Son birthday card

It's my son's 36th birthday today, where do the years go?

I decided, as always, to use a lion theme as he is a true Leo.  I had seen Tagxedo on a few blogs so went there to see if I could do anything and came up with this colourful lion.  The background came pure black, so in PS I played with it and added a blue mask around the the edge.  The digi papers and some of the buttons are a freebie by Dawn by Design at Digichick, the spotted buttons are by Gina Cabrera also at Digichick, I added a label in the same colour as one of the papers and "warped" it in PS. I then added multi coloured embroidery thread wound around a few times.  I'm happy to say he was pleased with it.

Thank you teacher

I was asked to do a Teacher thank you card, for my friend's daughter to her French teacher. I always wanted to speak French, but, I was in the class below the geniuses who were able to study it.  I suppose I could have learnt it another time or even now. Anyway - I had to find out how to spell and say your great on this card, thank goodness for a genius SIL and Google LOL.  Just hope Google has it right!

The digital papers are by Bella Gypsy, the digi stamp is by Pink Poison, I added a scroll cut file by Shirley's Cards, I cut 2 of the same and turned one upside down.  The ribbons are the 3 colours of the paper.  I did the Merci beacoup on my Cricut and also a scalloped oval frame. I 3D'd the apple

Well, it seems that I have made one heck of a mistake with this card and spelt Beaucoup wrong!!!!! what a plonker and not only got it wrong, but gave it to my friend and she didn't say anything about the  spelling!  Thank you to the people who pointed it out.  I have even posted my mistake, trust me to do this. DUH! told you I didn't know French.  I checked my file and thankfully I had it right inside.  Don't know if that is good or bad.

Blue and Green

Less is More this week is -

As it is the first of the month and colour we have chosen
Blue & Green
There is an old saying
Blue & Green should not be seen, Unless there's a colour inbetween!
In this day and age no colour combo is taboo, in some cases the wilder the better.
You may wish to go natural, with summer blue skies and green foliage or quirky, snazzy,
navy and lime. It's completely up to you, we cannot wait to see what you come up with.

Well here is my card, actually 2 cards and I could have done more, but the sun was calling me outside after work, what a wonderful couple of days for a change.

The house is by Bugaboo and is paper pieced and coloured  in PS, the DP is by Audrey Jean Roberts, I added the ribbon, blue for the sky and green for the grass! sorry that's how my mind worked at that moment.  The card has gone a bit curved going through the printer, but that will be corrected with a bit of weight on it.

My second card was a fluke, because I was looking for DP's to go into the house card and I came across this DP by Kara Henry at craftastical, blue and green - just the colours, so I cut a piece of the DP and copied one of the cars in PS and enlarged it, the border frame is also from the kit. So another card was born and so simply too, of course I had to add Stickles and I added 2 buttons, can you tell I made up the sentiment, I know, simple!

Sympathy card and flourish

I have quite a few things to show you today, hope your not going to be bored!

Blogger seems to have added a few underlines and bold text, don't know why.

I had a phone call this morning to let me know my dear cousin has passed on, he was 88 he went quietly in his sleep, which was wonderful to know he hadn't suffered.

Around the same time I had a follower email post from "baileyrosey" (Marie from Greece), Here in it was a sketch for a card and as I had to make one for my cousin's daughter, I decided to follow it.

This is the result, the papers are Krafty Florals from Gina Cabrera at Digital Designs Essentials the text paper is by Linda Tieu at BackToPaper.  I cut the flourish by Krewellakreations twice and joined them in the middle to get it stretched as in the sketch.  I added pearls from Crafts-Too.  The centre paper I added a brush flourish in PS to match the cut flourish.

Last weekend we had a wedding in the street, well not literally in the street, but the bride lives in the street, no, she doesn't live in the street but in a house in the street, now I expect you are totally confused.  Anyhow, as she had a horse and carriage to take her to church, I was well placed to take some pictures of her passing our house - THEN - 2 cars stopped in front of me and these were all I could get, but I thought it too pretty to not show you.

We had a pigeon in the garden who looked like he was too fat to fly, how he got up in the air I don't know, here he is.  He could hardly walk.  I was thinking of dinner when I saw him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I think that is all for today, enough! I hear you say!  Apart from hasn't it been a wonderful couple of days for Team GB.  So exciting. I can't over we have had medals that we haven't had for over 100 years, fantastic.

meercat birthday

I'm back in work for my 3 day stint, after choosing the best week of the summer to be off, whoooopppppeeeeee!  I was going to do lots of crafting, but in the end only did a couple of challenges, oh! well the best laid plans are meant to be broken ay?

I was asked to make a card for a girl in work for her nephew, it had to be funnyish and say 21 on it.  I took it in and she loved it, - why - because the meercats looked like her nephew!!!!!!!!!!! she said I couldn't have picked anything better, one satisfied customer LOL.

The meercats were a free download from Papercraft Inspirations magazine.  I coloured them in PS and used DP's by Danielle Engebretson at Digichick for the rest of the meercat and the background and banner, I cut the 21 on my Cricut. I 3D'd the bunting so they looked like they were waving.
