them, although this is highly unlikely.
In the meantime I have my other dies beautifully stored in a quite a small space.
I'm not sure if I will cover them as they are not seen, will see what I feel like at a later date.

card papers used from this kit.

cutting her skirt again to 3D
adding the sentiment from Create with TLC
onto the ribbon from Ikea
I added stitches with the Uniball silver glitter pen

I loved this card so cased it.

Frankenstein

Hi Everyone, I'm not usually into Halloween cards, although it is a time that is getting more popular in the UK. However, I make at least one every year, the first always for our neighbours children, they are both teens now, so I can do something a little grown up for them and when I saw the Create with TLC had this kit, with quite a few things I can use, like added to choccie bars etc. WELL I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

Here he is and I have to say I LOVE him.
The sentiment included sends me into chuckles every time I look at him.

the background paper is by Summertime Designs
the Halloween is a paint image by Sahin Designs
onto which I digitally added a shadow, which brought out the words
I digitally painted the face
printed them all out, with the image a few times to layer the image
I added a Tattered Lace die of the same background
(OK only because I made a mistake while printing the background out)
I added silver Uniball Glitter pen to the "metal" on his face and the screws
and also a little onto the sentiment and die.
All layered onto black card with some ribbon added.
For the insert I decided to have the background paper as
grey with the paint image by Sahin Designs
and adding more images from the Create with TLC kit.

you can see the glitter pen a little on this closeup.

Star Treck - Yoda

Hi Everyone, I have copied the post from The Male Room as it has all the details for the Super challenge there from today AND it couldn't have suited me better and I couldn't have put it better so thank you Deborah! LOL.

It's time for our new challenge at The Male Room - TMR#44. For the next couple of weeks we have the theme;

STAR TREK (or any other space series)

Why Star Trek? Well, it's because I'm a huge science-fiction fan and because the franchise is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year. I started watching the show as a kid in the 60s and I love it. I've just seen the latest Star Trek movie by JJ Abrams and highly recommend it. And because many guys really like sci-fi programmes.

You don't have to stick to Star Trek inspired ideas - and there are thousands from the various TV shows and movies - you can base your space series (science fiction) project on any series from Star Wars, Stingray, Dr Who, Twilight Zone, Stargate, Falling Skies, Six Million Dollar Man, Superman, Quantum Leap, Arrow - and this list goes on!! If your inspiration is not immediately clear, do tell us what show you've picked.

I didn't know what to do, I had already done a Space theme birthday card for my Son, so put my thinking cap on, it's not on that often LOL. I asked my Son if he would like anything Space-y, he said no, then for some reason I thought he likes his Pringles, perhaps I could hack a box? SO -
I measured the size of the box, I would need for the printing and found I would have to add a little to the A4 size paper I used, to join it, no problem.

I designed and coloured it all in PS
after finding this incredible image of Yoda here Deviant Art
The background trees are my own photograph from my recent walk,
(I knew it would come in handy!)
with a colour overlay to make the background green.
I added a gradient to make the light spot behind him.
I added the quote again inside the lid and cut it out with a Tonic circle die
The quote came from the web.

This could so easily be achieved in Word or another program.

I'm glad to say Son was thrilled to bits with it and it has pride of place on his desk,
he has even refilled it since I made it LOL.

I have shown all sides of the can and the lid, the darker photo is the original before printing. The colours are not as faded in real life, it was a dull day and I couldn't get better colour - sorry.

Bath time

Hi everyone, my card today is for the Digistamps4joy Progressive challenge. I love this image, she's is Sooooooo relaxed! I had great fun putting this together.
I coloured the image digitally,
embossed the green layer with a bubbles Scruffy Little Cat EF,
added bath soap etc image by Trina Clark, to the pink layer,
which I duplicated a few times and used an overlay blend to it.
I added a 3D towel by Shelleys Images, I found in my files and a little gem too.
I used the bath paper and sentiment,
I also used the paper and another sentiment in the insert all from Create with TLC,
I printed them all out and layered them onto black paper.

Sun Shiney day

Another scrapbook page for you

Hi Everyone, my card today is for the Outlawz Sketch challenge. I thought it good opportunity to do another Christmas card and searching through my files found -

the image and the sentiment by Create with TLC
I followed the sketch in PS and paper pieced his cloak with Shabby Princess paper,
then coloured the rest of him, I decoupaged him to bring him to life.
The background paper is a wonderful serene winter background by Jilbert Designs
I used Cosmic Shimmer Gilding Flakes for the borders.
Added a ribbon with a snowflake die by Die'sire with a spot of Tonic fine glitter.

Retro 90th birthday

Hi Everyone, Yep! another 90th card, this one VERY different to my last post, but I wanted a bit of fun and colour for hubby's cousin. I found this great image and sentiment by Create with TLC and teamed them with a free paper from a magazine. I added the 90th at a jaunty angle, so it, sort of, looked like part of the sentiment.  I coloured the image digitally, printed it all out and layered onto matching card. The insert was done with an image by Elizabeth Dulemba and more sentiments by Create with TLC , it was kept flat for posting. I think it's a happy card and hope she thinks so too.

Here is the end of my walk photos, I hope you've enjoyed my local scenery.

90th birthday card

Hi Everyone, my offering today is a 90th birthday card requested by my SIL for her cousin. She wanted an "old type" card. I found the papers and the digital image by Jilbert Designs, added a sentiment by Create with TLC and her age which I debossed in PS. I print and cut the image on the Cameo and 3D'd it. I also added a Die'sire die behind it, then added a pearl on the flower. It's a flattish card for posting. I'm glad to say she liked it.

Onto page 2 of my walk

Well done!

Hi Everyone, my card today is simple and certainly not what I intended, but I went with it and I like it. LOL It was made for my Great Nephew who had done brilliantly well in his exams.

I cut the words and the award badge out on the Cameo and drew stitching with the Uniball gold glitter pen, I added some star buttons and it was done.  The words and the award badge element are 3D'd. CAS certainly, but for a teenage boy? I think OK.

Award badge by Just So Scrappy

I also decided to make a scrapbook page, of part of my recent walk. I have made 3 from this particular walk, so will add to the next 2 posts. hope you enjoy them.

The page was made using a template by Chelle's Creations at Scraporchard.

Framed Christmas card

Hi Everyone, I have done a Christmas card for the Outlawz Sketch challenge and the Dragons Lair Facebook Christmas in September challenge, for some reason I found this quite difficult, although it should have been easyish!

I cut the gold card frame on the Cameo  and cut the rest by hand. apart from the die cuts. I used red card for a change from the usual white I use. Well! it's a Christmas card LOL. I digitally coloured the insert image.

Papers and sentiment element, Dragon's Lair Designs
front and insert Sentiment and image Create with TLC
Die Tattered Lace

Thought I would add a couple of images from my walk today. After being sedentary for a few years, I am now making an effort to go walking most days as my blood sugars are not good, AND my flexibility is not good either and after a week of a little action, I already feel better, so onward and upward - hopefully.

Cows and a harvest collected

A lane that used to be a road, until it was cordoned off for pedestrians, now nearly grown into a path!

Top of the outlet from what used to be a waterfall that has been diverted and released lower down.

Different view of the river.
