Iris flowers

Hi Everyone, my card today is following a sketch for the challenge at Scrapbook.com I used a beautiful mini kit which had these beautiful images in it. I followed the sketch by printing and layering the images, adding a 3D raised in the middle border with a sentiment from Create with TLC.

Rocking chair

Hi Everyone a second post from me today as I had forgotten the progressive challenge at the Outlawz which finishes tomorrow and hurriedly made a card, I haven't missed one in a while, didn't want to stop now LOL,

I have a couple of friends coming up with a 70th birthday and saw the quote on the web and a card came together, with the beautiful image from Beccy. I followed the i{heart} sketch 158 and used a colour swatch (below) and made my own "paper" using templates by Melo Vrijhof at  Pixelscrapper. I coloured the image in PS and added a grunge effect to the chair and a shadow, everything was then printed and layered.

Street Party

Hi Everyone, a card today that will be sent to an ex work colleague who lives in Spain, so she can see what she missed on the Queen's Birthday celebrations. I put together the card after seeing a challenge on Scrapbook.com where the challenge photo inspiration was red, white and blue with the USA flag prominent, so I thought OK, lets do a UK flag red white and blue and here is my entry into the challenge.

I made it a digital scrapbook page layout, I printed the layout and layered it onto blue card. I made it simple to avoid excess postage, and I didn't have to send (snail mail) lots of photos to my friend.

Baby Giraffe.

Hi Everyone, I have a baby card that I am sending to my Son's found Sister. She has recently had a little girl and made my Son an Uncle as she addressed him, when letting him know of the birth, which I thought delightful for my Son.

I have been longing to make a card with this image, but babies have been very thin on the ground around us. Anyhow on to my card. I coloured  the image in PS and I followed the Outlawz sketch challenge for this last week and a colour inspiration chart. I used the Giraffe baby which is by Compiet and was a freebie image from Papercraft Inspirations Magazines. Pink Petticoat papers, heart dies by Tattered Lace and a free heart die from Papercrafter Magazine, this month. I added tiny hearts which are the negative of the TL heart die to add to the large heart.

Floral tag card

Hi Everyone, a card I made recently for my Godson's wife. I think I have only used the header die once before, I must use it more. I could say that about all my dies really. Anyhow, I laid out the card in PS printed and layered onto pinkish card and added it to the die cut card. Added the tag with a snip of ribbon and a die cut corner, the buttons are printed and 3D glossed. I made the insert smaller to fit under the sentiment, I'm really pleased how this turned out with the beautiful papers.

Buttons female card

Hi Everyone, my card was created for my needlewoman SIL's birthday. This is the one I made instead of the Male one (previous post) I should have done LOL.

I laid it all out in PS, put a floral border and an image together to make the button card, then printed and layered with the button layer being 3D'd and the buttons sewed on. I saw some button cards on the web, from which I copied the French quotes for the buttons. SIL loves a particular shop in Paris for her fabric and accessories, so thought it apt for her. The ribbon looks a real clash in this, but I assure you it looks good IRL.

Male Button card

Hi Everyone, The Male Room challenge this week is to use stash buttons. So I have twice! LOL.

It seems I am still in the "mistake" mode, I made a button card for a female!! I thought great challenge, as that is what I originally thought for her. Then started blogging it and realised what I had done! NO problem, I had seen an image which was perfect for this challenge.

I added a frame around the main image, I wanted it to look like a button card that would be bought. I added a sentiment and shaped it, that I had seen on the web. (translated, it means novelty from Paris). I sewed the buttons on the card, embossed the 2 background papers, and added a gold frame to the top layer, I die cut the oval and added die cut sentiment, which I cut twice. A twine bow to finish.

Silhouette girl

Hi Everyone, a second post today as I had forgotten about the Outlawz Sketch challenge. So thought I'd pop it in here, as I have a few scheduled for this week.

My first task was searching for papers and an image, I have so many, I either start at the top of my files or go to the bottom to start then work my way back up. This was a start from the top and found papers I hadn't used in aeons! then what image to go with them, well in the search I found a freebie file of silhouettes and just went with one of those. I quite liked the young look of her.

Anyhow, I laid it all out in PS, layered the papers and added the digi buttons, which I 3D glossed and the oval, which I fussy cut. I added a bow die which I am thrilled to have had off a blogging friend, so generous of her. Isn't it lovely? I added "stitching" (plus a mark to hide a slip!) with a beautiful Uniball Silver Pen, I hope you can see the shine in it. I cut the silhouette on the Cameo.

Thank you & layout

Hi Everyone, a quick thank you card today, VERY CAS. It's the sentiment printed in a gold colour and a champagne glass die cut out of mirror card added, I hope my words inside conveyed how we felt with the gifts we had for our anniversary.

I thought I would add a few photos from our celebration weekend away. We had a wonderful time and thankfully the only rain we saw, was whilst we were travelling or before we went out in the day, otherwise it was hot and sunny. On to some photos you can leave now if you like LOL.

The first is a scrapbook layout, with freebie papers from the Sunday Showcase at Dragon's Lair Designs FB page they suited the bus perfectly :) I'll have to look at more tutorials to learn how to layout elements and papers better. Although I did add a grunge element to the background layer.

My first sight of live traditional Morris Dancers, what characters they were.

It was the Queen's Birthday Celebration weekend too, although we
said the flags were out because we were there LOL.

This and the following photo are a couple of the tables in the street party in Sidmouth.
Thank you Sidmouth there was a great atmosphere and it added to our holiday experience.

This was one of the views we had from the Hotel which had
wonderful gardens and a working farm surrounding it.
This is part of what is known as the Jurassic Coast, I'm afraid there had been a landslide and in a closer shot, it is possible to see fences that came down with the cliff. They don't look it in this photo, but they are very high cliffs.

Sympathy card

Hi Everyone, there comes a time when these cards have to be done and I had been told that a friend's father had passed. I didn't have any cards ready and I knew I had this digi stamp that had been allowed to sit and wait until I thought of it.

In PS I added a spray background with a gradient overlay, then added the digi and added a gradient layer to that, I think it's made an interesting effect, one you clever people with stamps and ink and all the other stuff you use, can do so beautifully. What I love about this effect it has even tinted the digi.

This was die cut and layered onto a black grosgrain ribbon, which happily I retrieved from a celebration box of luxury chocolates we had as a gift last weekend. I added a little heart button.

Magic card

Hi Everyone I was asked to make a card for a man who does magic with playing cards as a hobby. I followed a card design, that I bought a few years ago, but can't give credit as there is no name anywhere on it.  I had the playing card off a free web site and added the club image and the 70, layered all papers, used a check template and changed the colours to what I thought suited. I 3D'd the hat and cane, printed the playing card onto acetate and heat embossed it. I glittered the hat ribbon and 3D gloss on the cane. Sounds simpler than it was LOL.

Engagement card.

Hi Everyone, my next door neighbour asked if I would do an engagement card for her nephew, they had gone to New York and he proposed to her there. She wanted something to do with Frank Sinatra as the young lady concerned hadn't heard of him??????????

Anyhow, this is what I came up with, I'm glad to say my neighbour was pleased with it. Hope the couple are! I added part of the words from the song New York, New York which I thought was apt for the occasion, after all it will be a brand new start for them.

I had the couple image from the web a free download of lots of couple images. I added it to the Cameo and cut it out from black card. I had the skyline from the web and heat embossed it after printing it out. A few die cuts, and embossing and plenty of bling and it was done - ah! if only it had been that easy.

Everything went wrong, a bottle of glue run out, the other wouldn't flow, I put the bling through the Xyron sticker 3 times, as the first 2 had sticky on the wrong side, I had to print it out 3 times, as I cut the black card wrongly around the edge, then added it to the card upside down! It's a wonder I didn't throw it.

Life is a beach!

Hi Everyone, my card today is for the progressive challenge at Art by Miran FB page. I coloured her in Spectrum Noir markers. I don't think I'll ever get the hang of using markers. I followed a sketch, (what would I do without them?) from Clean and Simple, the papers and sentiment are by Tracy Wray at Art by Miran.

Ice Cream

Hi Everyone, an ice cream card today AND scheduled, as I am having a little celebration this weekend! I've scheduled my next few posts. when I did this post, the weather was hot and clammy, we are away and what's the forecast? RAIN! oh! well this is the UK, what else did I expect LOL. The image is the Free stamp of the month from the progressive From The Heart Stamps challenge.

I stayed simple with this as I wanted to use all the images and some of the sentiments that came with the stamps. All coloured in PS, I cut and print the ice creams on the Cameo with a white border, so they look like stickers! and glittered them, layered them onto the background paper and the border sprinkles paper, then added the colourful ribbon, which I thought suited it and made a little Summery and quite CAS I think.

Father's Day card

Hi Everyone, I have exciting news, for me anyway, I have been accepted to be on

I am absolutely thrilled, I have been surrounded by wonderful men all my life including my 4 Brothers, Hubby and Son, so to be able to do male cards more often is great for me.

Here is my first card, a great image a FB freebie from Tiddy Inks. I used papers from Dragon Lair Designs Laughter Therapy digi kit. I did a DL size for a change, I followed a Seems a Little Sketchy Sketch, loosely. I haven't done one for a long time but as soon as I saw the wedges, well it had to be didn't it? LOL.

All laid out and coloured in PS, with the "tablecloth" changed in perspective so it appeared flat, then fussy cut and layered with Nuvo drops added to the banner sentiment and 3D gloss for the main sentiment. The quote was from the web.

50th Anniversary card

Hi Everyone, today I have a card that is for my hubby, I can post it as he doesn't see the blog. It's our 50th Anniversary on the 11th June and we are going away for 3 days to Somerset to celebrate. I thank God, I have a wonderful husband and although, as everyone else, we have had our highs and lows in life, we are lucky that we have had a very happy marriage and I have the support of such a loving man.  AND he does most things around the house and garden LOL.

This card was influenced by Debby, Here I knew I had this fabulous image for quite a few years and searched it out in my files, it's by Jelleypark Digital stamps, which I have tried to link, but it seems they are not around any more, such a shame.

The only thing is he has a bald head, my hubby has a very full head of hair, so - I took a photo of hubby into Photoshop and copied his hair and and placed it on the bald spot LOL. Now it looks a little like us, well OK hubby is slimmer LOL.

I laid in all out in PS, coloured, paper pieced the settee and cushions, the couple with knit patterns and spot paper for her dress.  I followed the great Outlawz sketch from this weeks challenge. I looked for gold paper in my files and found fabulous ones by Marisa Lerin, the word paper is by Sheila Reid both at Pixelscrapper.  I added Nuvo Crystal Drops to the gold card, which with the 50 and hearts were cut with the Cameo. I fussy cut the image and 3D'd it and embossed the solid heart with a Tattered Lace embossing border. The specs are 3D glossed. I think he will like it.

A digital Scrapbook page.

Hi everyone, I have a scrapbook page today influenced by Jeanette Padley at the FB page of Dragon Lair Designs using the Sunday Showcase freebie mini kit to make what you like. New kit every Sunday.

Seeing as next week is Hubby and mine Special week, I have gone back to the beginning when we were "courting" definitely not the word of this generation, the kids didn't know what I was talking about when I said "when we were courting" the words to use now are "going out", it seems.

I have to say, it's true that men get better with age LOL. I've put an orange cast over the photos to match the background. I'm not a Scrapbooker, but it's so easy with a layout template, which I used.

Birthday Cat

Hi Everyone, this was for my baby brother's birthday last week. You may think it a strange sentiment for a card but if you go here it will explain its self. I often ponder what to make for him, he is the creative one in the family and was a professional photographer, he sends us GREAT cards with regard to recent stories we tell him that have happened or something relevant to us.

Anyhow, that's how this card came to be. I followed the sketch added some twine, printed the sentiment and cut it into a banner. Printed all the papers, the central image and the mouse and layered them all. I hope he likes it.

DSC June with TSB and Glitterbabe

It's time for the Monthly challenge at

the Theme is

Green / White and one other colour

sponsored by

My offering today is a beautiful stamp from the Stamping Boutique, my Teamies at DSC have used TSB and Glitterbabe images, have a looky. We are promoting 100% entries, have a go, would love to see you there.

Anyhow onto my "creation" I used the Blanket Flower  I coloured it in PS and used various PS brushes, masks, shadows and gradient overlays, to add colour to the background and to the flower, which sits on a floral mask.
I won't go into details, but if you would like to know, please contact me and I will try and explain more deeply what I have done.

I got the quote off the web. It means something to me as, I had something happen recently which made me think. - someone thought I was competing with her. I am too old to think  about competing, been there, done it, got the T shirt! I thought this quote summed it up quite nicely.
