Flower Pig apology!

Hi Everyone, today I have a lovely pig for you. LOL The card was made because, sometimes, I can be a little outspoken when I am feeling down in the dumps and boy have I had the "dumps" this last few weeks.

I felt that I had spoken out of turn one day this week to my lovely SIL, and decided to apologise with a card for her and chose this fabby image by Eastwind. The sentiment is my own. I thought it conveyed that I should have stopped to think before saying anything.

I coloured the pig in PS, however it was VERY pale after printing, so I went over it with my Spectrum Noir markers. I gave the frames around the papers a "stroke" in PS and then saved it all to print and cut with my Cameo.

It seems that she didn't think I had spoken out of turn, told you she was lovely.

A rocking thank you

Hi Everyone, I've been trying to get my creative mind going with something different and saw a die that I thought I could replicate on my Silhouette! so started playing, time went on and on then I thought nah! this isn't what I want, I wonder if someone has already done it? They had - HERE - and HERE so a print and cut card, although the stepper shape is out of white card and layers out of Paper Garden Projects papers, a swirley shape, flower layer, which I printed and cut twice and sentiment from the kit. I then printed small size papers from the same kit to punch the flowers out. I'm quite pleased with the end result for a first try, I think next time I may add more layers to the side. Now to print and cut again for the inside LOL.

This is the kit I used. from here http://www.thedigichick.com/shop/bountiful-blossoms-Digital-Kit.html

So Cool!

Hi Everyone, did you wonder where I've been? Yep! lacking greatly in the creating department, however I noticed a challenge that would do for me, as it would help with a card I had to do for a Great Niece and here it is.

I used a digital background to layer her and 3D'd the image, firstly I added a pinky "stroke" border in PS then sent it to print and cut in the Cameo, I coloured her with my Spectrum Noir, I hardly touched her face, which seems to work better for me. I added a treble cleft with her age on, that I put together in PS, printed onto matching card and glittered it.

Elegant lady!

Hi Everyone, well - from no mojo to a card in 10 minutes from start to finish!!!!! OK I did have the image already coloured with my Spectrum Noir markers, but didn't know where to go from there, then saw this weeks Outlawz Sketch Challenge and it came together WOW! wish all my makes did the same LOL.

I matched the image, which I had coloured so that I could try the image out! with digi papers I have had since 2008. I stitched the left side and then added colour to the stitching by using a marker. Added dimensional drops and put two dies together to make the swirly hearts. layered the image with layering die cuts - all done. Just one thing - I wish I was better at colouring faces, the ink seems to blend a little too much! Practice, practice is the answer.

Love birds

Hi Everyone, I got a good day, I made 2 cards with another on the way LOL. This is the first one, it's a challenge from Kathy D, She saw I was in trouble with my mojo and sent me the blue birds to get me going, she always succeeds, Bless her.

Anyhow, this is my interpretation of the blue birds, I was going to go with the colour, then saw the dots background paper and HAD to go with it. The heart is a PS shape, which I played with in blending mode and adding a gradient. The heart, birds and a duplicate of the bird and their branch. was saved, to use the print and cut on the Cameo. I 3D'd it onto the paper and added the extra cut bird for a higher layer. I also used Stickles on the digi confetti in the heart. Then added a leaf die to follow the branch on the image.

Time for Tea!

Hi Everyone, I am still struggling, I have read my 3rd book and was transported into another world again!

However I thought I had better start something or nothing will be achieved! So where to start? I had the Outlawz Sketch Challenge sketch, good start, as I had downloaded a couple of things from Paper Garden Projects I would use them, nothing would come together, so I looked at more and came across this pretty kit I hadn't used for a long time and decided to go with it.

I laid it out in PS, cut and print on my Cameo and added a Tattered Lace die, which daringly, I added red tape and die cut a piece of card, which matched, perfectly, the pink in the flowers, then added clear embossing powder and thought it would add a nice gloss, - it would have, but it changed the colour of the card to a deep red! Here is the card with the card just die cut! however the card still looks red in the photo, it's the light - honest! Oh! well it's a start.

I thought I would show you some visitors we had in the garden yesterday, Long Tail Tits, new visitors for us, I hope they'll come back. This was the only photo that was any good, as they were so quick back and fore to the fat balls.

Reading!

Hi everyone, while mojo is absent, I have been reading, in fact 2 books, that I have really enjoyed. I am now onto my 3rd perhaps it's the the continuous rain and darkness we have been having, making me feel like curling up and being warm and cosy, which I have been.

I found this on Elizabeth Dulemba's blog which I thought suited me so well at this time.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK:
"It is no good getting furious if you get stuck. What I do is keep thinking about the problem but work on something else. Sometimes it is years before I see the way forward. In the case of information loss and black holes, it was 29 years. " - Stephen Hawking

However mojo still isn't in attendance and I'm hoping it won't be years before something pops into my head!

I decided to see if there may be something I haven't shown you and this is what I found. A pine perfumed candle I decided to make a gift of, enhanced, I hope you'll think, with an image by Paper Garden Products a scrap of ribbon I had, that fitted around the candle and a die, put all together and here it is. I should have shown it's packing too, but forgot to take a photo of it.

Paper Garden Products "Holiday Home" digi kit

I also did these fab containers in a tray and had to rush to finish them, packed them and forgot to show the finished result, seems this mojo thing was leaving me before Christmas! Here they are in the middle of painting them, I then added lovely paper and inked the edges, I was really pleased with the result. I can here your praise of these - rotflal.  I can see the candle in the photo too!

Scrub up!

Hi Everyone, I am starting a new blog format on Wordpress https://daffodilcards.wordpress.com/  as I didn't want to lose any followers with the Google thinkgy going on, (I'm not as popular as all of you - laughing -) and wondered which you like best, I am duplicating posts on each and would appreciate your input as to which you like best. I have to say Blogger has more options to edit the contents UNLESS I pay for more options on Wordpress, comments gratefully received.
Today I have a sugar scrub, which I made for a few of the family as last minute presents. I found the instructions and labels HERE. It was easy to make, smelt gorgeous and was wonderful to use, the results were pretty amazing too, with soft, soft hands.

Relax!

Hi Everyone, My title today is Relax! because that is what I am doing, I am refusing to feel pressure to do anything, I am taking today easy, that's the plan anyway, which is just as well as the card I have made has Relax in it's sentiment.

I used Pink Petticoat papers, which I haven't used enough of over the years. The image is Phoebe Relaxing by Digistamp Boutique so is the sentiment, I won it in a challenge a little while ago and this is the first time I have used it. I coloured with SN markers and followed the Outlawz Sketch Challenge sketch.

Rain is forecast again today, so playing here, will be the order of the day! I haven't a plan of what to do, so I am hoping that something happens to my mojo and gets it going! I seem to have lost my way in what style I am, what do you do when this happens? IF it happens to you.

Followers

I read the following on  Crafting with Cotnob  blog and have copied it here

I think most of us have realised that something is going on with Google Friend Connect, mainly that we have lost followers over the last few weeks.  My blog friend Dawn recently shared the following information which I believe is one of the best explanations of what is happening that I have seen:

Hi everyone, have you noticed a drop in your blog followers?
Or are you missing posts on blogs you followed?
I have & I was visiting my friend Linda's blog, when I came across a post with
the following information, which I wanted to share with you!
This explains a lot!

In 2011, we announced the retirement of Google Friend Connect for all non-Blogger sites. We made an exception for Blogger to give readers an easy way to follow blogs using a variety of accounts. Yet over time, we’ve seen that most people sign into Friend Connect with a Google Account. So, in an effort to streamline, in the next few weeks we’ll be making some changes that will eventually require readers to have a Google Account to sign into Friend Connect and follow blogs.

As part of this plan, starting the week of January 11, we’ll remove the ability for people with Twitter, Yahoo, Orkut or other Open Id providers to sign in to Google Friend Connect and follow blogs. At the same time, we’ll remove non-Google Account profiles so you may see a decrease in your blog follower count.

We encourage you to tell affected readers (perhaps via a blog post), that if they use a non-Google Account to follow your blog, they need to sign up for a Google Account, and re-follow your blog. With a Google Account, they’ll get blogs added to their Reading List, making it easier for them to see the latest posts and activity of the blogs they follow.

We know how important followers are to all bloggers, but we believe this change will improve the experience for both you and your readers.

This change was due to take effect on Jan 11, but as I mentioned, I've already noticed
a drop in follower numbers, as have some of my other blogging friends
I apologise if this causes any inconvenience & I hope that you can create a Google account, which will allow you to continue following my blog and others, who use Blogger.

If you do create a Google account, you will have to "Follow" blogs again, as those who didn't
have an account will be permanently removed from our lists.  However, if you choose not
to open a Google account, you can still follow blogs using other means such as Bloglovin', Networked Blogs, by email etc but you'll have to check each blog individually
to see what options are available to you!.

I greatly appreciate everyone who follows my blog & I hope that you'll continue
to follow by whatever means suits you!

I am on Bloglovin as wll as Google and would love it if you would continue following me.

Brother card

Hi Everyone, my #3 Brother was 76 this week and this is the card I sent him, he is a STAR. I call all 4 of my Brothers my Bruvva, I've lost one, but they are and were the BEST of men including Hubby of course. Oh! I have had the most loveliest of men in my life including my Dad and Son. nuff of that sloppy stuff :)

The card was cut with a file from Shirley's Cards you can get it Here it was so easy to cut, I cut the centre twice, once as the card and once on paper that I made in PS with a number overlay and coloured it navy, I also cut the text Bruvva and a 3 circles, then added them all to the card.  I added different cream card to the back of the front card, then glittered the stars. Quite simple, but easy for posting too.

Christmas card!

Hi Everyone Yep! a Christmas card, why? because I had this free from the Newsletter Progressive Challenge at Eastwind and as it's so cute I had to use it as a Christmas card. If you go here to sign up for the Newsletter you will get an image each time.

I coloured it in Spectrum Noir markers and put a light pinkish colour to surround it, I just thought it made the whole thing warmer? then 3D'd the image on the digital background added a little Stickles to the snowflakes. A little bow and here it is.

Digital Scrapbook page

Hi Everyone, I have a DT post for Paper Garden Projects today, I have used Cathy's new Rustic kit. There are delightful images and papers and in the digital scrapbook page I have used most of them I think LOL. The page shows a Manger and Angels which my youngest Brother made himself, he was a professional photographer and as you can see he still uses his artistic abilities, wish I had half his skill to see things as he does. I thought the elements in the kit suited the rustic style of his skill.

The card also uses papers and images from the kit and I used
a little PS magic to make a curled corner on the note front and a stitched border.
I laid it out in PS then used the Cameo print and cut for the elements.
I followed sketches for both projects which I have shown below with the kit.

I am entering the following challenges

Red Roses

Hi Everyone, so nice to be doing something different for you today, well I think it's different LOL.

The Progressive Challenge at the Outlawz has this fabulous rose image by Sandi Hugget, as you know hand colouring is not my favourite thing, but I think this is OK, although it seems there is more shading in real life somehow.  I cut card made with a cut file by Shirley's Cards I had this fabulous card shape as a freebie from here

I coloured the rose digi with my Spectrum Noir markers,I embossed the card with an Die'sire Rose embossing folder, cut out the shape of the rose and added it to the card shape, I coloured 3 of the left over heart shapes and layered them into one. I placed red card on the back so it could be seen through the cut out. I had to search through my stash for card that matched the coloured rose and found a piece big enough to add to the card - whew!

I followed this sketch

I have followed the sketch and used the textured digi paper on the background layer and the strip, I used the brad as a main image, loved the "shine" of the frame shape. I have used a sentiment from Create with TLC.
