Birthday card

Hi everyone, sorry haven't been around for a little while, we have had lovely visitors to stay,  but here I am with a quick post of a card I made on the weekend.

I was asked to make a card with a photo on the card, it's for the "baby's" 30th birthday.  I started by scanning the photo and adjusting the colours, they are better, but not quite "normal".  I then used digital papers Happy Birthday mini kit a freebie by Numb Bumm Designs HERE I'm afraid you will have to search for it, as I couldn't find the kit and didn't have time to search for longer.

I added the string, with the numbers added, from the same kit, then added the photo, I found some digi eyelets by Gina Jane at DAISIE, erased part of the string and added the eyelets so it looked like it was going through them.  I added the sentiment with Papyrus and One Starry Night fonts, I thought the starry font matched the curls of the string.  I printed it all out onto an 8 x 8 card. then printed the top half again on Cuddly Buddly eggshell paper to give it a bit of shine, I cut around the tags making them 3D, added Stickles to the dots and copied the flame from the number to make a border for the bottom of the card which was also Stickled.  Hope you all like it. It took ages to do, but I so enjoy playing with the effects in PS, to see what I can achieve, I'm learning more everyday.

Sweet Sixteen sillouette

Hello everyone, a beautiful morning has developed into a dull afternoon, looking like rain, at least our very strong wind has slowed today.  Hubby is cleaning the car, so thought I would come and show you my latest card.

I had a request from a friend for a card to send to the USA for a 16 year old "grown up, sophisticated clever girl", this meant no embellishments due to the postal charges.  I had a  few things in mind then was told it should be pinky! So I had a look through my massive amount of images and papers and put this together, I layered it all digitally, it's Silhouette by NumbBumm a fab kit.  I cut out the centre circle which is an element from moonlight oasis designs by jmdt. and the sentiment and added them to the front, not raised, again because of postage charges., I added some pink bling, ribbon from Fantastic Ribbons and cut out her name in black. I'm glad to say my friend was pleased, just hope the girl is :) She even said that the silhouette looks like the girl who's birthday it is, which is uncanny, but there, it is coming up to Halloween. LOL

EDITED 27/10/12 I have been asked for a link for the kit at NumbBumm it starts  HERE

Cheat card?

What a beautiful Sunday morning this is today, puffy white clouds in the blue skies, a breeze, enough to dry the clothes on the line, and the sun warm (as long as you are in it). We had our first frost of the season last night. I wonder if we are going to have a really cold winter again?

Anyway on to my "cheat" cards.  I was shopping in The Range a couple of weeks ago and saw these little bears by Me To You in a pick and mix box, I think they were 3 for a £1 and decided as I never buy things like this I would try them.  Then couldn't think what to do with them, until yesterday I decided I HAD to do something.  I followed a Clean and Simple Sketch for each one, 'cause I love it and added some digi papers and came up with these.  I suppose they are supposed to be quick cards, but it took time looking through my stash at digi papers to match them.  I am very pleased as to how they have come out though and may even buy a few more at some time.  The font on each one is Boring Showers.

Hope you all are having a good weekend.

I used digi papers Hello Sunshine by KLewis a freebie scrapbook kit on Facebook
The background digi paper on this is a freebie I had years ago, but I added yellow to the white stripe to match and the spot is by Summer Driggs flipflopsicles

The digi paper on this one is out of a kit Digitally Smitten from Digital Design Essentials by Gina Cabrera

I am going to add these to my DoCrafts gallery.

Fairy Wishes - second post today

Hope your weekend has been a peaceful one, as it has for us, at last!  The weather has been kind too.

I have used 2 digi stamps by Meljens Designs Flutterby Fairy and Meadow background for this card, aren't they both great? I paper pieced the butterfly in PS with Audrey Jean Roberts Winged Jewels collection digi paper.  I coloured the flowers of the meadow also in PS, printed out and then decoupaged the butterfly and fairy, I HAD to add Glamour Dust to the butterfly and fairy too. and added a little to the flowers. The font is Melanie BT, I have to say I love this little card, it doesn't need any embellishments as I think it holds it's own.  But there what do I know LOL.

 I shall enter this into

Love Tree

Here's a card I did for a challenge and an order, but didn't get around to entering it, time goes so quickly doesn't it? AND as Mr Mojo has gone walkabout, I'll post this card.  It's Love Tree a digi stamp from Sew Many Cards, in PS I paper pieced Summertime designs red digi paper into the heart shapes, printed it out and then tried embossing the hearts, I made a shape with a fine embossing tool around the hearts and then turned the card over and embossed the shape from the back,  I then 3D glossed them, which really made them stand out. I was quite pleased with the result, hope you can see it in the photos.
