Photoshop Tutorial

I have been asked to make a tutorial on my colouring in Photoshop, well here it is, I don't pretend to be an expert and there are lots of tutorials on the web, I can only say this is what I do, VERY simple and someday I hope to be able to do it the professional way.  I am self taught so there has to be a "better" way, but this works for me with my digi stamps.
I would love to have your comments on this.

Green

It's been a beautiful day here today again, of course I have to be working! I finished at 3.30pm today and the sun went behind the clouds at 3pm, it was still warm though, but I didn't get to see much of the sun.  We have had a few weeks of autumn weather and even the acer in the garden has decided to start putting it's winter coat on, the silver birch has quite a few yellow leaves too, it is very early for this to happen, looks like we may be getting another early winter.

On to my cards, a new web page for DigiDarla HERE has opened and has a challenge for Green and Clean, I thought as green and white is one of my favourite combinations, (as you can see from this page) I thought easy.

WRONG! it's not often I tear up cards as I usually layout in PS as you know, I did my usual thing laid it all out, mmmm not sure, but it will look good printed I thought - WRONG! OK no problem, tear it up and start again, well I tore up the next 2 and thought this is a challenge too far, leave it before I go mad.

Tonight I thought I would have another go, refreshed and all that.  I went to the freebie digis I have from DigiDarla and saw this little man, I could use that, thought I.  First thing a sketch, I found one in my file from CASS#17 which I thought "clean" then inspiration fell from the sky and I thought paper piecing, I used a paper from Carrie Stephens for his trousers, Summertime Designs Green Grey Gears for his shirt, Shabby Princess Harvest Spice Green diamonds for his tie and coloured his hat and shoes, a bit of shading and here he is, with Stickles of course.  I then decoupaged him as you can see in the close up, in the end I am quite pleased with the effect.  I cut the ovals on my Cricut with Fairycuts software and cut the butterfly with Straight from the Nest cartridge and my Cricut.  His flowers are brighter IRL, but I did take the picture late.

I have also entered the Creative Craft challenge "3D it" - http://creativecraftchallenges2.blogspot.com/2011/07/lets-3d-it-and-winners-post.html?showComment=1311800778075#c1862323371489262288

2 cards same but different!

It's been a funny old day today, very cloudy but quite warm, we didn't have anything planned so it was PLAYTIME!!
I have been blog hopping and saw a challenge on Meljens Designs that required 1 bow, 3 brads and a circle, HERE into which will enter my Girly card, I looked at my sketches and found one that I hadn't used before which fitted the description.   This is the sketch don't know who it's by sorry.

I have made 2 cards with the same sketch , one masculine with DigiDarla's Eagle and one girly with Meljens Designs Teddy Cookie. I cut the circles on my Cricut with the Straight from the nest cartridge for the scalloped and Doodlecharms for the plain circle.
I had taken the photos to post them and as I was writing realised I hadn't done the "bow" DUH!.  So out with the ribbons and search for something suitable, this is what I did.

The DP paper are - background Summertime Designs Damask Brown and the spotted paper Mandy Maed Brown Polka Dot, some jute cord and brads from stash

This is the girly card
The papers are by Janniscrap Designs Spring Meadow, the brads and ribbon from stash.
I shall be putting the Eagle card in DigiDarlas gallery and entering the following challenges with it
