Engine

Hi Everyone, a card today I have done for my eldest Brother who was a Fireman on the old Great Western Railway in the Age of Steam! He told me it was his SPECIAL birthday, I said "that was last year, when you were 80", he said "NO! everyone is special, as I will have reached it by dodging the Grim Reaper" LOL.

I have used the Outlawz sketch of this week, which I turned

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for

the challenge this week is

Shaped card

My card today is a shaped card, after I decided to upgrade to Designer Edition on my Cameo, I had so many SVG files that I had to really play with, between programs I had, to open in Silhouette, so when I saw it was on offer, no option I HAD to do it. I paid £21.77 with £6.77 into my store credit. BARGAIN Ay? This is one of the files I haven't been able to open.

The card file and envelope is from Lettering Delights, I have had it for a couple of years, at least, and never used any of the shapes in the file.
A recent freebie on Create with TLC was this beautiful image.
I coloured her with ordinary coloured pencils
I didn't want to add too much colour.
I am pleased with how it's finished up.
The sentiment is also Create with TLC
coloured around the edge with a colour pencil
I cut both out with Tonic dies
the embossed background was done

Horse rider card

Hi Everyone, my card today is for the Outlawz Sketch challenge, I had a card to make for one of my Nieces, I always make her a card with a horse on it as she is a fanatic horse lover. She does Dressage, so thought this rider would be good for her.
cut on my Cameo, and 3D layered onto the card with the
large horseshoe, don't who this is by, it's an OLD file,
3D gloss added to it.
DP's Retrodiva Designs, not sure if she is still around.
the horseshoe border was made with the same horseshoe
duplicated and laid onto the paper
the centre flower image is by Meljens Designs who is no longer open.
I coloured a few flowers with Spectrum Noir pens.

here is the sketch, which I turned

I thought I would share with you the daffodils coming in the garden,
we'll have flowers before long. I just noticed, hubby has planted the new bulbs this year in a line, ah! well, they are blooming, that's what matters.

STAMPED card!

Hi Everyone, here is a card I made with a stamp set sent to me by my blog friend Hetty,  she does the most amazing work with her stamps and I always admire them, she sent me a couple of vase stamps, now you know I am not a stamper, but, as she had been so generous, I was honour bound to use them. I had told her I didn't know what to do and she said "mix your digital and stamp."

That is what I have done and am I pleased? Oh! YES! I am so thrilled with the end result, I even added a zig pen glue and added embossing powder to it, to get the result on the digital flowers.

ribbon from stash
gold mirror card

I measured the stamp and made the flowers the correct size in PS, then printed the image to stamp over, I had forgotten that stamping doesn't cover the image as it would have done with a digital image, so using the printed image and the stamp, I edited the flower and printed it again, lightening the background (which I preferred). I stamped again to make it look like the digi image was coming out of the vase. I'm really pleased with the result and will definitely use the stamp set again, I had forgotten the beautiful effect of a stamped and embossed image.
Thank you Hetty.

Use Washi tape The Male Room

Hi Everyone, the challenge at

now that made things a little difficult for me, I had one roll, I had used the other couple, I bought, in holding my dies to be cut! Well - it has been said that washi didn't stick to paper as much as other sticky tapes! - it does! so I found out, I took care when sticking my dies to card, just to use it up, THEN this challenge came along and I had a small amount on one roll left! What the heck was I to do? Look up my sketches and see what had one line across that I could use with the washi, Yipee! I found one.

image Deedee's Digis sadly no longer available
sentiment my own
fish Hugware again no longer available - sorry.
everything saved to the Cameo and cut out with an offset border.
added 3D gloss to his nose and eyes and glitter glue to the water.

Bath Congratulations

Hi Everyone, my card is one I sent to my Great Niece on her Wedding Day, last October, I saw a card on the web similar, looking for ideas, but haven't got a link sorry, as it one of 3 I liked. There is another Bridesmaid card I haven't posted too, maybe in another couple or so of days. Catching up on a few that I would like to share.

the image is from Paulette at Create with TLC
the image was coloured to match the card, in PS
dies are Tattered Lace
I cut the Congratulations 4 times to add weight.
the border was cut once from gold and once from Kraft,
with the gold being the "shadow"
I layered the image onto gold card
cut a narrow strip of gold
added a dimensional to hold the strip
and placed 2 gems on the end
this allowed the towelling to hold,
name strips were done in PS
2 hearts were placed in the bottom corners, of Kraft card.

Bird Beak-ause

Hi Everyone, I have a card for the Outlawz sketch challenge today, using papers and image not used before. I wanted to send a card today, to someone who has a few problems. I have so many digi files, that I decided to start at the bottom! of my files instead of the top, for a change, and came across freebie papers and images and sentiment from Tattered Lace, -  my card was born. The sketch was ideal for my card, so putting together papers and images and a few ribbon images, I had my card quite quickly, no colouring in and quite pretty I think. I hope it cheers her up.

50th Birthday card

Hi Everyone, the front of my card today was cut out on the Cameo, the first time I used my new sketch pens on a card. I also cut the 50 after I had used them, the sentiment maybe a little big, BUT, I am thrilled with the result, the pens even have a shimmer in them. I forgot to adjust the design, so that the cut was just outside the square line it drew. Another lesson learned, I hope.

I first used the pens, then cut the 50 out, I cut the papers, (Sweet Paris, by Trimcraft) to size and used a corner punch on the spotted paper, (I forgot to add a curved corner to the design cut!) The butterfly was added to the design for the background paper and cut 4 times, 2 layers on each layer of the wings - if that makes sense? to add a little weight. I laid the cut onto the rose paper, added a ribbon and a flat bow and the butterfly. I wanted it as flat as possible to post to Belgium for my Niece. I hope she liked it.

Morgan's Artworld new images

Hi Everyone, these are the new images this month from Morgan's Artworld, such beautiful images, they are available at the shop HERE.

Here is my make with Fae 12, the image is coloured in PS,
I printed on cross hatched card and decided I loved her
too much to make into a card, so I have framed her and
she will live in my craft room, OR the hallway,
not sure yet which one, at the moment I have
her sitting in front of me in her frame.

Backgrounds by Designs by Brigit
front ivy Hugware no longer available
coloured in PS CS6

This is her before printing onto cross hatched card,
to make it look painted onto canvas.

50th Anniversary

Hi Everyone, my card today follows the Outlawz sketch challenge. I had another in mind until I saw the freebie this week at Create with TLC I fell in love with the image and made it straght away, it's perfect for the couple as she collects plates and as the image reminds me of Delphware pottery, I went with the blue and white.
coloured in PS with an added
gradient effect on the background.

NEW to me! - Vinyl!

Hi everyone, I am so VERY excited, I asked for some vinyl for Christmas, thinking I didn't want to waste MY money (in case I didn't like it LOL) and do I like it? I LOVE it. My first project was a wall decal for my Son's room, he wanted an affirmation, so I made "Believe in Yourself" which is placed over his computer. I also had pens and a new mat, more of the pens in a later post!

Then I HAD to do something else, so I got a sentiment and the flower image from Create with TLC and instead of printing it out, I placed it in on my Cameo screen and sent it to cut out from the vinyl, I was thrilled to see that it had cut so finely, then transferred it to my Cameo, as I WOULD be bored without my crafting. What do you think?
