Stamping and digital die cutting?

Hi Everyone, I hope you're all well and things are good with you. Today I have something I never thought I would be able to do. Stamping and cutting out with the digital die cutting machine !

I saw a YouTube video that showed how to do it, (I've lost the link sorry) so I tried and although it's a little time consuming for layering, I think it may be OK occasionally, if wanted for a special card? I'm glad I tried it though.

Anyhow, this is the card I did. I printed cutting registration marks out, then stamped onto the marked printed paper, I scanned them into my PC. I merged them to my machine program, traced them and added an outline, as if they were die cut. I then put the registration marked and stamped paper into my machine and cut them.

When they had been cut, I coloured the cut stamps with DI's.

I have this lovely blue pearlised paper in my stash, I wanted to emboss it, but was interrupted by a telephone call, I came back to my desk and carried on attaching the stamps with dimensionals to the paper, when I had added it all to the card, I realised I hadn't embossed. Must be an old age thing or too many things in my old mind hahaha.

I've added the images of the procedure, although, I guess, not many of you have a digital cutting machine. However it just shows what can be done.

here is my card
stamps are Magazine freebies from SCPC
inks - DI's
blue paper - stash
drops - Nuvo Crystal Drops gold

I haven't given instructions, just shown how I did it, but if of you are interested please contact me and I'll explain what to do. This means that you can still stamp and emboss and then add it to a coloured background.

the cut out stamps before colouring

the left over "die cut" paper
where you see the words on the top left, my paper moved on the cutting mat during cutting,  so I just used the images that cut OK.

Morning Faith, what a gorgeous card the image is stunning. I don't have a digital machine but I am sure the ones that do will be so happy to know this.xx

That is a lovely card Faith. Of course it helps that you have coloured it so beautifully.
I am quite intrigued by this technique. I have tried Print and Cut files with limited success. The machine really seems to struggle to read the registration marks, but I shall give this a go. (I use a strip of masking atpe at the corners to stop my paper moving unless I am using a really new mat).
Sorry I haven't been around much lately. Now the weather is cooling down a bit I hope to craft some more. Thanks for this inspiration. Kate x

My goodness, that is so clever Faith and what a stunning card you made with your pieces. I love the way you coloured your hydrangea and it looks SO good against the clean blue background - no embossing required in my opinion! I used to have a sentiment that said 'have a bloomin' good day' and it always made me chuckle! Sadly it has gone now but thank you for reminding me :) Hope you're having a bloomin' marvellous day yourself!! Vicky x

Beautiful card, Faith. I love your colour choice. I bought a preloved die cutting machine from a friend ages ago, which is still in the box in my craft room! I'm not sure why I'm so afraid of it, I really ought to get it out and have a play. xx

A beautiful card Faith, lovely stamps and gorgeous colours - it all sounds a bit complicated to me, I think I'll stick with my scissors.

You are a clever gal Faith!! I know people who have the Brother's Scan and Cut do this, and I know there is a way for us with an electronic die cutter to do it too....but it is time consuming I've heard. But worth it for that special card. I don't know how to do it with my machine, but so cool that you were able to figure it out with your machine! I love how beautiful your card is!!! Yes, I am more incline to think you forgot because you have a lot on your mind, that's what I say too....that's my story and I'm sticking to it! lol Hugs, Brenda

Too cool, Miss Thing! lol I sure hope Monica sees this - she'll understand it and may try it herself. It's all gobbledeegook to me but your step out photos are definitely tutorial-worthy! But what is SCPC? I get Creative Stamping sent to me from across the pond, is that the magazine? I also was able to order the rest of my VersafineClair reinkers online from a store in UK called Buddly Crafts and it was super fast!!!!! And even with shipping, each bottle was cheaper than what they sell here (I already have those colors). I need to send them a thank you email and tell them how awesome they are. Even the Creative Stamping lady I deal with is soooo nice. Thinking I will live where my Rowlett ancestors did in Leicester and Northampton in my next life. And come visit you! hahaha XOX

What a great job figuring out that process, Faith, and the card is fantastic! I don't have an electronic cutter, still preferring good old metal dies, but there are times when I'm forced to do fussy cutting that I yearn for one. :-D

What a beautiful card Faith and so worth the effort. You are so talented with your digital cutting machine and what a unique and creative card x. I know exactly what you mean about 'forgetting' things x.

You are the smartest cardmaker in my book.
You said this would be an occasionally Okay option for a special card. Well, you smartypants, you documented each of your steps so the next time you want to do it BOOM! it's right there.
The card is beautiful without embossing.

It's a beautiful card, one of my fave flowers too.

I'm so glad you shared your cut outs because this happens to me and I thought it was only me that the thing can slip and end up with a bad cut. I have done this technique but apparently some stamp companies don't like their images scanned so I've steered away from it.

What a beautiful card, Faith! I love that this technique worked so well for you and your colored and cut out images are beautiful. Your shading with the DIs is incredible.
Sorry that I am so late in responding to your posts. The days seem to fly by at an alarming speed.
Hugs Monica
