Santa's Letter

Hi Everyone, a last minute make for me after receiving another poem off SiL's Sister. I just had to make something to try and make it come alive a little. I hope I've done this fab poem justice.

A Christmas Cracker - maybe?

Hi Everyone, my SiL's Sister is a very clever lady and writes great poetry too. My SiL sent me this poem, as she was so proud of what her Sister had done, I thought it wonderful, so made a card with it. I hope she likes it when she gets it. I believe she has gone on holidays for Christmas.

Before I show it to you, I had better explain for my non British friends, that this poem actually has an innuendo and I believe the "cracker" is a typically British Christmas tradition. This is what the Collins English Dictionary explains the meaning of "Cracker" - a decorated cardboard tube that emits a bang when pulled apart, releasing a toy, a joke, or a paper hat. a toy from a Christmas cracker
I went searching to try and show you what I mean and came across this site which explains more if you wish to go there?

The innuendo? The other meaning of cracker is "she is a cracker" meaning she is good looking.

Anyhow here it is.

Hi Everyone, I'm sorry I'm not around much, but hopefully will be asap.

is sponsoring a challenge over at
the theme being - Show Us Your Style.
I've never thought what my style is, so just went ahead using this wonderful
Teddy Outdoors image available HERE. Then I started writing this post and realised I'm a - "cheap" crafter, I have so many free files, dies, stamps and images and usually use them years after I get them, and I use them a few times. SO, I suppose that's my style?
No automatic alt text available.
I coloured the image in Photoshop CS6
printed and added Anita's Clear Gloss to the noses and eyes.
football background - stash - years old file

Zig Zag Village

Hi Everyone, my apologies for my posts far and wide apart, but I can't believe I'm so busy. Anyhow, I saw this Zig Zag Village . It features this beautiful folding Village by Marji Roy and I just had to have it.  You can get it Here or Here.

This is my version, cut on the Silhouette Cameo.
card - Crafters Companion Centura Pearl
red card - stash
wreaths - cut on the Cameo, coloured with
Spectrum Noir Markers, then I clear heat embossed them to give shine.
The church windows were also coloured with the SN markers.
vellum was added behind each window and door.
(there is another file where window features are included in the file, but I didn't see that until I had bought this, oh! well. I still love it though.)

The village is cut and able to be folded flat to be sent as a card, but as I have sent all my cards, I decided to make it as large as I could (9 inches tall) to have it as a decoration, it has wonderful dimension. I am thrilled silly with it and the reactions have been great with visitors too.

I'll show you the lit versions first, with battery tealights.
Sorry about the photo quality, I took it without flash at night.

a closer look

now here it is in the day, you can see the depth it has in the zigzag shape.

Snowman

Hi Everyone, I thought I had better blog a Christmas card I have done. I was so lucky this year, in my clearing out I had found about 50 cards I have done over the years, some MANY years ago, I had made some for challenges etc this year and had only to make about 10ish to get all of them finished written and posted. I suppose clearing out is a good thing ay?

Anyhow onto my card. I saw it while all the files were reduced on Sil store so decided to buy it for my 1 year old Great, Great Nieces card. I also cut the insert and added a sentiment in the Sil program, but forgot to take a photo of it.

Snowman - Lori Whitlock
card nose - Lidl
face - cross hatched card
hat - First Edition

Christmas stocking

Hi Everyone, at last a post from me and a late one again, with apologies to my Teamies for
https://themaleroomchallengeblog.blogspot.com/
I had this file a while ago, as we have Great Nieces and Nephews who we rarely see, but I always give money for Christmas, not good, but as I haven't a clue what they want or need this is what I do. Anyway, I usually have some sort of holder for the money and this year this is what I chose. Easy and quick to put together so I can get other things done as well.
svg file -  Printable Cuttables Creatables - Stocking Gift card holder
cut with the Silhouette Cameo
card from stash
glitter adhesive paper - The Range

I'll catch up with posts and you all asap.

Winners!

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for -

I have a few favourite artists and tried to put together (very quickly because of our circumstances at the moment) something from them, then I came across "Banksy"  a highly controversial artist, but as things are, at the moment, with us, this quote rung true, so I thought it would be perfect. If you think you don't know him, maybe you saw him on the news or an article about one of his paintings that someone bought for a £1 million and it Shredded in the sale room.

Banksy – I'll never quit on this love for Amber. It has destroyed me but I'm still here. My dreams!!

I believe he was either speaking about the painting below or the painting became out of the quote? I'm not sure, and, as he is anonymous? I'm not sure anyone is.

This is my version of
I thought the card would be good for a Congratulations/Exams card,
what do you think?

Kitchen update

Hi Everyone, prepare for a LOT of photos.

Well what a kerfuffle this has all been, They were originally due Monday morning, but delayed on their last job. Tuesday the first morning, they were late due to an accident on the Motorway that had them an hour and half late, to non delivery of 2 appliances and having to order them from elsewhere, then hearing the other 2 won't be delivered until after the fitters were due to leave, so cancelling those and ordering from elsewhere. Then the fitters went to get something and the van broke down, they lose half a day with it. They have done all the ripping out and the rooflight in 2 days. It's been one thing after another. What they have done and the speed they are doing it is great. Although I could with a washing machine and cooking facilities asap LOL

I thought I would show you what has been happening this week.
JUST BEFORE they started ripping it all out,
not too bad for a kitchen that is 25 years old.

This is our conservatory, with our old fridge holding the little food we have to keep us going day to day.

This is as neat as possible storage in my craft room / spare bedroom

We are having a velux window for added light and spotlights.

New electrics and replacement pipes

There is light!

The window fitted and plaster boarded.
